Compact fluorescent lamps are strongly encouraged to manage separately in Korea because Compact fluorescent lamps contain mercury. Compact fluorescent lamps have managed as household waste in Korea, however, even though Compact fluorescent lamps contains hazardous material such as mercury. The aim of management of Compact fluorescent lamps separately is to reduce the release of mercury from Compact fluorescent lamp lamps into the environment and to reuse of the glass, metals and other components of Compact fluorescent lamps. The amount of mercury in a fluorescent lamps varies, depending on the type of lamp and manufacturer, but typically ranges between 5 milligrams and 30 milligrams. The mercury content of fluorescent lamps has been reported to be between 0.72 and 115 mg/lamp with an average mercury content of about 30 mg/lamp in 1994. Although manufacturers have greatly reduced the amount of mercury used in fluorescent lamps over the past 20years, mercury is an essential component to fluorescent lamps and can’t be eliminated completely in lamps. In the crushing process, CFL(compact fluorescent lamp) is separated into glass, plastic, ballast, phosphor powder and vapor. Using the crushing technique, concentration of mercury vapor emission from CFL is evaluated. Through the experiments, the efficiency of the crushing and separation for the unit is estimated by measuring the volume of CFL. In this study, the concentration of mercury is analyzed by MVI(Mercury Vapor Indicator) method for vapor in CFL. From the results of mercury distribution for 3 companies, the concentration of mercury in compact fluorescent lamp is less than that in the other type lamps. And phosphor powder has greater than 99% of total mercury amount in CFL and the mercury concentration in phosphor powder is measured between 1,008ppm and 1,349ppm. The mercury concentration in phosphor powder can be changed by the type of company and period of usage. KET and TCLP are carried out for phosphor powder, glass, plastic, ballast and base cap to estimate the hazardous characteristic. From the results of KET and TCLP test for CFL, phosphor powder from CFL should be controlled separately by stabilization or other methods to reuse as a renewable material because the phosphor powder is determined as a hazardous waste. From the results of characteristics of CFL, the carbonization system of CFL should be carried out in the temperature of less than 350℃. The amount of mercury in a fluorescent lamps varies, depending on the type of lamp and manufacturer, but typically ranges between 5 milligrams and 30 milligrams. The mercury content of Compact fluorescent lamps has been reported to be between 0.72 and 115 mg/lamp with an average mercury content of about 30 mg/lamp in 1994. In Korea, demonstration for recycling of U type lamps had once begun in the area of Seoul Metropolitan, 2000. In 2004, U type lamps was included as an item in EPR(Extended Producer Responsibility) system. According to Korea Lighting Recycling Association, approximately 38 million Compact fluorescent lamps were recycled in Korea, 2011 because 3 recycling facilities for Compact fluorescent lamps are operated in Korea. Recycling rate of Compact fluorescent lamps in Korea is about 31.0% but about 70% of Compact fluorescent lamps may not manage properly. Hence, discarded lamps release approximately 2 to 3 tons of mercury per year into the environment[6]. In USA, Compact fluorescent lamps has controlled by Universal Waste Rule and merchandises containing mercury prohibited to produce. Also, MEBA(Mercury Export Ban Act) is activated in USA from 2013. According to Association of Lighting and Mercury Recycler, member companies accomplish about 85% of the lamp recycling done each year. In Germany, best available technology (BAT) system for recycling of Compact fluorescent lamps is established and about 20 companies are involved in recycling of Compact fluorescent lamps. In 1994, approximately 70-80% of total Compact fluorescent lamps are recycled in 1994 and Compact fluorescent lamps was included as an item in EPR(Extended Producer Responsibility) system in 1996. In Sweden, MRT System, which was developed by Lumalampan, separated mercury from Compact fluorescent lamps by distillation operation, 1979. Reverse route collection system is active to improve the collection of Compact fluorescent lamps. Compact fluorescent lamps was included as an item in EPR(Extended Producer Responsibility) system in 2001. In Austria, about 40 companies are involved in recycling of Compact fluorescent lamps to recycle glass and ferrous metals. And wastes containing mercury are treated in landfill site by using special container [7,8]. In this study, Compact fluorescent lamps is cut by a end-cutting unit with a cam crusher and base-cap is separated from glass part. In the end-cutting unit, a vacuum system is operating to collect mercury vapor to prevent leaking from the end-cutting unit. First of all, characteristics and major composition of Compact fluorescent lamps are estimated. Through the experiments, it is measured mercury concentration in the parts of Compact fluorescent lamps such as glass tube, phosphor powder, and base cap after separation in the end-cutting unit. Also, it is evaluated mercury emission from Compact fluorescent lamps by measuring the concentration of effluent gas in the end-cutting unit with changing flow rate. Finally, Korea Extraction Method (KET) and TCLP(Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure) test are applied to phosphor powder to verify that phosphor powder is a hazardous waste [9].

