        PURPOSES : The "Super-Bus Rapid Transit" (S-BRT) standard guidelines recommend installing physical facilities to separate bus lanes, so as to remove possible conflicts with other traffic when using an existing road as an S-BRT route. Based on a collision simulation, we reviewed the protective performance and installation method of a low-profile barrier, i.e., one that does not occupy much of the width of the road as a physical facility and does not obstruct the driver's vision. METHODS : The LS-DYNA collision analysis software was used to model the low-profile barrier, and a small car collision simulation was performed with two different installation methods and by changing the collision speeds of the vehicle. The installation methods were divided into a fixed installation method based on on-site construction and a precast method, and collision speeds of 80 and 100 km/h were applied. The weight of the crash vehicle was 1.3 tons, and the segment lengths of the low-profile barriers were 2.5 and 4.0 m, respectively. The lowprofile barriers were modeled as precast concrete blocks, and the collision simulation for a fixed concrete barrier was performed by fixing the nodes at the bottom of the low-profile barrier. The low-profile barrier comprised a square cross-section reinforced concrete structure, and the segments were connected by connecting steel pipes with varying diameters to wire ropes. RESULTS : From comparing and analyzing the small car collision simulations for the changes in collision speeds and installation methods of the low-profile barrier, a significant difference was found in the theoretical head impact velocity (THIV) and acceleration severity index(ASI) for the 2.5-m barrier at a collision speed of 80 km/h. However, the differences in the installation method were not significant for the 4.0-m barrier. The occupant safety index with a collision speed of 80 km/h was calculated to be below the limit regardless of the installation method, and the length of the segment satisfied the occupant protection performance. At a collision speed of 100 km/h, when the segment length of the 2.5-m barrier was fixed, the THIV value exceeded the limit value; thus, the occupant protection performance was not satisfied, and the occupant safety index differed depending on the installation method. The maximum rotation angle of the vehicle, which reflects the behavior of the vehicle after the collision, also varied depending on the installation method, and was generally small in the case of precast concrete. CONCLUSIONS : Low-profile barriers can be installed using a fixed or precast method, but as a result of the simulation, the precast movable barrier shows better results in terms of passenger safety. Therefore, it would be advantageous to secure protection performance by installing a low-profile barrier with the precast method for increased safety in high-speed vehicle collisions.

        본 연구는 충돌 사고 중에서 정박지에서 대기하고 있는 선박과 이 정박지를 통항하는 선박 간 충돌사고가 자주 발생함에 따라, 정박선 사이를 통항하는 선박의 충돌위험을 예측할 수 있는 모델을 개발하기 위한 기초 연구로 통항 선박의 안전 영역을 도출하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 우리나라 최대 항만인 부산항 남외항 정박지를 대상 해역으로 선정하고 정박선이 가장 많이 대기한 기간 VTS(Vessel Traffic Service) 항적 자료를 추출하여 분석하였다. 정박선 사이를 통항하는 선박의 길이(L)를 기준으로 정박선과 어느 정도의 안전한 거리 (D)를 두고 통과하는지를 알기 위하여 통항 선박의 방위별 D/L 비를 구하였다. D/L 비 분포의 평균 domain을 기준으로 기존 선박 domain 범위 안으로 정박선이 존재할 비율을 분석하여 VTS 관제사의 위험 정도를 반영한 domain을 도출하였다. 추후 연구로는 정박선 사이의 최소 안전거리인 Domain-watch와 정박지 통항 선박의 안전 domain을 활용한 정박지 통항 선박의 충돌위험도 평가 및 분석을 하고, 이를 통해 VTS가 정박지를 좀 더 효율적이고 안전하게 관리하기 위한 모델을 개발하고자 한다.

        본 논문은 버스정류장 미세먼지 저감을 위해 설계된 도로시설물의 성능평가 과정 및 결과를 보고한다. 먼저, 유한요 소해석 프로그램인 LS-DYNA를 이용하여 대상 구조물에 대한 충돌해석이 수행되었다. 해석변수로 차량의 속도와 충돌 위치를 고려한 다양한 조건에서의 구조해석이 진행되었다. 대상 시설물의 성능은 이 결과를 이용하여 구조적 성능과 충돌 후 차량의 안전성능이 평가되었다. 해석결과로부터 충돌속도가 증가하고 충돌위치가 전면으로 갈수록 시설물의 구조성능과 차량의 충돌 후 안전성능이 저하되는 것이 콘크리트의 손상량을 통해 확인되었다. 더불어 충돌 후 차량의 거동에 대한 분석을 통해 시설물에 연속되는 연석이 설치되면 차량의 이탈을 방지해 안전성능을 확보하는 것으로 예측되었다. 최종적으로, 대상 시설물은 설계 시 고려된 목표 충돌속도 25km/h보다 더 큰 40km/h까지 충분한 안전성능을 확보하고 있다는 것이 확인되었다.

