        In this study, the change of cooling water temperature (72, 85, 95 ℃) and engine speed (1,800, 2,000, 2,200, 2,400rpm) were experimentally investigated to confirm the operation performance characteristics of auxiliary engine for refrigeration unit. The experimental setup consisted of fuel consumption meter, power meter, and heat transfer unit. The operation performances such as BSFC, exhaust temperature, power generation, and engine efficiency of the auxiliary engine showed similar characteristics in the present experimental range, according to the change of cooling water temperatures and rpms. As the torque increased, the BSFC decreased significantly and the exhaust temperature increased. The power generation increased linearly and the efficiency was insignificant at more than 40 Nm torque.

        In this study, the performances of the refrigeration unit for the box under actual operating conditions were examined by using the constant temperature and humidity chamber (air enthalpy method). For this purpose, the degree of superheat, pressure, and temperature were measured while changing the EEV opening, the compressor speed, the outdoor temperature, and the load in the refrigeration cycle of the refrigeration unit. The highest cooling performance was found at EEV 33%. However, EEV 35% with low compression ratio and degree of superheat was the most reliable in terms of reliability. Considering the compressor speed and cooling performance, the refrigeration unit was in an optimal condition at the compressor speed 3,040RPM. The results of this study will be provided as basic data for the optimal design of refrigeration units for box.

        This study analyzes the certification system and international standard trend for cold storage and proposes evaluation method for the development of KS in accordance with international standards so that high quality products can be supplied to consumers. The international standard for cold storage can be divided into three categories: refrigerator unit, refrigerator warehouse, and cold chain. Each similar standard was analyzed and studied. Among them, AHRI's international standard is the most advanced standard, so test methods and conditions are matched. Finally, the performance evaluation technology and the performance evaluation technology for the refrigerator unit suitable for the domestic situation using the analyzed method were proposed.

        In this study, the cooling capacity and the pressure drop of a condenser for 10kW refrigerator unit were experimentally investigated. The performance characteristics of the condenser was studied by changing the fin shape(4 types), fin pitch(5 types), tube row(4 types) and air flow rate(6 types), using the calorimeter. The optimum heat exchanger specifications were selected by comparing the capacity and the pressure drop of the condenser. In order to select the heat exchanger suitable for the condenser for 10kW refrigerator unit, both the cooling capacity and the pressure drop should be considered. From the condenser performance test by pin type, the wavy pin was selected. The optimal performance of the condenser for 10kW refrigerator unit was observed at the fin pitch of 3 mm, the tube row of 4 row, and the air flow rate of 90㎥/min.

        This experimental study was conducted to investigate the refrigeration cycle performance of a 10kW refrigerator unit using R404A refrigerant. The capacity, COP, and refrigeration cycle of the refrigerator unit were confirmed by changes in refrigerant charging amount and degree of superheat. The cooling capacity and COP of the refrigerator unit showed different tendency according to changes in refrigerant charging amount and degree of superheat. It was confirmed that the performance changes of the refrigerator unit were more dependent on the change in degree of superheat than the refrigerant charging amount. From the capacity, COP, pressure, and p-h diagram, the refrigeration cycle of the refrigerator unit showed the greatest capacity and COP at 4℃ for degree of superheat and 7,400g for the refrigerant charging amount.

        In this study, the air-side cooling capacity and pressure drop of an evaporator for a refrigerator unit were experimentally investigated. Using the calorimeter, the performance of the evaporator was verified by changing the fin shape, fin pitch, tube row and air flow rate. The experimental apparatus consisted of the calorimeter which functioned as a constant temperature and humidity chamber and the refrigeration cycle. In order to select the heat exchanger suitable for the evaporator, both air-side cooling capacity and pressure drop should be considered at the same time. From the evaporator performance test by pin type, wavy pin was selected. The optimal performance of the evaporator was observed at the fin pitch of 5 mm, the tube row of 6 row, and the air flow rate of 40㎥/min.