The estimated that 114 million units of fluorescent lamp are sold every year, and that 70% or more spent fluorescent lamps (SFLs) are generated at business sites. According to Korea Lighting Recycling Corporation, recycled amount of SFLs selected as EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) items from 2004 has been improved from 35,250,000 units in 2010 to 37,950,000 units in 2011, which recorded the greatest amount. Based on the year 2011, SFLs have been recycled by 31.5%, but their recycled rate is insufficient yet, compared to the recycling rate of metal cans or glass bottles, which are about 80%. The base cap of SFLs as a raw material was used in this experiment. Base cap contains an insulation sieve plate, aluminum cap, copper terminal, tempered glass, filament, and copper/iron mixed wire that goes through this glass. In order to protect a filament that is made up of tungsten for the electricity to flow, circular plate consisted of iron encloses the filament. Separating apparatus of SFL base cap used in this experiment is a device which has used impact crushing technique using hammer, screen separation and magnetic separation for the purpose of recovering aluminum, copper and iron contained in SFL. Impact hammer crusher, a device that separates aluminum from other materials by hammer impaction on the base cap that is separated by end-cutting, causes a significant reduction for other materials to be included in the collectible materials by separating aluminum, copper and iron from the base cap by using hammer crusher at 3 stages. Iron was collected by using a magnetic separation unit and the collectible materials were separated into aluminum with larger particles, and glass and other materials with smaller particles by screen separation. The separation performance was estimated for the 3 stages of hammer crusher unit to recover aluminum from the base-cap of SFLs and the separation performances are 94% at the 1st stage, 97% at the 2nd stage, and 98% at the 3rd stage, respectively.

MFG-E8 (Milk fat globule-epidermal growth factor VIII), also called lactadherin or BA46, SED1 is a glycoprotein found in milk and mammary epithelial cells, it is a major protein component associated with milk fat globule membrane. Previously, our study showed that expression of MFG-E8 is gradually increased with hepatic differentiation of human embryonic stem cells (hESCs). Therefore, we hypothesized that MFG-E8 would be an early cancer stem cell marker, which may predict cancer progression. Our results showed that MFG-E8 was expressed in various human cancer cell lines such as HepG2, Hep3B, and Huh7. Production and secretion of the MFG-E8 were also confirmed in the conditioned media of those three cell lines using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Next, we analyzed the MFG-E8 expression in 11 clinical cases of cholangiocellular carcinoma (CC) and 33 cases of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) by immunohistochemistry and examined the potential correlation with β-catenin and AFP, which are known cancer markers. According to hitological criteria, the progression of HCC and CC was evaluated and classified into high, low, metastatic, and well-, moderate-, poor-differentiated, respectively. Statistical analysis indicated that incidence of both HCC and CC is significantly associated with male compared to female (P<0.05). Tumor size also has positive correlation with age (r2=08948). Our immunohistochemistry data showed that MFG-E8 was expressed both HCC and CC tissue. Interestingly, the MFG-E8 expression was significantly increased with cancer progression (P<0.05) in both cases. Additionally, b-cateninexpression was increased and its localization was changed from membrane to cytoplasm and nucleus with the degree of HCC. Likely b-catenin, AFP was also increased with the degree of HCC but it was not correlated with severalty of CC. Importantly, both AFP and b-catenin were highly co-localized with MFG-E8 in HCC. These results suggest that MFG-E8 may have important physiological roles and its expression in HCC and CC would be considered as an important prognostic factor.

