        Radon (222Rn) gas is a main source of ionizing radiation of natural origin. It typically moves up through the ground to the air above and into building or home through cracks and other holes in the foundation. Significantly, the Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States today. This survey covers the determination of indoor radon concentrations at home from 2013 to 2014 in some areas of Gangwondo, every three months (seasonal) during one year using an alpha-track detector. The results showed that the annual average concentration of indoor radon was 84.5 Bq/m3 (GM: 64.5 Bq/m3) at homes. Indoor radon level was the highest in winter and the lowest in summer. Geometric mean radon concentration in winter was 1.03~2.58 times higher than other seasons. The data obtained from this study provide a basis for the preparation of legal regulation and public health protection manuals in this area.

        The objective of this study is to investigate indoor radon concentrations and identify influencing factors for one of the representative house type in South Korea. We surveyed 3,000 detached houses using alpha track (raduet) between November 2013 and March 2014. The Arithmetic mean radon concentration of the houses studied was 147.9 Bq/m3 (GM=106.4 Bq/m3), and the range was 11.8 to 1,936.6 Bq/m3. The Arithmetic mean radon concentration in living rooms was 134.2 Bq/m3 (GM=98.8 Bq/m3), much higher value compar with the Arithmetic mean radon concentration in bedrooms (153.0 Bq/m3). The year of constructon, basement status, ventilation frequency and heating period in a house were identified as major factors influencing indoor radon concentrations. The indoor radon concentrations in houses that were constructed prior to 1990 and that had basements were higher than those in the comparison groups. On the other hand, houses that were frequently ventilated and had a short heating period showed a tendency toward lower indoor radon concentration.

        In this study, the concentration distribution of radon, we analyzed from 55 house, 37 government office, 54 schoolfrom June 2008-June 2011 in Chungnam area. From the result of surveying indoor radon degree of 146 facilities,the annual average geometric concentration of indoor radon was 69.4Bq/m³, 40.5Bq/m³, 51.4Bq/m³ in house,government office, school respectively. As for distribution of concentration based on seasons, the radonconcentration showed the highest concentration in winter in all facilities. According to the result of the analysisby dividing the construction year, into before 60s, 60-70s, 80-90s and 2000s, the radon concentration was lowerin all the newly constructed facilities. As for difference in radon concentration due to the presence or absence ofbasement, concentration of house, government office and schools having basement was 52.2Bq/m³, 44.5Bq/m³,36.4Bq/m³ that of having no basement was 75.2Bq/m³, 53.6Bq/m³, 67.4Bq/m³ respectively. Place having nobasement tend to show higher concentration.

        This study investigated the indoor radon concentration of 44 elementary schools in Gyeongsang-do from June 2008 to May 2009. The results obtained from this investigation are as follows. As for distribution of concentration based on seasons, the radon concentration was 77.4Bq/m3 in winter, 71.8Bq/m3 in autumn, 47.8Bq/m3 in spring and 40.4Bq/m3 in summer of Gyeongsangnam-do. And Gyeongsangbuk-do was 155.4Bq/m3 in winter, 124.3Bq/m3 in autumn, 82.7Bq/m3 in spring and 58.0Bq/m3 in summer, showing the highest concentration in winter. As for difference in radon concentration according to whether there is basement, concentration of schools having basement was 37.2Bq/m3, that of schools having no basement was 62.1Bq/m3 in Gyeongsangnam-do. In Gyeongsangbuk-do, schools having basement showed 53.9Bq/m3 of concentration and schools having no basement 124.7Bq/m3. Schools having no basement tend to show higher concentration. Indoor radon concentration according to the constructing year was 64.5Bq/m3 in schools built before 1990, 34.9Bq/m3 during 1990s and 32.8Bq/m3 during 2000s in Gyeongsangnam-do, and 110.5Bq/m3, 83.5Bq/m3 and 48.3Bq/m3 in Gyeongsangbuk-do respectively.

        In recent years, the number of complaints about indoor air pollution caused by volatile organic compounds(VOCs) has increased. It is important that evaluating and understanding emission of indoor air pollutant from building materials. The aim of this study was to evaluate emission test methods for liquid phase building materials such as paint, adhesive and sealant, and to determine the emission of total volatile organic compounds(TVOC) from liquid phase building material. The quantity of TVOC emission was measured by a gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MSD). It was found that liquid phase building materials were classified according to their use and ingredient. The TVOC concentration from oil-based paint was the highest among 8 groups of test materials. The unidentified volatile organic compounds occupied 83.0% of TVOC emission from test materials. The aliphatic hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons occupied 7.2%, 6.9% of TVOC, respectively. The concentration of TVOC decreased by an increase during emission test period. After 3 days, the concentration of TVOC from paint, adhesive and sealant were about half of the concentration at the first day. The ratio of concentration between 7 days and 1 day was 0.11~0.15 from water-based paint and 0.46~0.48 from epoxy adhesive.

