        A comprehensive understanding of actinide coordination chemistry and its structure is essential in many aspects of the nuclear fuel cycle, such as fuel reprocessing, waste management, reactor safety, and non-proliferation efforts. Managing radioactive waste generated during the nuclear fuel cycle has recently become more important, accordingly increasing the importance of designing appropriate waste forms and storage solutions for long-term waste disposal. Compared to the increase in the need for understanding the chemistry of major radioactive elements, the information on the local structure of the radioactive elements, especially actinides, remains unknown. To probe this issue, X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) can be applied. By analyzing the EXAFS (extended X-ray absorption fine structure) and XANES (X-ray absorption near edge structure), the local structure around atoms can be determined. However, the radioactive properties of the nuclides hindered the measurement of EXAFS and XANES, due to the difficulties of preparation, containment, and transfer of the sample. To measure the EXAFS of various compounds regarding the back-end nuclear fuel cycle, laboratory-based EXAFS (hiXAS, HP spectroscopy) has been introduced which can measure the EXAFS and XANES at the energy range of 5-18 keV. Compounds of Copper (Cu foil, CuO samples), Zirconium (Zr foil), and Europium (Eu2O3) were used for the verification of the laboratory -based EXAFS at a given energy range. The measured EXAFS spectrum of various compounds exhibit good agreement with the theoretical data, showing an R-factor of less than 0.02. It was found that each graph has a first peak corresponding to 2.55Å for Cu foil (Cu-Cu), 1.93Å for CuO samples (Cu-O), 3.23Å for Zr foil (Zr-Zr), and from 2.32Å to 2.34Å for Eu2O3 (Eu-O), which agree well with other values from the literature. From the result, it can be implied that this equipment can be used especially in the back-end nuclear fuel cycle field to enhance the understanding of local structure in radiochemistry.

        Molten chloride salts have received considerable research attention as potential nuclear fuel and coolant candidates for molten salt reactors. However, there are several challenges, especially for structural materials due to the selective dissolution of chromium (Cr) in the molten chloride salts environment. Understanding the compatibility of uranium (U), which is used as nuclear fuel in molten salt reactors, with Cr in molten chloride salts is critical for designing the molten salt reactor structure. Therefore, in this study, the cyclic voltammetry (CV) was used to investigate the electrochemical behaviors of U and Cr. The diffusion coefficients and formal potentials were obtained. The electrochemical properties of uranium and chromium were investigated by CV in molten NaCl-MgCl2 salt at 600°C. Tungsten rods for working and counter electrode, and Ag/AgCl for reference electrode were utilized in this experiment. UCl3 made from the chemical dissolution of U rods and CrCl2 (Sigma-Aldrich, 99.99%) were used. Diffusion coefficients (D) of U and Cr were calculated by measuring reduction peak current of U3+/U and Cr2+/Cr from CV curves and using the Berzins-Delahay equation; D (U3+/U) = 3.0×10-5 cm2s-1 and D (Cr2+/Cr) = 3.3×10-5 cm2s-1. The formal potentials were also calculated by using the reduction peak potential obtained from CV results; E0’ (U3+/U) = -1.173 V and E0’ (Cr2+/Cr) = -0.321 V. The ionization tendency was investigated by comparing each reduction peak potential. The reduction peak potential Ep,c was increasing order of Ep,c (U3+/U) < Ep,c (Cr2+/Cr) < Ep,c (U4+/U3+). It can be seen that in the presence of U4+ and Cr metals, the Cr in the alloy can dissolve into Cr2+, but in the presence of U3+ and Cr metals, the Cr in the alloy does not dissolve into Cr2+. By analyzing the CV curve, diffusion coefficients and formal standard potentials were obtained. The result of comparing reduction peak potentials suggests that the nuclear fuel using U4+ should be inhibited to prevent the selective dissolution of Cr.

