부여 송국리유적에서 플라스크형적색마연호가 처음 알려진 이래 오랜 시간이 지났고, 발굴조사의 폭증 속에서 무문토기 자료는 엄청난 증가 추세에 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 전형적인 플라스크형적색마연호의 수량은 예상외로 많지 않고, 이에 대한 개별 연구도 잘 이루어지지 않고 있다. 전형의 경우 기고와 동최대 경의 계측치 분포가 대단히 좁은 범위에 한정되어 있는 점에서 다른 토기에 비해 어느 정도 규격화되어 있었을 가능성이 있다. 플라스크형적색마연호는 대단히 한정된 시기 동안만 사용되었기 때문에 세밀한 편 년보다는 계통 및 기능의 파악이 더 필요하다. 플라스크형적색마연호의 분포 범위는 자료가 증가한 현재에도 이전과 큰 차이를 보이지 않아 안정된 분포권으로 보아도 좋을 것이다. 송국리형주거지 및 송국리식 토기 등은 분포 범위가 매우 넓은 반면, 플라스크형적색마연호는 송국리유형의 여러 요소 가운데 금강중 하류역에 한정되는 매우 좁은 분포권을 이루고 있다. 이것의 계통에 대해서는 평양 남경유적의 미송리형 토기에 주목하기도 하였지만, 파수와 횡집선문의 부재는 물론 금강유역에 대동강유역 무문토기의 영향이 거의 보이지 않는 점을 지적할 수 있다. 그 대안으로 전기 후반의 보령 주교리 18호 출토 적색마연호에서 관창리 801호 출토 적색마연호를 거쳐 송국리 플라스크형적색마연호의 등장으로 보는 것이 형식적인 연결로서는 가장 무난하다. 금강유역의 유적에서는 주거지 외에도 저장수혈에서 플라스크형적색마연호가 출토되는 사례가 적지 않 다. 주거지의 경우에도 벽면에 접하여 설치된 저장수혈에서 출토되기도 하는 등 저장과 관련된 출토 정황 이 다수 확인된다. 또 금강중하류역을 벗어난 지역에서는 진안 농산유적에서만 전형에 가까운 플라스크형 적색마연호가 출토되었는데, 해당 유구는 수혈이었다. 적색마연호 자체가 의례와의 관련성이 강한 점을 고려할 때, 아직 확실한 근거는 부족하지만 이러한 수혈에서 출토되는 플라스크형적색마연호는 저장과 관련된 의례에 사용된 특수 용기일 가능성도 없지 않을 것이다. 그렇다면 플라스크형적색마연호의 분포권은 특정 기물을 공통으로 하는 의례의 권역이면서, 어느 정도 규격화된 의례 용기의 사용이라는 공통의 규제가 작동하고 있었던 집단의 범위를 보여주는 것은 아닐까.

Flask-type pottery was known at first Songguk-ri Site in Buyeo. Despite the increase in the quantity of excavation and typical Flask-type Pottery did not increase significantly. In addition, individual study for Flask-type Pottery is not being done well. It is possible that typical Flask-type Pottery has been standardized to some extent than the other pottery. It was used only for a very limited time. Therefore we should focus on function rather than its detailed relative date. In the current distribution range of Flask-type Pottery is not much difference with the previous. Songguk-ri type Dwelling and Songguk-ri type Pottery seems a very wide distribution range. On the other hand, Flask-type Pottery among the many elements of Songguk-ri Culture forms a very narrow distribution range limited to the Geum River basin. It has been recognized that Misong-ri type Pottery is associated with genealogy of Flask-type Pottery. But Flask-type Pottery is likely to emerge in the course of changes of red burnished pottery in the Korean Peninsula. And in the site of the Geum River basin, it is excavated dwelling as well as storage feature. Besides red burnished pottery itself is closely related with the ritual. Definitive evidence is still lacking. But it is estimated that Flask-type Pottery is special bowl associated with storage ritual. Then distribution range of Flask-type Pottery can be understood to represent a range of common ritual.