Hepatocytes derived from human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) may be a useful source for the treatment of diseased or injured liver. However, a low survival rate of grafted hepatocytes and immune rejection are still major obstacles to be overcome. We previously showed that secreted proteins (secretome) from hESC-derived hepatocytes had a potential therapeutic power in the tissue repair of injured liver without cell transplantation. The purpose of the present study was to discover key protein(s) in the secretome of hESC-derived hepatocytes using proteomic analysis and to study the tissue repair mechanism which may be operated by the secretomes. Purified indocyanine green+ hepatocytes derived from hESCs displayed multiple hepatic features, including expression of hepatic genes, production of albumin, and glycogen accumulation. The nano-LC/ESI-QTOF-MS analysis identified 365 proteins in the secretome of hESC-derived hepatocytes and the protein functional network analysis was conducted using the MetaCore TM from GeneGO. In addition, 20 tissue regeneration-related transcription factors (TFs) were extrapolated through further proteomic analysis. After intraperitoneal injection, the secretome significantly promoted the liver regeneration in a mouse model of acute liver injury. Protein functional network analysis on the secretome-induced regenerating liver confirmed 20 transcription factors (TFs) which were identified in the ICGhigh cells. The upreguation of these tissue repair-related TFs were validated by qPCR and western blotting on the regenerating liver tissues. These results demonstrate that application of the secretome analysis in combination with the protein functional network mapping would provide a reliable tool to discover new tissue-regenerating proteins as well as to expand our knowledge of the mechanisms of tissue regeneration.

In oocytes from different species, MPF, a complex of Cdk1 and cyclin B, is the master regulator of cell cycle. The activity of MPF is regulated by the phosphorylations mediated by Wee1B kinase and Cdc25B phosphatase. Although a regulation of MPF activity by these inhibitory phosphorylations are well established, a dogma in the cell cycle is that MPF activity is regulated by the dynamics of cyclin B during the metaphase II (MII) arrest (also known as CSF arrest). However, growing evidences suggest that Wee1B-mediated Cdk1 phosphorylation is also critical to trigger the progression of cell cycle during the onset of anaphase. Therefore, in the present study, we investigated the role of Cdc25B phosphatase during MII arrest. Cdc25B is present in MII arrested oocytes as a hyperphosphorylated form and disruption of its function either by antibody or siRNA injection induces the progression of cell cycle to interphase. Moreover, the hyperphosphorylated form, which has been known as an active form of Cdc25B, is dephosphorylated during the anaphase onset. Interestingly, this dephosphrylation occurred ahead of cyclin B degradation. Conversely, overexpression of Cdc25B prevents metaphase to anaphase transition induced by calcium stimulation. Therefore, our findings provide novel paradigm in cell cycle that MPF activity during metaphase arrest is regulated by the balance between Cdk1 inhibitory kinases, Wee1, and the counteracting phosphatases, Cdc25. When cells exit from metaphase, Cdc25 is inactivated and Wee1 is reactivated and thereby Cdk1 kinase activity is rapidly and transiently decreased. This initial decrease of Cdk1 activity is further promoted by the proteolytic degradation of cyclin B, which ensures irreversible progression of cell cycle to interphase. Thus, the concerted effort of phosphorylation/dephosphorylation of Cdk1 and synthesis/degradation of cyclin B play roles in fine-tuning the activity of Cdk1 during metaphase to anaphase transition.

During implantation, endometrial cells undergo functional and structural changes, and support the successful embryo development. This reaction is known as decidualization and is critical to placental formation and to prevent the uterine functions. This progress is achieved by complex communication of regulators such as hormones, cytokines and growth factors. Some of the TGF-b superfamily members such as inhibin, activin, TGF-β, and bone morphogenetic proteins (BMP) involve in uterine modulation during pregnancy. Müllerian inhibiting factor (MIF) is a member of TGF-β superfamily and regulate folliculogenesis, but its expression and roles in uterus are not clear. In this study, we investigated the expression of MIF and its receptor Ⅱ in decidualizing endometrium. Interestingly its expression was detected in the fully decidualized cells. Its receptor II was detected in undifferentiated stromal cells. MIF expression was increased by decidual maturation and MIF receptor II was decreased by decidual reaction. MIF expression was induced by estrogen and its receptor II was increased by only progesterone in the stroma cells primed with estrogen. In the uterus of delayed implantation model mice, MIF expression was peak after 6 hr of estrogen administration. MIF receptor II expression was not induced. It means that MIF and MIF receptor II are expressed in the stroma cells with the specificity on physiological status. Based on them, it is suggested that MIF may work as paracrine factors in uterus during decidualization.

