        Engineering the microstructure of the carbonaceous materials is a promising strategy to enhance the capacitive performance of supercapacitors. In this work, nanostructured Black Pearl (1500 BP) carbon which is a conductive carbon being commercially used in printing rolls, conductive packaging, conductive paints, etc. is analyzed for its feasibility as an electrode material for Electric Double-Layer Capacitors (EDLCs). To achieve that commercial Black Pearl (BP), carbon is treated with mild acid H3PO4 to remove the impurities and enhance the active sites by regulating the growth of agglomerates and creating micropores in the nano-pigments. Generally, the coalescence of nanoparticles owing to their intrinsic surface energy has tendency to create voids of different sizes that act like meso/micropores facilitating the diffusion of ions. The electrochemical performance of BP carbon before and after chemical activation is investigated in aqueous ( H2SO4, KOH and KCl) and a non-aqueous electrolyte (1 M TEMABF4 in acetonitrile) environment employing different electrochemical techniques such as Cyclic Voltammetry (CV), Galvanostatic charge/discharge (GCD) and Electrochemical Impendence Spectroscopy (EIS). The chemically activated BP carbon delivers the highest specific capacitance of ∼156 F g−1 in an aqueous electrolyte, 6 M KOH. The highest specific power, ~ 15.3 kW kg−1 and specific energy, 14.6 Wh kg−1 are obtained with a symmetric capacitor employing non-aqueous electrolyte because of its high working potential, 2.5 V.

        We collected Seokganju minerals (regions in Gyeryong Mountain, Sangsin-ri, Banpo-myeon, GongjuChungcheongnam-province), which were used as natural color pigments for grayish-blue during the 15th~16th centuries of theJoseon era, and investigated their crystallographic features to develop a black pigment having a spinel structure. By a Ramananalysis, the color of Seokganju under transparent glaze as a pigment for painting was black because hematite (Fe2O3) inSeokganju was converted to magnetite (Fe3O4) However, Seokganju into the transparent glaze as a pigment was brown becauseof hematite (Fe2O3) and small amounts of maghemite (γ-Fe2O3) in Seokganju minerals. Only Seokganju mineral is used, it isnot suitable for black pigment into the transparent glaze. This study tried to develop a spinel crystal black pigment stabilizedby Seokganju with CoO, Cr2O3, NiO, and MnO2 at 1280oC. A Raman spectroscopy analysis was performed to verify thepresence of Mn The results showed that it existed as spinel, and two crystal phases CoFe2O4 and MnFe2O4 were mixed.CoFe2O4 spinel has a dark grayish black color and Mn2O4 spinel has a greenish black color, and these two appeared as black.The color of a specimen calcined by adding 6wt% of pigment mixed with 5wt% of MnO2 added to lime glaze was analyzedwith a UV spectrophotometer. When applying the color pigment, it appeared black stabilized with L*24.23, a* 0.12, b* −2.29at 1260oC oxidative calcination, With 1240oC reduction firing, it is appeared black stabilized with low brightness of L* 23.13,a* −1.12, b* 0.54.

        치자로부터 청색 및 황색색소, 고량으로부터 암갈색 색소를 주정을 이용하여 추출ㆍ농축하여 60Brix 농도의 추출물을 회수하였는데, 각각의 수율은 0.68, 1.97, 0.63% (w/w)였다. 이들을 대두유: 물: 유화제: 치자청: 치자황: 고량색소=8: 22: 42: 10: 15: 13 (w/w)의 비율로 혼합하고 균질화하여 유용성 천연 검정색소를 얻었다. 이 색소를 대두유에 용해시킨 결과 대두유의 품온이 30∼4 범위에서 가장 높은 용해도를

        흑진주벼 색소 분획의 급성독성 시험을 하기 위하여 ICR계 생쥐 각 암수 6마리를 1주일 이상 순화시킨 다음 경구투여를 실시하여 14일 동안 급성독성 평가를 한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 색소추출물의 급성독성 실험에서 생쥐의 암수 모두 9000mg/kg의 대량 경구 용량에서도 사용한 6마리가 모두 사망하지 않았다. 2 1000, 3000 및 9000mg/kg 경구 용량에서 14일간 측정한 체중변화는 대조군과 유의성 있는 변화가 없었고 증상의 이상도 보이지 않았다. 3. 경구 용량 시험의 부검결과 대조군과 유의성 있는 체중변화와 다른 증상의 이상이 관찰되지 않아서 안정성이 높은 물질로 확인되었다.