        Even if only two ships are encountered, a collision may occur due to the mistaken judgment of the positional relationship. In other words, if an officer does not know a target ship’s intention, there is always a risk of collision. In this paper, the experiments are conducted to investigate how the intention affects the action of collision avoidance in cooperative and non-cooperative situations. In non-cooperative situation, each ship chooses a course that minimizes costs based on the current situation. That is, it always performs a selfish selection. In a cooperative situation, the information is exchanged with a target ship and a course is selected based on this information. Each ship uses the Distributed Stochastic Search Algorithm so that a next-intended course can be selected by a certain probability and determines the course. In the experimental method, four virtual ships are set up to analyze the action of collision avoidance. Then, using the actual AIS data of eight ships in the strait of Dover, I compared and analyzed the action of collision avoidance in cooperative and non-cooperative situations. As a result of the experiment, the ships showed smooth trajectories in the cooperative situation, but the ship in the non-cooperative situation made frequent big changes to avoid a collision. In the case of the experiment using four ships, there was no collision in the cooperative situation regardless of the size of the safety domain, but a collision occurred between the ships when the size of the safety domain increased in cases of non-cooperation. In the case of experiments using eight ships, it was found that there are optimal parameters for collision avoidance. Also, it was possible to grasp the variation of the sailing distance and the costs according to the combination of the parameters, and it was confirmed that the setting of the parameters can have a great influence on collision avoidance among ships.

        PURPOSES : Before-and-after studies of red light cameras were conducted with the aim of reducing the number of side right-angle collisions. Three different methods were used for the before-and-after studies, and the analysis results were compared. METHODS: This research used the naive before-and-after method, the comparison-group method, and the empirical Bayes method to study the effects of red light cameras on side-angle collisions. The results of the three before-and-after methods were compared and interpreted in terms of safety indications at signalized intersections. RESULTS: The research results showed that side right-angle collisions can be reduced by installing red light cameras at signalized intersections. All three methods guarantee safety improvements of 25~30% on average. With regard to the results of each method, the naive before-and-after method, the comparison-group method, and the empirical Bayes method showed safety improvements of 25.6%, 27.8%, and 29.7%, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: It was concluded that red light cameras are an effective countermeasure to improve intersection safety. In particular, by installing red light cameras, side right-angle collisions can be reduced by up to approximately 25~30%.

        안전모는 낙하, 비례물에 대한 두부를 보호하는 보호구로 낙하물의 충격을 일부 흡수하여 완화시켜주는 기능을 하고 있다. 안전모 충격 흡수 성능으로 최고전달충격력이 있으나 낮을수록 성능이 좋은 것으로 나타나지만 안전모 제조과정에서 얼마 만큼의 충격이 흡수되는지는 알 수 없었다. 이로 인하여 성능 향상을 위한 충격력의 명확한 제어 가능한 성능 향상의 기준을 잡는데 어려움이 있었다. 본 연구에서는 충격량과 연관된 반발계수로 충격흡수 성능의 정도를 찾고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 시중에서 주로 착용되고 있는 ABS 재질의 안전인증 합격품을 대상으로 선정 하였다. 연구 방법으로는 운동량과 충격량의 이론으로 안전모 충격흡수성능 시험장치를 활용하여 인두에 전달된 충격량을 활용하여 충격흡수시의 반발계수를 구하고, 충격을 흡수치 않을 때를 가정하여 추정 충격력 곡선을 유도하고 충격흡수 전의 추정 최고 전달충격력과 반발계수를 구하여 충격흡수의 성능을 나타내었다. 연구결과 국내 안전인증 H사의 안전모의 최고전달충격력은 4100 N 이였고, 충격흡수 성능은 400 N 으로 약 9 %를 흡수되는 것으로 나타났다.

        The prevention of marine accidents has been a major topic in marine society and various policies and countermeasures has been developed, applied to the industries. Formal Safety Assessment is a structured and systematic methodology, aimed at enhancing maritime safety, including protection of life, health, the marine environment and property, by using risk and cost-benefit assessments. In addition, it provides a means of being proactive, enabling potential hazards to be considered before a serious accident occurs. In this paper, we has been screening and ranking of hazards using fuzzy structural modeling method and quantitative risk assessment for the ship's collision in the last 10 years marine accidents.

        It can be said that the relationship between the maneuvering ability of operators and the navigational environment affects the safe degree of navigation in the collision avoidance situation. In order to reduce the occurrence probability of accident and to maintain the safety, it is necessary to clarify the relationship between human behavior and navigational environment. In this study, therefore, we analyzed and discussed the relationship between the maneuvering characteristics and the safety focused on human behavior as a fundamental factor of marine accidents using ship handling simulator and questionnaire. As a result, we concluded that navigational environment changes variously and the maneuvering ability of operators also varies with the navigational environment, and the ship handling characteristics strongly affect the occurrence probability of accident.