Capsinoids which were found recently in non-pungent pepper show the same biological effects as capsaicinoid including anticancer and anti-obesity. A precursor of capsaicinoids, vanillyl alcohol, is known to be produced by mutations in the p-aminotransferase (pAMT) gene. In the previous study, we showed that capsinoid production is also controlled by the capsaicin synthase (CS) gene. However correlation between the CS gene expression and capsinoids contents has not been fully understood. This study was conducted to elucidate correlation between the expression level of CS gene and capsinoids contents. Through germplasm screening, we identified one C. chinese pepper cultivar, SNU11-001, which contained capsinoids as much as C. annuum ‘CH-19 Sweet’. SNU11-001 was crossed with five Capsicum cultivars (ECW, Takanotsume, Yuwolcho, Habanero and Jolokia) containing different levels of capsaicin, ‘ECW’ is non-pungent pepper line, and ‘Takanotsume’ and ‘Yuwolcho’ have mild pungency, and ‘Habanero’ and ‘Jolokia’ is known to be included in the most pungent pepper lines. When we analyzed the expression of CS and pAMT genes using the six Capsicum cultivars, the expression levels of CS were higher in pungent Capsicum cultivars. To test whether the expression levels of CS also control capsinoids contents, we will analyze several F2 populations derived from crosses between SNU11-001 and Capsicum cultivars containing different levels of capsaicin.

A male gametophyte, or pollen develops in the anther, and its development plays an important male reproductive process in flowering plants. A properly designed transgene construct can help to tailor transgene expression in plants by altering the expression strength, timing, and location. In this process, the promoter plays a pivotal role in controlling transgene expression. In this research, the promoter regions of rice anther/pollen-specific genes, named as OsMSP1 to OsMSP11,were selected from the microarray data sets covering 4 developmental stage of male gametophyte and then used for the construction of vector by Gateway cloning method and transformed into rice and Arabidopsis. All 11 promoters in rice and 9 in Arabidopsis were displayed as anther/pollen-specific/preferential genes by GUS assay and RT-PCR analysis. Three out of 11 promoters showed consistent results with published data. In this study, we demonstrated on eight new anther/pollen-specific or -preferential promoters (OsMSP1, OsMSP2, OsMSP3, OsMSP4, OsMSP5, OsMSP6, OsMSP8, and OsMSP9, which have not been reported before. Although the expression pattern of different genes active in pollen grains is diverse and complex, these experimental results would be helpful to understand the molecular mechanism of regulatory elements in rice microspore/pollen-specific genes.

Anomalous X-ray pulsars (AXPs) are thought to be magnetars which are young isolated neutron stars with extremely strongmagnetic fields of >1014 Gauss. Their tremendous magnetic fields inferred from the spin parameters provide a huge energyreservoir to power the observed X-ray emission. High-energy emission above 0.3 MeV has never been detected despiteintensive search. Here, we present the possible Fermi Large Area Telescope (LAT) detection of γ-ray pulsations above 200MeV from the AXP, 1E 2259+586, which puts the current theoretical models of γ-ray emission mechanisms of magnetars intochallenge. We speculate that the high-energy γ-rays originate from the outer magnetosphere of the magnetar.

In this paper, I discuss a semantic aspect of the null degree word/operator in Korean clausal and phrasal comparatives to suggest the following: First, the null degree word in Korean comparatives can be replaced with overt deictic degree words (cf. Choe (2012)). Second, -pota may license a generic or a specific phrase, but not a non-specific phrase. Third, while deictic degree words in Korean are ambiguous between specific and non-specific, the null (deictic) degree word in Korean comparatives is non-specific so that -pota may not come directly after the "stripped" compared constituent containing the (non-specific) degree word. During the discussion, to explain a certain cross-linguistic difference between Korean and English, I also suggest that the null degree word in English can be ambiguous between specific and non-specific, unlike the one in Korean, and that the null degree word of the "stripped" compared constituent should be specific in English, because than also cannot license a non-specific phrase.

