목적 : 본 연구는 작업치료 전공 재학생들의 재활보조공학에 대한 인지도와 필요성에 대한 인식수준을 알아보고, 재활보조공학의 교과과정 도입을 위한 기초 자료를 제시하는 것이다.
연구방법 : 2006년 12월 중 전국의 약 43개 작업치료(학)과 중 6개 학교를 무작위 추출하여 재학중인 학생들을 대상으로 설문조사를 하였다. 총 315부의 설문지를 배포하여, 312부의 설문지를 회수하였으며, 각 항목에 대하여 빈도분석을 사용하였다.
결과 : 재활보조공학에 대하여 알고 있는 학생들은 76.8%를 차지하였으나, 재활보조공학에 대한 정보의 만족도에서는 68.3%가 만족하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 작업치료에서 재활보조공학의 역할이 중요하다고 생각하는 학생들이 84.3%를 차지하였고, 재활보조공학이 재활 및 치료에 효과성이 높을 것이라는 비율이 90.7%로 나타났다. 작업치료 교과과정에 재활보조공학의 도입이 필요하다는 응답의 비율은 72.7%로 나타났으며, 일상생활용 장치, 인지 재훈련, 신경근골격 재훈련이 작업치료와 관련된 재활보조공학의 분야로 나타났다.
결론 : 작업치료분야에서 재활보조공학에 대한 인식도에 대한 연구가 전무한 상황에서 인식도를 높이기 위한 기초연구로써 그 의미를 두고 있으며, 향후 작업치료분야와 재활보조공학에 대한 다양한 연구가 이루어져야 할 것이다.
Object : The purpose of this study were to analyze the awareness and necessity for assistive technology(AT) for occupational therapy students, and to present the basis for establishing an assistive technology curriculum.
Methods : The survey was conducted among occupational therapy students. Data were collected from 6 of 43 colleges by random sampling in December 2006.
Results : 76.8% of occupational therapy students were aware of AT, but 68.3% of them were dissatisfied with information related to AT. 84.3% of respondents thought AT played an important role in occupational therapy(OT), and 90.7% of them thought it had an effect on rehabilitation and occupational therapy intervention. 72.2% of the participants replied that an AT needs to be incorporated into OT curriculum. The fields of AT related to OT were daily living equipment, cognitive retraining technologies, neuromuscular retraining technologies and physical agent modalities.
Conclusion : This study was designed to provide an awareness of how the use of AT can be beneficial to the field of OT, and further research is warranted to establish the relationship between OT and AT.
