본 연구는 아시아의 창의적 접근 국가에서 봉사와 선교 사역을 하는 선교사들을 대상으로 근거이론을 활용하여 소진에서 회복탄력성 으로 가는 과정을 연구하고 분석하였다. 본격적으로 탐색한 연구 질문 은 “아시아의 창의적 접근 국가에서 활동하는 선교사의 소진과 회복탄 력성은 어떠한가?”이다. 본 연구를 위해 2020년 5월에서 9월까지 23명의 연구참여자들을 심층면담하여 자료를 수집, 스트라우스와 코 빈이 체계화한 근거이론의 절차(1998, 제2판)를 주로 활용하여 분석하 였다. 최종적으로 도출한 개념은 모두 691개이고, 126개의 하위범주를 생성하였으며, 이를 25개의 범주로 분류하였다. 그 결과 핵심범주는 “안팎에서 허물어진 소진을 넘어 성찰과 성숙의 회복을 경험하며, 단단해진 정체성의 기초 위에서 주체적인 선교사로 다시 나아감”으로 나타났다. 또한 소진에서 회복탄력성으로 이어지는 과정 분석을 하였 고, 이와 연동하여 9단계의 정체성 상태를 도출하였다. 본 연구는 선교사의 소진과 회복탄력성 과정에 따른 정체성 변화를 이론화함으로 써, 선교사들을 지원하는 멤버케어 정책 수립을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하는 데 그 의의가 있다.

This study analyzes the process from burnout to resilience for missionaries who do missionary work in Asia’s creative approach nations. The research question is “How about the burnout and resilience of missionaries working in Asia’s creative approach nations?” For this study, from May to September 2020, twenty-three research participants were interviewed in depth to collect data and analyzed. There were 691 final concepts, and 126 subcategories were created, which were classified into 25 categories. The process from burnout to resilience was analyzed, and in connection with this, 9 stages of identity were derived. This study is meaningful in providing basic data for establishing member care policies to support missionaries by theorizing identity changes of missionaries.