        This study was carried out to evaluate the characteristics of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and aldehydes emission as a function of airtight time in new apartment. Sampling was undertaken at 34 new apartments located in 4 different cities of Korea from February to November 2005. The measurement data were collected every one hour from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. toward increasing airtight time in a day. The concentrations of VOCs and aldehydes were analysed by GC/MS and HPLC method, respectively. These methods showed good sensitivity, linearity, and repeatability. In this study, the most abundant compounds at new apartments appeared to be toluene, m,p-xylene, formaldehyde and acetone. Moreover, the concentration variations at a closed rooms progressively increased by airtight time of 5 hours. Airtight time of new apartment was a most important and affective factor which influenced concentration change.

        The purpose of this study is to optimize an emission test method for building materials and to understand the characteristics of total volatile organic compounds (TVOC) and carbonyl compounds emission from building materials, especially solid-phase building materials, using a small chamber test method. As a result of the evaluation for small chamber system, temperature and humidity was maintained constantly at 24.5℃, 50.2%. The background concentration of total volatile organic compounds and formaldehyde were also controlled below 20 ㎍/㎥ and 0.5 ㎍/㎥, respectively. Air leakage of emission test chamber and the duplicate precision between two emission test chambers were satisfied. As a result of evaluation for sampling and analysis system (such as the breakthrough test), repeatability of response factor, and retention time in GC/MS and HPLC, desorption efficiency, method detection limits were excellent. The concentration of total volatile organic compounds emitted from wallpapers (made of PVC) was higher at 25℃ than at 23℃. Also, the concentration of formaldehyde emitted from floorings made from non-PVC (wood-based) was higher at 25℃ than at 23℃. On the other hand, there was not a significant difference between the concentrations of total volatile organic compounds emission from wallpaper (made of PVC) which was stored for 2 weeks at 25℃ and 4℃ with tight sealing. In conclusion, emission characteristics of TVOC and formaldehyde from solid-phase building materials would be expected to apply to the plan for the management of indoor air quality.

        일러스트레이션은 예술과 디자인의 중립 된 영역으로, 조형적인 아름다움을 통해 소비자의 감정을 자극함과 동시에 전달하고자 하는 메시지를 시각적으로 명확하게 전달하는 인지적 기능을 갖추고 있다. 과거의 일러스트레이션은 글을 꾸며주기 위한 삽화의 개념으로 적용되어왔으나 대중매체의 발달로 인해 현재 일러스트레이션은 적용되는 범위의 확장과 더불어 표현 유형 또한 다양화되었다. 일러스트레이션의 표현 양식 또한 메시지를 있는 그대로 재현하는 재현주의적 양식에서 나아가 작가의 주관이 내포된 표현주의적 양식으로 확장되었다. 이는 목적에 따라 다양한 수사적 표현을 통해 메시지를 전달하고 있으며 작품의 수사적 표현을 통하여 소비자와의 합리적인 커뮤니케이션이 이루어진다면 보다 작품의 의미를 풍성하게 전달하고 일러스트레이션의 예술성과 기능성을 동시에 나타낼 수 있을 것이다. 이에 본 연구는 메시지가 명확한 광고 일러스트레이션을 범위로 한정하여 국내에서 가장 일반적으로 적용되는 수사학의 삼분법을 광고 일러스트레이션에 적용하고 작품을 해석하였다. 또한 소비자 설문을 시행하여 각 수사 기법의 분류에 따른 일러스트레이션의 소비자 반응과 평가를 분석하였다. 분석된 결과 값을 통해 일러스트레이션이 적용되는 광고의 내용과 그 목적에 따라 각 수사 기법이 달리 적용된다면 보다 효과적인 커뮤니케이션이 이루어질 것이라 판단하며 나아가 일러스트레이션의 장르적 발전에 도움이 되고자 한다.

        본 논문은 비내진 상세를 갖는 철근콘크리트 골조 및 필로티 건물의 보강방법으로 높은 연성을 갖는 ECC를 적용한 PC 벽판을 내진 보강요소로 사용하고자 하였다. PC 벽판의 형상비 및 설치 위치를 변수로 RC 골조에 대한 반복가력실험을 실시하여 내진성능을 평가하였다. 실험결과 PC 벽판을 보강함에 따라 기존 RC 골조의 내력 증진, 강도저하 방지, 강성증진 및 에너지 소산능력 향상에 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 실험결과를 근거로 비내진 상세를 갖는 골조의 강도 증진을 위하여 ECC PC 벽판을 골조의 중앙에 설치하고 연성증진을 위하여 세장한 벽판을 골조의 양측면에서 설치할 것을 제안한다.

        최근 건설분야에서도 스마트(Smart)라는 개념을 도입한 재료 및 구조방식의 개발에 관한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 특히 기존 콘크리트와 같은 시멘트 복합체에 다양한 전도물질을 혼입하여 외력의 작용시 유발되는 변형을 시멘트 복합체의 저항변화로 평가하는 자기 감지형 건설재료 개발 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 통상적으로 시멘트 복합체는 인장변형에 대한 저항능력이 낮기 때문에 주로 압축변형과 전기적인 저항특성의 상관성을 평가하는 연구 즉, 압축변형 감지능력을 갖는 시멘트 복합체 개발에 관한 연구가 대부분이었다. 본 연구에서는 직접인장하에서 0.5% 인장변형시까지 자기 감지능력을 갖는 변형 경화형 시멘트 복합체(SHCC)를 개발하고 또한 철근의 보강이 SHCC의 자기 감지능력에 끼치는 영향을 평가한다.