        The ultimate objective of deep geological repositories is to achieve complete segregation of hazardous radioactive waste from the biosphere. Thus, given the possibility of leaks in the distant future, it is crucial to evaluate the capability of clay minerals to fulfill their promising role as both engineered and natural barriers. Selenium-79, a long-lived fission product originating from uranium- 235, holds significant importance due to its high mobility resulting from the predominant anionic form of selenium. To investigate the retardation behaviors of Se(IV) in clay media by sorption, a series of batch sorption experiments were conducted. The batch samples consisted of Se(IV) ions dissolved in 0.1 M NaCl solutions, along with clay minerals including kaolinite, montmorillonite, and illite-smectite mixed layers. The pH of the samples was also varied, reflecting the shift in the predominant selenium species from selenious acid to selenite ion as the environment can shift from slightly acidic to alkaline conditions. This alteration in pH concurrently promotes the competition of hydroxide ions for Se(IV) sorption on the mineral surface as the pH increases and impedes the selective attachment of selenium. The acquired experimental data were fitted through Langmuir and Freundlich sorption isotherms. From the Freundlich fit data, the distribution coefficient values of Se(IV) for kaolinite, montmorillonite, and illite-smectite mixed layer were derived, which exhibited a clear decrease from 91, 110, 62 L/kg at a pH of 3.2 to 16, 6.3, 12 L/kg at a pH of 7.5, respectively. These values derived over the pH range provide quantitative guidance essential for the safety assessment of clay mineral barriers, contributing to a more informed site selection process for deep geological repositories.

        This program aims to build a specialized and converged educational platform for the training of students in the back-end nuclear fuel cycle and cultivate integrated human resources encompassing majors, generations, and fields. To achieve this, we have established an infrastructure for integrated education and training in the radiochemistry and back-end nuclear fuel cycle and operated specialized educational courses linked with special lectures, experimental practices, and field trips. Firstly, to construct an integrated educational and training infrastructure for the back-end nuclear fuel cycle, we formed a committee of experts from both inside and outside the institution and built an advanced radiochemistry laboratory equipped with physical and chemical analysis instruments. Through a comprehensive educational program involving theory, experiments, and discussions, we have established an integrated curriculum across adjacent majors and interdisciplinary studies. We also operate short-term education and experimental training programs (e.g., summer and winter schools for the back-end nuclear fuel cycle). Secondly, the program has connected leading researchers domestically and internationally, as well as the next generation of scholars. The program offers long-term educational opportunities and internships targeting both undergraduate and graduate students. To support this, we continuously offer expert colloquiums and individual research internships. Through regular committee meetings and workshops, we focus on nurturing the integrated talents necessary for the back-end nuclear fuel cycle. Through this program, students from various fields are being trained as competent integrated human resources capable of addressing various issues in the back-end nuclear fuel cycle. It is expected that this will enable us to supply specialized technical personnel in the back-end nuclear field in line with mid-to-long-term demands.

        Radioactive waste can be classified according to the concentration level for radionuclides, and the disposal method is different through the level. Gamma analysis is inevitably performed to determine the concentration of radioactive waste, and when a large amount of radioactive waste is generated, such as decommissioning nuclear facilities, it takes a lot of time to analyze samples. The performance of a lot of analysis can cause human errors and workload. In general, gamma analysis is performed using by HPGe detector. Recently, for convenience of analysis, commercial automatic sample changers applicable to the HPGe detectors were developed. The automatic sample changers generate individual analysis reports for each sample. In this study, gamma analysis procedure was improved using the application of the automatic sample changer and the automated data parsing using by Python. The application of automatic sample changers and data parsing technique can solve the problems. The human errors were reduced to 0% compared to the previous method by improving the gamma analysis procedure, and working time were also dramatically reduced. This automation of analysis procedure will contribute to reducing the burden of analysis work and reducing human errors through various improvements.

        IAEA safety standards document and international programs (such as BIOMASS) related to the assessment of the biosphere around High Level Radioactive Waste (including Spent Nuclear Fuel) repositories require the assessment of the biosphere to use the assumption that the current natural environment and human society will be maintained, and at the same time, the evolution of the distant future changes also need to be taken into account. In Korea, which has not designated candidate disposal sites, it is necessary to investigate and predict the current state and future changes of the natural environment throughout Korea and apply it practically to Biosphere assessment (for BDCF derivation) for candidate disposal sites suitability assessment and Safety Case (for performance assessment) preparation for design, construction, operation, and post-closure management. To this end, the natural environment in the fields of Topography, Geology, Soil, Ecology, Weather and Climate, Animals and Plants, Hydrology, Ocean, Land-use, etc. and human society in the fields of Population Distribution, Spatial-Planning, Urban Form, Industrial-Structure, Lifestyle etc. are being investigated in the context of current status, past change records, and future change potential in the Korean Peninsula. This paper summarizes those investigations to date. This study referred Biomass-6 [IAEA] and National Atlas I (2019)/II (2020)/III (2021) [National Geographic Information Institute of the Korea Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport].

