        Purpose: The study aim was to understand the experiences of intensive care unit (ICU) nurses in labor union activities. Methods: A descriptive qualitative study and content analysis were conducted. The participants included nine ICU nurses who shared their experiences with labor union activities. The data were collected through in-depth interviews. Results: The experiences of ICU nurses with labor union activities encompassed five themes: “The Initial Step in Union Activities”, “Benefits Derived from Union Participation”, “Concerns Regarding Union Activities”, “The Non-Omnipotence of Unions”, and “Achieving Mutual Benefits through Union Activities”. Conclusion: The study findings revealed that ICU nurses strive to improve their work and the nursing environment through labor unions, despite facing negative perceptions of union involvement.

        본 논문은 노사관계에서 중요한 측면인 감정노동과 노조태도에 관한 연구이다. Hochschild가 1980년대 초 ‘감정노동’에 관해서 소개하고 이론화한 후 30여 년이 지난 이후 사회과학분야에서 감정노동은 매우 활발히 연구되어 왔고, 그만큼 감정노동 연구는 그 이론적 깊이와 폭과 다양성의 측면에서 괄목할 만한 업적을 이루었음에도 불구하고 감정노동이 노사관계측면에서 실증적으로 거의 연구되지 않은 가운데 감정노동이 노조관련 태도에 미치는 영향에 관한 탐색적 실증연구결과를 보고하는 논문이다. 본 연구는 개념적 연구방법과 경험적 연구방법을 병행하되, 주로 경험적인 연구를 통해 연구목적을 달성하고자 하였다. 경험적 연구는 간호, 간병, 항공사승무원, 콜센터, 판매 등 다양한 업종의 감정노동자 432명에 대한 설문조사를 통한 실증연구로서 감정노동의 경험이 노조태도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 감정노동의 표면행동과 감정노동의 강도는 노조태도에 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 조절변수의 영향을 보면, 감정노동경험이 노조태도에 미치는 영향은 업종(돌봄 정도)에 따라 차이가 있었으나, 노조유무와 고용형태에 따른 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 이러한 실증연구결과가 갖는 시사점과 연구의 한계점 그리고 향후연구에의 제언을 제시하였다.

        Risk information may be one of the most important factor for worker's safe behavior because that safe behavior can be oriented by attitude based on risk information. Traditionally KAP(knowledge, attitude and practice) model was useful frame for the change of human behavior. Knowledge is formed by information through experience and education. Worker's health may be prevented by his or her own active safe behavior based on risk information. This paper is to investigate the effect of labor union on the provirion of risk information by labor union. Data for analysis is the third Korean Working Conditions Survey done by Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute in 2011. The sample size is 50,032 economic active person surveyed by household interview survey with structure questionnaire by trained interviewer. The difference of risk information provision among employees was tested by mean difference test. The level of risk information of employees of companies with labor union is higher than that with non labour union. This paper has some implication for the promotion of safe behavior of employees through risk information provision mediated by labor union. Some limitation of this study may be considered because of using the cross sectional survey data.

        The Purpose of this study is to compare occupational accident rate of unionized and non-unionized company and to investigate influences of labor relations on occupational accident rate in Korean manufacturing and construction Industry. Data in 2011 Occupational safety and Health Trend Survey were analyzed for this study. Results show that the occupational accident rate was lower in unionized company than non-unionized company. And amicable labor relationship reduces the occupational accident rate. The policy should be needed to support labor union and improve labor relationship to prevent industrial accidents.

        The purpose of this study was to develop an effective cost control model for university foodservice operations by analyzing student satisfaction, as well as foodservice income statements for operational characteristics. The specific objectives were to examine the satisfaction of students for various foods service quality dimensions, to determine the financial activities performed in foodservice operations by operational type,to examine their income statement data, and lastly, to compare the student satisfaction for foodservice quality with the financial data of the income statements. A total of 545 students from one university answered a satisfaction survey. πle one-year income statements ofthree union foodservices (self-operated, small-scale contracted, and large-scale contracted) at the same university were analyzed. The results showed that the self-operated union foodservice had lower student satisfaction scores and higher food and labor cost ratios. The small-scale contract management foodservice data indicated the highest student satisfaction scores and the lowest food and labor cost ratios. The large-scale contract management foodservice data showed medium scores when comparing the three union foodservice operations. Overall, by comparing the satisfaction scores and operational profits, the small-scale union foodservices showed the highest satisfaction scores and profit.