        This research uses carbon nanotubes (CNTs) that are actively used to develop convenient and systematic management of building blocks and structural performance monitoring, away from the difficulties of structural health monitoring such as RC structures. The change in electrical resistance was evaluated according to the amount of load and compressive load. Experiments were carried out with 1.0% and 2.0% CNT, and 30% and 60% compressive strength, respectively. Experimental results show that the compressive strength of CNT 2.0% is lower than the compressive strength of CNT 1.0% but is more sensitive to changes in electrical resistance due to compressive load.

        본 연구의 목적은 해석적 방법을 통하여 내화 재료의 특성을 파악하고 섬유 강화 폴리머로 보강된 철근콘크리트의 보의 적절한 내화설계 방법을 제안하는 것이다. 이를 위해, 내화재료의 가열실험을 실시하고 유한요소해석을 통해 열전도율과 비열을 구하고 또한 고온에서 FRP로 보강된 철근콘크리트 보 실험체에 대한 유한요소 해석을 통해 실험결과와 해석결과를 비교하였다. 이 과정에서 실험과 해석적 접근의 신뢰성을 확인하였다. 최종적으로 FRP로 보강된 철근콘크리트 보의 열적특성을 제안된 해석 방법으로 분석하고 고온으로 감소된 휨내력을 계산하였다. 최종적으로 제안된 방법을 이용하여 FRP로 보강된 부재에서 고온 노출시 열특성을 반영한 부재의 열전도를 파악하고 이를 이용하여 내력을 산정할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다.

        본 연구에서는 콘크리트에 표면매입된 FRP판의 부착거동에서, 전단키와 연단거리의 효과를 관찰하기 위한 부착시험을 실시하였 다. 실험에서의 주요변수는 전단키의 위치, 형태 그리고 연단길이이다. 규격 3.6 ㎜×16 ㎜의 FRP를 400 ㎜×200(300) ㎜×400 ㎜ 규격의 콘크리 트 블록에 매입하고 에폭시로 고정시켜서 실험변수에 따라 총 10개의 부착실험체를 제작하였다. FRP의 연단에 인장력을 가한 뒤 파괴시까지 실험을 실시하고 하중을 기록하였으며, 미끄러짐과 FRP의 인장변형량을 기록하였다. 실험으로부터, 전단키의 위치는 가력부에서 멀리 떨어 질수록 전단강도가 상승하는 것으로 나타났으며, 전단키의 직경이 커질수록 내력이 저하되는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 전단키가 일정 이상의 규 격이 되면 전단키가 없는 경우에 비하여 내력이 저하되어 오히려 부착강도에 부정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. NSM FRP에서 응력장용방향의 연단거리가 길어짐에 따라 동일 부착길이임에도 불구하고 내력이 일부 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 표면매입 보강된 FRP의 부착실험에서, FRP와 콘크리트사이의 부착-미끄러짐은 전체거동을 지배하는 것으로 나타나므로 이에 따른 과도한 미끄러짐은 설계에 반드시 고려될 필요가 있다.

        In the recent remodeling construction for old apartment, it is general to extend the parking space for the increased cars for residents. This paper reviews the extension methods of parking space and presents the problems that must be solved for the construction. In this paper, three extension cases of parking space in the remodeling projects were reviewed. As a result, the demand for the extension needs to be analyzed for the various cases and the technologies for the best-fitted construction should be suggested based on the demand.

        This study assesses the adequacy of a critical value of the FEMA 273 for beams utilized in the present performance-based design. From the comparison the critical values of FEMA 273 with those of previous experimental result about beams, it was shown that FEMA 273 underestimated the critical values. Therefore, it is necessary to perform a research to find the hysteresis model for the performance-based design considering the hysteretic behavior of domestic reinforced concrete members.

        In this paper, the tensile capacity of the grout-filled head splice sleeve experienced repeated loads was evaluated. From the tensile test of the sleeves, it was found that all the sleeves had enough tensile strength showing the tensile failure of the steel bars.

        The purpose of this study is to evaluate the seismic performance of RC frame building which was retrofitted by wing walls. At fitst, the seismic performance evaluation was performed on the deteriorated RC frame building by using capacity spectrum method. And the efficiency of the retrofit by using wing walls was checked from the evaluation of its seismic capacity for various layout. As a results, it was found that the wing wall increased the stiffness and strength of the building.

        This paper presents a design process of columns in precast concrete frame building structure constructed by using hollowed precast concrete (HPC) column. An example PC frame building was designed and the structural safety of HPC columns was checked as a form for during slab construction and a composite column for design load after construction based on the previous research.
