To promote the efficiency of production process of small and medium sized company, government conducts production information business that collects and analyzes information of production field automatically and helps process' controlling and supervising by supporting costs of purchase, installment, etc. of hard-software and network related to middle and small sized company intending e-Manufacturing of production field with computer and information & communication network. As a result, the number of middle and small sized companies that introduce and manage production information system is increased. Therefore, the purposes of this research are to arrange contents of production information system introduced to solve current problems of middle and small sized companies and analyze effects of small and middle sized companies' introduction through example companies.
A manufacturing information system, which collects manufacturing information from the shop floors and supply them to higher level systems, should be maintained and upgraded according to the change of production environment such as new product introduction. This situation leads to the need of a cost-effective system development methodology. In this paper, a methodology based on the classification and the similarity comparison of manufacturing processes is proposed. In this, a new product is classified according to the similarity of its manufacturing processes, which enables recycling of existing system modules. The proposed methodology has been tested in the case of an electronics parts manufacturing company, where an information system is implemented. The result shows that the proposed methodology can save time and efforts for system implementation
This study analyzes the new GMCF method applied by the company with the aim to find out how the production of Accounting Information Systems (AIS) implemented by the company can be managed properly. The study also seeks to find out whether the company needs new system support facilities to facilitate the production performance reporting process of each division and evaluate the performance of GMCF systems in the company. The methods used are descriptive analysis techniques and statistical tests of Paired Sample T-Test comparison; this study uses production data of each unit of a product with random sampling to determine the level of product damage and compare production with the GMCF system and prior to using it. The results of the analysis found that the application of goods mutation control forms (GMCF) greatly influenced the smooth production reporting process, which resulted in an increase in achieving production targets and reducing the risk of product damage during the production process. The company also benefits from the efficiency of production costs when using the GMCF system and can quickly design policies for products that are damaged during the production process. In addition, the company can have damaged products repaired faster than before.
Purpose - The study sought to examine the relationship between individual characteristics and system features and Human Resource Information System (HRIS) success in Japanese manufacturing companies in Malaysia.
Research Design, Data, and Methodology – This study adopt quantitative approach to investigate the relationship between individual characteristics and system features and HRIS. Toward this objective, a total of 700 questionnaires were mailed to a representative of the organization. A total of 187 questionnaires were returned, and only 145 were usable for further analysis, representing a response rate of 20.71%.
Result - Results indicated that individual characteristics and two dimensions of system characteristics (ease of use and training) were significantly related to HRIS success. Unexpectedly, the results showed that the third dimension of system features (documentation) was unrelated to HRIS success.
Conclusions - The results partially support the underlying arguments that individual characteristics and system characteristics have significant influences on HRIS success. The finding suggests that HRIS success in the organization can be generated as a result of good implementation of system support and employees’ readiness to apply HRIS in their jobs.