        문학 번역은 작가나 시인의 상상력을 통한 창조력과 예술성이 농축된 언어의 결과물을 타 언어로 재창조하는 과정이다. 따라서 번역가/번역기계는 표면적 의미뿐만 숨겨진 의미에 대한 고차원의 번역 능력과 기술 이 요구된다. 무엇보다도 문학 번역은 단순한 언어의 전환이 아닌, 문화와 작가/시인과 독자를 연결해주는 소통의 미학이 되어야 하는 점이 중요하다. 이 글에서는 엘리엇의 마지막 시중 하나인 크리스마스 트리의 수양과 프로스트의 크리스마스 트리를 기존의 번역과 기계번역을 서로 비교해 보았다. 크리스마스 트리의 수양에서 기계번역은 예수 그리스도의 재림을 기쁨과 두려움, 그리고 경이로움으로 바라보려는 한 노인/시인의 마음을 잘 드러내지 못했다. 또한 크리스마스 트리에서도 도시와 도시인의 냉정하고 차가운 이미지를 간과하기에 도시를 빛나던 장소로 오인하게 하였다. 이처럼 기계번역은 시인이나 작가의 의도를 파악하지 못하고 표면적인 묘사나 단어 나열에 그칠 수 있는 위험성을 다분히 보인다. 따라서 문학에서 기계번역은 당분간 인간번역에 종속적으로 사용될 필요가 보인다.

        The purpose of this study is to explore spatio-temporal patterns of extreme low human-sensible temperature (HST) across Mt Halla (1,950m), Korea. To do this, decadal (2011/12-2020/21) averages of daily or hourly windchill index (WCI), which quantifies HST considering the combined effects of low temperature and strong wind, are calculated for 24 weather stations in Mt Halla. Time series of decadal average daily mean show that extreme low HST events with moderate risk level (-27~-10°C) occur in mid-winter (mid-January~early February) around the high mountainous areas of Mt Halla, while such risk does not exist in the low-elevated coastal regions of Jeju Island under subtropical climate. Strong wind around the subalpine climate belt lowers HST by 5°C than air temperature in mid-winter. In extreme cases when the advection of northerly cold wind is intensified by the west high-east low pressure pattern in East Asia, the HST around the peak of Mt Halla can be lowered to high risk level (-39~-28°C) in the early morning times of mid-winter days. These information about mountain bioclimate may help establish mountain extreme climate warning systems, which are needed to protect mountaineers from potential life-threatening accidents caused by extreme low HST events over high mountains such as Mt Halla.

        This research tests the effects of institutional pressures, the use of performance measurement systems and accountability, and moderation effects of human resource capability between institutional pressures and the use of performance measurement systems in the Local Government institutions in Indonesia. The research aims to provide empirical evidence both quantitatively and qualitatively that isomorphism institutional pressures occurred in the scope of implementation of the performance measurement system and accountability in the public sector organizations and to show the importance of human resource capability enhancement in reducing external pressure impact. In addition, it tries to develop the correlation model of institutional pressures, human resource capability, implementation of the performance measurement system, and accountability of public sector organizations. The research used mixed methods with sequential explanatory design. The data collection used surveys and interviews in 209 regency/Special Region of Yogyakarta and Central Java local governments as samples. The research result indicated that the institutionalization process of the performance measurement is influenced by institutional pressures, especially coercive and mimetic pressures. Human resource capability was unable to weaken institutional pressures effects in the performance measurement system implementation. The research also proved that the use of a performance measurement system was able to improve local government institution accountability.