Purpose - This study will focus on motivation of temporary workers working in distributors as well as generic companies, especially MPS (motivating potential score) proposed by job characteristics model. We think that temporary workers required intrinsic motivation in order to commit with their organization because they are difficult switch-regular workers due to glass ceiling. Research design, data, methodology – This study operates a survey targeting temporary workers, specifically, we used 144 copies except uncollected copies and dishonesty response of total 165 copies on analysis. We used multiple regression and 3 step regression to investigate the proposed model. Results - The high level of perceived distributional justice and procedural justice was increased the level of organizational commitment, respectively. And, MPS was increased the level of organizational commitment, too. Finally, this study showed that both justice and Job characteristics were very important to increase organizational commitment. Conclusions - In order to inspire temporary workers, the company provides placing enough considering job characteristics as well as fairness of the procedure and distribution. Also, to more fully understand the underlying processes between HRM (Human Resource Management) concepts, new fundamental methods may be required such as switch full-time opportunities.

Manganese () is a trace element that is essential for normal physiology, and is predominantly obtained from food. Several lines of evidence, however, demonstrated that overexposure to exerts serious neurotoxicity, immunotoxicity and developmental toxicity, particularly in male. The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of 0, 1.0, 3.3, and 10 mg/kg/day doses of on the reproductive organs in the immature female rats. Rats (PND 22; S.D. strain) were exposed to () dissolved in drinking water for 2 weeks. The animals were sacrificed on PND 35, then the tissues were immediately removed and weighed. Histological studies were performed using the uteri tissue samples. Serum LH and FSH levels were measured with the specific ELISA kits. Body weights of the experimental group animals were not significantly different from those of control group animals. However, ovarian tissue weights in 1 mg and 3.3 mg dose groups were significantly lower than those of control animals (p<0.05 and p<0.01, respectively). Uterine tissue weights of 3.3 mg dose groups were significantly lower than those of control animals (p<0.01), while the 1 mg dose and 10 mg dose failed to induce any change in uterine weight. Similarly, only 3.3 mg dose could induce the significant decrease in the oviduct weight compared to the control group (p<0.05). Non-reproductive tissues such as adrenal and kidney failed to respond to all doses of exposure. The uterine histology revealed that the exposure could affect the myometrial cell proliferation particularly in 3.3 mg dose and 10mg dose group. Serum FSH levels were significantly decreased in 1mg dose and 10 mg groups (p<0.05 and p<0.01, respectively). In contrast, treatment with 1 mg dose induced a significant increment of serum LH level (p<0.05). The present study demonstrated that exposure is capable of inducing abnormal development of reproductive tissues, at least to some extent, and altered gonadotropin secretions in immature female rats. Combined with the well-defined actions of this metal on GnRH and prolactin secretion, one can suggest the might be a potential environmental mediator which is involved in the female pubertal process.

Berthing and unberthing maneuver is essential work for marine pilots and securing the safety against risks during the maneuver is more important than anything else. Moreover, the maneuvering environment in ports and harbors has changed rapidly and got worse due to development of a new port, the advent of a new type or large-sized ship, and the rapid increase in harbor traffic. As one of measures taken to cope with such changes in the maneuvering environment and for each pilot to improve his own maneuvering ability, this paper developed laptop-based ship-handling simulator which is readily available anytime and anywhere. This paper is to develop a conning display for ship's maneuvering and electronic chart based display widely used nowadays to represent a model ship's movement. The displays were arranged appropriately considering pilot age, easy handling by mouse, using a maximum screen, proper arrangement of rudder, engine, thruster, tug etc and representation of information. Up to now thirteen (13) model ships were developed based on real-ship, whose mathematical model is Japanese MMG & pilots' low speed maneuver.

Pollen development in flowering plants is regulated by a comprehensive pattern of genes. One way to produce hybrid rice based on nuclear male sterility is to find out firstly the potential promoters that function specifically in anthers since it is a specific site for transcription initiation and play key roles for the spatial and temporal expression of the genes. To implement this objective, we were selected promoter region of 16 genes based on the expression pattern of microarray and then those were introduced into the promoterless final destination vector which containing the GFP and GUS reporters genes. The resulting twelve vectors were transformed into monocotyledonous rice (Oryza sativa L) and a dicotyledonous Arabidopsis as heterologous system. Minimum 20 plants for each vector were analyzed by histochemical GUS assay at the flowering stage in Arabidopsis. 9 vectors out of 12 vectors constructed were expressed exclusively at the anther, especially in pollen, however one vector exhibited expression in stigma. For rice, T-DNA insertion were confirmed with specific primers in each promoter and GFP region. All T0 transgenic plants contained T-DNA insertion in their genome. This study would provide valuable information for biotechnological application for the induction of male sterility in plants.

