        In this study, algorithms for analyzing the torsion of buildings under earthquake excitation are developed. The algorithm and formulations to account for the torsional angle are verified by analyzing the seismic acceleration time history data. The method was applied to the reference buildings to examine their operation and usability. The reference application demonstrated that the noise-canceling scheme successfully overcame various obstacles in the field measurements. The developed method is expected to be used as a tool to support a loss assessment system for determining the direction and priority of disaster response in the event of an earthquake.

        Unlike accidents on land, marine accidents can not be supported rapidly from the outside. For this reason, The initial response and damage control system are critical. Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) reported the necessity of the damage control system to IMO in the early 2000s. Even though the installation of these systems is not compulsory, the damage control system is installed and operated in about 60 cruises. The key component of damage control system is supporting the decision-making using 'KILL Card'. The purpose of study is to develop the shipboard training scenario for the foundation of 'KILL Card'. We made scenarios for fire and flooding through the analysis on existing scenarios, marine accident case and relative regulation. The suggested shipboard training scenario based on damage control system enables the crew to response with rapid decision-making to damage in emergency situations.

        Natural frequency changes of an in-service concrete bridge have been monitored to analyze the dynamic characteristic according to temperature and embedded depth changes. 7 acceleration sensors are attached to the bridge, and 11 time impact experiments have been done using the impact hammer. The natural frequency has a trend to drop as the surface temperature of the body goes up. And it also has a trend to decrease as the embedded depth of the bridge foundation increases.

        Structural dynamic characteristics are obtained by analysing responses of seismic acceleration measuring system obligatorily installed in public structures. Emergency structural safety estimation using these data supports decision making of a structure manager when an earthquake or a strong vibration happens. And proper standards for structural safety are suggested by cumulative statistical analysis. For these reasons, it is necessary that comprehensive analysis and management system indicates analysis results based on GIS(Geographic Information System). This system is developed with comprehensive analysis algorithms and data processing procedures. Various information through the system is served for structural safety management.

        5층 이하 비내진상세를 가지는 철근콘크리트 건축물의 지진시 긴급 위험도 평가를 위한 부재의 정량적 손상도 평가 기준을 제시하기 위하여 실대형 크기의 철근콘크리트 1층 1경간 골조 실험체의 정적실험을 실시하였다. 실험결과, 실험체는 기둥의 휨항복후 전단파괴에 의하여 파괴되었으며, 기둥과 접합부에 균열, 압괴 등의 손상이 발생한 반면, 보에는 균열 등의 손상이 거의 발생하지 않았다. 이와 같이 비내진 상세를 가지며 휨항복후 전단파괴하는 철근콘크리트 기둥의 손상도를 5단계로 분류하고 손상단계별 한계상태를 평가하기 위한 정량적 기준으로서 지진시 상대적으로 측정이 용이한 잔류 층간변형각과 잔류 균열폭을 이용하였다. 손상한계상태의 잔류 층간변형각 및 잔류 균열폭은 실험결과에 따른 손상한계상태의 최대 층간변형각과의 관계에 의하여 결정하였으며, 한계 최대 층간변형각은 실험결과에 의한 부재의 하중-변형 관계 및 손상발생 현황을 바탕으로 결정하였다. 한계 잔류 층간변형각은 해당 최대 층간변형각에 의한 잔류 층간변형각 중의 최대값 이상이 되도록 하였으며, 한계 잔류 균열폭은 해당 최대 층간변형각에 의한 잔류 전단균열폭의 최소값 및 잔류 휨균열폭의 평균값으로 결정하였다. 한편, 본 논문을 통하여 제시한 손상한계상태의 잔류 층간변형각과 잔류 균열폭은 지진으로 동일한 부재 변형이 발생할 경우 내진설계가 실시된 부재를 대상으로 하는 국외 손상도 평가 기준에 의한 값보다 작은 것으로 나타났다.

        According to the test result with a non-seismic reinforced concrete specimen with one span and one story, it was considered that the method of simply measuring a story drift ratio using a sinker was comparatively effective for comparatively damaged members when evaluating the post-earthquake safety of buildings.

Also it is necessary to develop the algorithms of ground for earthquake disaster response system in NEMA. This is a study to improve the reliability for damage estimation. We compared foreign cases to find a development direction which can be applied to the earthquake disaster response system.

        This study proposed immediate estimation method for structural integrity using acceleration responses after earthquake. Generally, structural damage detection searching for changes in the natural frequencies by acceleration data. However structure’s natural frequency is changed without damage because of various environmental factors. So that reason, we suggested structural safety estimation procedure using various indicators from analyzing acceleration data. This method is not exactly evaluated structural damage, but using this method is simple to make a decision.

        This study proposed simplified design procedure of friction damper for enhancing structural seismic performance. Friction damper has a nonlinear characteristic as performing stick and slip motion. So that reason, design of friction damper is difficult. For easy design of damper, first, equivalent damping ratio of the friction damper is derived. Second, design procedure is proposed by the equivalent damping ratio. Finally, seismic performance of structure installed with the friction damper is verified by five earthquake data.

        To evaluate the post-earthquake damage status of URM buildings in Korea, damage state level from the Earthquake Disaster Response System is classified and static test results of 20 URM walls, dynamic test results of 1 URM building are analyzed. From the analysis results, damage state, maximum story drift ratio and residual story drift ratio regarding to the each damage state level are suggested.

        The purpose of this study is to consider site effect in order to estimate Soil-Structure and attenuation parameters with a greater degree of reliability. Site amplification is calculated by proposed Nakamura (H/V ratio). The site amplifications using acceleration motion were compared at several sites. The result can be used for the study of site classification and removal of the site amplification effects.

        The change of natural frequency according to seismically damaged reicforced concrete (RC) frames was evaluated by using shaking table test results of full-scale one-span RC frame. As the damages of cracks and yields of reinforcing bars were occurred, the frequency decreased. The frequency got decreased to about a half of the initial frequency when the RC frame specimen collapsed.