        The present study aims to investigate the impact of tourism growth on human development in Indian economy. For this purpose, the study uses annual data from 1980 to 2018 and utilizes two proxies for tourism growth – tourism receipt and tourist arrivals – and uses human development index calculated by UNDP. The study uses control variables such as government expenditure and trade openness. The study employs auto regressive distributed lag (ARDL) approach to investigate the cointegrating relationship among the variables in the model. Further, the study also explores the causal nexus between tourism sector and human development by using the Toda-Yamamoto Granger non-causality test. The result of ARDL bounds test reveals the existence of cointegrating relationship between human development indicators, government expenditure, trade openness, and tourism sector growth. The cointegating coefficient confirms a positive and significant relationship between tourism sector growth and human development in India. The causality result suggests that economic growth and tourism have a positive impact while trade openness has a negative impact on human development in India. The major findings of this study suggest that tourism plays an important role in the socio-economic development of Indian economy in recent years and the country must develop this sector to achieve sustainable development.

        This study analyzes human development convergence and the impact of funds transfer to the regions using σ and β-convergence analysis method. Observations were made in all Indonesia’s provinces in the period 2010-2019. The coefficient of variation calculation shows a dispersion in the inequality of human development, which means that convergence occurred. This is also documented by the clustering analysis results developed in the study. The results are in line with the hypothesis of neoclassical theory, which shows the tendency for provinces with lower human development levels to grow relatively faster. The dynamic panel data approach with the GMM model shows that a model built with explanatory variables for transfer of funds to regions may lead to the process of convergence of human development – 2.21% per year or 31 years to cover the half-life of convergence. This is a consequence of the Special Allocation Fund and the Village Fund, which positively impact the convergence process, and the General Allocation Fund and the Revenue Sharing Fund with negative signs slowing the convergence process. This evidence opens opportunities to review the justification of the weighting component in determining the amount of funds transferred to the region to accelerate the convergence process of human development.

        『네 사중주』창작의 기본 바탕은 “번트 노턴”에서 “리틀 기딩”에 이르 기까지 엘리엇이 직접 방문한 체험 혹은 경험에 있다. 그러나 단순히 사실을 기록하는 차원을 넘어서서 엘리엇은 자신이 경험한 영적 체험을 정서와 감정을 배제한 채 정확하게 표현하려고 시도했다. 물론 그 과정이 결코 순탄한 것만은 아니었음을 『네 사중주』를 통해서 알 수 있다. 엘리엇의 체험은 물론 기독교 시인으로서 그가 하나님과 만난 순간을 의미하는 것이며 또한 『네 사중주』만을 위한 체험이라기보다는 이미 이른 시기에도 이와 유사한 체험이 있었음을 알 수 있다. 또한 그 체험은 명상이나 요가에 의해 출현된 것이 아닌 일상생활을 통해서도 가능하며 매우 짧을지라도 이 순간은 시간과 공간에서 벗어나게 된다.

        This study seeks to determine the effect of the application of accounting information system (AIS), internal control system, and human resource (HR) competency on the quality of local government financial statements (FS). This study uses agency theory and compliance theory. Agency theory is used to explain that there is a link between the society as the principal and the government as the agent. Compliance theory is a theory, which states that every agency is obliged to comply with regulations because the law-drafting authority has the right to dictate behavior. The population in this study were employees of the financial division of local government organizations in one of the districts in Central Java, Indonesia. The total samples in this study was 106 respondents. The data used are primary data taken from distributing questionnaires to respondents. The method of analysis used to test the hypothesis was multiple linear regression analysis. The results of hypothesis testing indicate that HR competency has an effect on the quality of FS; however, the application of AIS and internal control system has no effect on the quality of FS. The implication of this research underlines the importance of HR competency to improve the quality of local government FS.

        This paper examines how human capital and other economic variables, such as private investment, economic growth, government investment, inflation, and unemployment influence inequality in Indonesia’s provinces. We apply panel data model with fixed effect estimation for the data of 34 provinces from the period 2013 to 2019. We develop a new index for human capital using the education index approach. The results show that human capital has a negative and significant effect on income inequality. An increase in human capital is related to an increase in knowledge and competence due to the longer average school year and expectations of the school year. Human capital has increased the possibility of a person being accepted into the job market and earning a higher income; hence, it lowers income inequality. We also find that inflation leads to a higher gap of income distribution. A further implication of this situation is that the rise in inflation causes an increase in low-income people, and as a consequence, makes their lives worse off. This paper will be beneficial for policy-makers for whom human capital, which is measured using an education index, is an important factor that significantly affects income inequality, in addition to other economic factors.