The transport of nascent messenger RNA from the nucleus to the cytoplasm is mediated by the THO/TREX complex and is evolutionary conserved from yeast, metazoa and humans. However, in plants, it is still yet unclear if the similar mechanism of transport exists. Here we identified and characterized a mutant gene, AtTHO2, a putative Arabidopsis thaliana THO2 component protein, homologous to yeast THO2 of the THO/TREX pathway required for mRNA transport. The mutation from this gene resulted to various developmental defects that include semi-dwarfism and abnormal floral development which further leads to sterility. Gene expression analysis revealed that AtTHO2 is expressed in all organs and pollen developmental stages. In addition, the homozygote progeny of null mutants did not persist until mature stage. These results suggest an indispensable role of AtTHO2 in the development of Arabidopsis. Differential gen expression and silencing were also observed between the null mutants and wild type depending on T-DNA insertion. Furthermore, alternative splicing which was tightly linked with the THO/TREX pathways was also defective on AtTHO2 and null mutants. A similar pattern of defect in SR34a was observed in the AtTHO2 and null mutants. In terms of microRNA biosynthesis, no significant differences were seen on the wild-type and mutant plants; however this data should be validated. Thus this work provides some evidences that a similar THO/TREX complex exist in plants and gave a foundation for further studies on the mechanism of nuclear export in plants.

A diverse number of genes are involved in the floral transition and development to ensure the proper timing on the switch from vegetative to reproductive development in Arabiodopsis. MADS-box genes play a major role in floral development especially in the case of vernalization process, In this study we mapped a mutation in MAF5 encoding a MADS-domain protein which was reported to be up-regulated during vernalization and regulates flowering time. The mutant in MAF5 showed several pleiotropic phenotypes that includes semi-dwarfism, delayed senescence and abnormal pollen phenotype, High percentages of vacuolated and aborted pollen phenotype were observed in the mutant plant. Transmission efficiency showed that mutation from this gene was defective in both male and female gametes. Furthermore, gene expression analysis revealed that this gene was predominantly expressed in reproductive organs and gave a strong expression in the mature pollen which coincides with the defect in pollen phenotype. The results from this study provide some evidences on the additional role of MAF5 in pollen development however more specific approaches should be done to determine the specific stages of pollen development altered in this mutant.

Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer, commonly known as Korean or Asian ginseng, is a perennial herb which is native to Korea and China. Its roots are highly prized for several medicinal properties. Therefore, Ginseng has been a top-ranked subject of many fields of scientific research worldwide. However, very limited number of research work has been published on species authentication using DNA marker system. In this study, 22 simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers were used to analyze the genetic diversity and population structure of 167 ginseng cultivars from 11 regions and 10 breed varieties. A total number of 111 alleles were detected, with an average of 5.05 per locus. The average expected heterozygosity and polymorphism information content (PIC) for SSR locus were 0.35 and 0.30, respectively. The model-based structure analysis revealed that 66.5% of all cultivars could be grouped into three populations with inferred value (allele shared >70%) membership. More than 33% of tested cultivars derived from two ancestries, which was basically consistent with clustering based on genetic distance. Almost all of the cultivars shared the ancestry with S1 and S2 except 1 China Jilin and 3 USA cultivars. The result indicated that most of Korean ginsengs are closely interrelated between the two ancestors but USA ginsengs are totally different from Asian cultivars.

The Korean people consume a lot of hot peppers. Despite its popularity and importance, genetic mechanism determining the content of capsaicinoid has not been understood yet. Since the inheritance of capsaicinoid content is thought to be controlled by quantitative trait loci (QTLs), a well-constructed genetic population and well-organized approach method to study genetic inheritance are required. Here we show the scheme to find the QTLs controlling capsaicinoid content using a recombinant inbred lines (RILs) obtained from a cross between C. annuum, Perennial and C. annuum, Dempsey. We measured capsaicinoid contents of each line for QTL analysis. In addition, total 24 qualitative and quantitative traits of RILs were phenotyped. Phenotyping data can be used to construct another QTL map controlling agricultural trait. An ultra high density linkage map constructed by sequencing RILs will used for QTL nalaysis. We are expecting that this study will be useful to breed high-quality and pungent pepper cultivars by molecular breeding method.
