        Excess nitrogen (N) flowing from livestock manure to water systems poses a serious threat to the natural environment. Thus, livestock wastewater management has recently drawn attention to this related field. This study first attempted to obtain the optimal conditions for the further volatilization of NH3 gas generated from pig wastewater by adjusting the amount of injected magnesia (MgO). At 0.8 wt.% of MgO (by pig wastewater weight), the volatility rate of NH3 increased to 75.5% after a day of aeration compared to untreated samples (pig wastewater itself). This phenomenon was attributed to increases in the pH of pig wastewater as MgO dissolved in it, increasing the volatilization efficiency of NH3. The initial pH of pig wastewater was 8.4, and the pH was 9.2 when MgO was added up to 0.8 wt.%. Second, the residual ammonia nitrogen (NH4 +-N) in pig wastewater was removed by precipitation in the form of struvite (NH4MgPO4·6H2O) by adjusting the pH after adding MgO and H3PO4. Struvite produced in the pig wastewater was identified by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. White precipitates began to form at pH 6, and the higher the pH, the lower the concentration of NH4 +-N in pig wastewater. Of the total 86.1% of NH4 +-N removed, 62.4% was achieved at pH 6, which was the highest removal rate. Furthermore, how struvite changes with pH was investigated. Under conditions of pH 11 or higher, the synthesized struvite was completely decomposed. The yield of struvite in the precipitate was determined to be between 68% and 84% through a variety of analyses.

        PURPOSES: The liquid-type chemical warm-mix asphalt (WMA) additive has been developed. This study evaluates the basic properties of the additive and the mechanical properties of WMA asphalt and mixture manufactured by using the newly developed chemical additive. METHODS: First, the newly developed WMA additive was applied to the original asphalt by various composition of additive components and dosage ratio of additive. These WMA asphalt binders were evaluated in terms of penetration, softening point, rotational viscosity, and PG grade. Based on the binder test results, one best candidate was chosen to apply to the mixture and then the mechanical properties of WMA mixture were evaluated for moisture susceptibility, dynamic modulus, and rutting and fatigue resistance. RESULTS : According to the binder test, WMA asphalt binders showed the similar properties to the original asphalt binder except the penetraion index of WMA additive was a little higher than original binder. From the Superpave mix design, the optimum asphalt content and volumetric properties of WMA mixture were almost the same with those of hot mix asphalt (HMA) mixture even though the production and compaction temperatures were 30℃ lower for the WMA mixture. From the first set of performance evaluation, it was found that the WMA mixture would have some problem in moisture susceptibility. The additive was modified to improve the resistance to moisture and the second set of performance evaluation showed that the WMA mixture with modified chemical additive would have the similar performance to HMA mixture. CONCLUSIONS : Based on the various laboratory tests, it was concluded that the newly developed chemical WMA additve could be successfully used to produce the WMA mixture with the comparable performance to the HMA mixture. These laboratory evaluations should be confirmed by applying this additive to the field and monitoring the long-term performance of the pavement, which are scheduled in the near future.

        최근 국제 유가의 상승으로 인한 선박 운용비를 절감하기 위하여 중소형 선박에서도 저질연료유의 사용이 검토되고 있는 추세이다. 이 연구에서는 현재 중소형 선박에서 연료유로 사용중인 경유와 중유MF380을 혼합하여 소형선박에 사용이 가능하도록 제조한 혼합연료유인 MF30 연료유에 대하여 그 물리 화학적 특성을 분석하고 정제처리 및 연료유첨가제 효과에 대해 알아보았다. 연구결과 두 가지 전처리 방식인 원심식청정기와 가열 및 균질 방식(M.C.H)의 효과는 다소 미약하였지만, 유동점과 인화점은 다소 낮아졌다. 연료유첨가제로 인한 개질 효과는 뚜렷이 나타나지 않았다.

        (hfac)Cu(1, 5-DMCOD)(1, 1, 1, 5, 5, 5-Hexafluoro-2, 4-pentanedionato Cu(I) 1, 5-dimethyl-cyclooctadine) 전구체와 He 운반기체를 이용하여 MOCVD(Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition) 방법으로 Cu 박막을 형성하였으며, He 운반기체와 함께 H2 gas 및 H(hfac) Ligand의 첨가가 Cu 박막 형성에 미치는 영향에 대하여 조사하였다. He운반기체만을 사용한 경우, Cu 박막의 증착율은 기판온도 180~230˚C에서 20~125Å/min 정도로 낮은 값을 보였으며, 특히 기판온도 190˚C에서는 매우 얇은 두께 (700Å)이면서 낮은 비저항(2.8μΩcm)을 갖는 Cu 박막이 형성됨을 알 수 있었다 He 운반기체와 함께 환원가스(H2) 및 화학첨가제 (H (hfac) ligand)의 첨가 실험에서는 낮은 기판온도 (180~190˚C) 구간에서 현저하게 증착율이 증가하였으며 얇은 두께 (~500Å)의 Cu 박막이 낮은 비저항(3.6~2.86μΩcm)을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 얇은 두께의 MOCVD Cu박막들의 표면 반사도(reflectance)는 300˚C에서 열처리한 sputter Cu의 반사도에 근접하는 우수한 surface morphology를 보였다 결국, (hfac)Cu(1,6-DMCOD) 전구체를 이용하여 얻어진 MOCVD Cu박막은 얇은 두께에서 낮은 비저항을 갖는 우수한 막질을 보였으며, Electrochemical deposition공정에서 conformal seed layer로써의 적용이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.