        This study aims to analyze the relationship of e-HRM implementation to employee performance both directly and indirectly through the intervening of the Human Resource service Quality variable, both practically and theoretically. This study uses variance-based structural equation modeling (SEM) techniques with partial least square (PLS) statistical testing tools to test the direct relationship of e-HRM and the performance and relationship moderated by Human Resources service quality tested on 200 civil servants in five offices under the coordination of the Government of the South Sulawesi Province of Indonesia. The data collection model in this study uses an online survey. The data analysis stages through the explanatory concept consist of, first, the interpretation of the distribution of the average frequency of respondents’ answers; second, outer-loading; third, determination of the validity and reliability; fourth, the coefficient of determination test and partial test; fifth, the GoF model; sixth, validity test; and seventh, hypothesis testing. This study explores four hypotheses in a comprehensive fashion; the results of this study show that all hypotheses have positive and significant effects both through direct and intervening relationships. Among the three direct relationships, the relationship of e-HRM variables on HR Service Quality is greatest and most dominant.

        This research seeks to explain factors and relationship models of entrepreneurs capable of building service innovations in Andaman coast with the ultimate aim to ignite sufficient development of regional tourism, increase working potentials, and provide a guideline for tour operations. Initially, document examination and discussions with five experts were conducted to build in-depth interview questions. 19 entrepreneurs were interviewed to examine factors involved and we consulted later with the five experts and six successful entrepreneurs in the regions, as well as with the representatives of the Association of Thai Tour Operators and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) of Phuket, Krabi, and Trang. The results were analyzed according to the theory of resource-based and innovative entrepreneurs. The factors obtained were generated from systematic causes: Nature of Entrepreneurships and Organizational capabilities, the mediator variables of Service Innovation Capability; and Organizational Performance (non-finance). Moreover, the external factors needing to be adjusted regarding the environmental changes were described. The tour operators are suggested to build networking to increase tourism potential with sustainability by providing the entrepreneurs opportunities to be involved in tourism development, accessing the knowledge, technology and innovations resulting in sustainable tourism, quality livelihood, and sustainable ecological management of communities.

        본 연구 결과들을 바탕으로 도깨비부채 잎(RPL)은 GSK3β 활 성화를 통해 IκB-α를 인산화시켜 단백질 분해를 유도하고 Iκ B-α 분해로 인해 p65 핵내 전이를 유도하여 NF-κB 신호전달을 활성화?시킨다. 이러한 NF-κB 신호전달 활성화를 통해 대장암 의 세포생육을 억제하는 것으로 추정된다. 본 결과는 도깨비부채 잎을 소재로 항암을 목적으로 한 천연치료제 및 대체보완소재 개발에 활용할 수 있다고 판단된다. 그러나 도깨비부채 잎의 대장암에 대한 세포생육 억제와 작용기전의 정확한 관련성과 세포생육 억제활성 물질 분석을 위해 추가적인 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

        본 연구에서 상동나무 가지 추출물(STB-E100)은 대장암 세포에서 세포사멸을 유도하여 세포생육을 억제하였다. 또한 Iκ B-α 인산화를 통한 IκB-α 단백질 분해를 유도하며 이로 인해 P65 핵내 전이를 유도하여 NF-κB 신호전달을 활성화시킨다. NF-κB 신호전달 활성화는 GSK3β 활성화를 통해 P65 핵내 전 이를 유도에 의한 것이지만 IκB-α분해는 GSK3β 의존성이 아니다. 상동나무 가지 추출물은 이러한 신호전달 활성화를 통해 세포사멸을 유도하여 대장암의 세포생육을 억제한다. 본 결과를 바탕으로 상동나무 가지가 암 예방 및 치료를 목적으로한 표적 요법에서 항암제 개발의 잠재적 활용 소재로서 이용 가능하다고 사료된다. 그러나 대장암 세포에서 상동나무 가지 추출물에 의해 유도된 NF-κB 신호전달 작용기전을 좀 더 구체적으로 구명할 필요가 있고 대장암에 대한 세포사멸과 작용기전의 정확한 관련성을 조사하기 위해 추가적인 연구가 필요하다.
