        This study examines the seismic failure of RC low-rise building structures having irregularities at the ground story during the 15 November 2017 Pohang, Korea, earthquake, Mw = 5.4, which is the second strongest since the government began monitoring them in 1978 in South Korea. Some 2,000 private houses were damaged or destroyed in this earthquake. Particularly, serious damage to the piloti story of RC low-rise residential building structures of fewer than five stories was observed within 3 km of the epicenter with brittle shear failure of columns and walls due to severe torsional behavior. Buildings below six stories constructed before 2005 did not have to comply with seismic design requirements, so confinement detailing of columns and walls also led to inadequate performance. However, some buildings constructed after 2005 were damaged at the flexible side of the piloti story due to the high torsional irregularity. Based on these results, this study focuses on the problems of the seismic torsion design approach in current building codes.

        In this study, to estimate the combination of earthquake magnitude (Mw) and distance (R) corresponding to the design spectrum defined in Korean Building Code (KBC) 2016, the response spectra predicted from the attenuation relationships with the variation of Mw (5.0~7.0) and R (10~30km) are compared with the design spectrum in KBC 2016. Four attenuation relationships, which were developed based on local site characteristics and seismological parameters in Southern Korea and Eastern North America (ENA), are used. As a result, the scenario ground motions represented by the combinations of Mw and R corresponding to the design spectrum for Seoul defined in KBC 2016 are estimated as (1) when R =10 km, Mw = 6.2~6.7; (2) when R = 15 km, Mw = 6.5~6.9; and (3) when R = 20 km, Mw = 6.7~7.1.

        For earthquake loss estimation of building structures in Gangnam-Gu district in Seoul, three scenario earthquakes were selected by comparison of the response spectra of these scenario earthquakes with the design spectrum in Korean Building Code (KBC 2009), and then direct losses of the building structures in the Gangnam-Gu district under each scenario earthquake are estimated. The following conclusions are drawn from the results of damage and loss in the second scenario earthquake, which has a magnitude = 6.5 and epicentral distance =15 km: (1) The ratio of building stocks undergoing the extensive and complete damage level is 40.0% of the total. (2) The amount of direct economic losses appears approximately 19 trillion won, which is 1.2% of the national GDP of Korea. (3) About 25% of high-rise (over 10-story) RC building wall structures, were inflicted with the damage exceeding moderate level, when compared to 60% of low-rise building structures. (4) From the economical view point, the main loss, approximately 50%, was caused by the damage in the high-rise RC wall building structures.

        Observations of the damages to high-rise reinforced concrete (RC) wall building structures caused by by recent earthquakes in Chile (Mw 8.8, February 2010) and New Zealand (February 2011, ML 6.3) have generally exceeded expectations. Firstly, this study estimated the seismic damage levels of 15-story RC box-type wall building structures using the analytical models calibrated by the results of a shaking table test on a 1:5 scale 10-story RC box-type wall building model. Then, the seismic fragility analysis of the prototype model was conducted by using the SAC/FEMA method and the incremental dynamic analysis (IDA). To compensate for the uncertainties and variability of ground motion and its impacts on the prototype model, in the SAC/FEMA method, a total of 61 ground motion records were selected from 20 earthquakes, with a magnitude ranging from 5.9 to 8.8 and an epicentral distance ranging from 5 to 105km. In the IDA, a total of 11 ground motion records were used based on the uniform hazard response spectrum representing a return period of 2,475 years. As a result, the probabilities that the limits of the serviceability, damage control, and collapse prevention would be exceeded were as follows: from the SAC/FEMA method: 79%, 0.3%, and 0%, respectively; and from the IDA: 57%, 1.7%, and 0%, respectively.

        본 발표에서는, 팔라듐계 수소분리막의 구성과 원리, 응용분야, 국내외 연구기관별 연구현황 및 한국에너지기술연구원에서 진행한 연구결과를 소개한다. 다공성지지체의 표면에 치밀질 팔라듐계 합금을 코팅하여, 수소를 선택적으로 분리할 수 있는 분리막의 특성, 모듈구성, 이를 이용한 CCS 공정에 적용예를 통하여 설명한다. 구체적인 내용으로, 1. 분리막 제조부분에서는, 평판형 다공성 니켈지지체 표면에 컬럼형태의 세라믹을 일차적으로 코팅하고, 이의 표면에 팔라듐을 코팅해서 치밀화는 공정을 설명한다. 2. 모듈 부분에서는, 모듈형태에 따른 수소플럭스와 회수율에 미치는 영향을 설명한다. 3. 개발한 분리막/모듈을 이용한 응용공정 소개를 통하여 이의 활용성 및 향후 연구방향을 제시한다.

        This paper briefly introduces the design seismic loads in Korea (KBC 2009). Then, over 10,000 recorded earthquake ground accelerograms, with their magnitude ranging from 4.0 to 8.0 and their epicentral distance ranging from 0 to 200 km, were used to examine the appropriateness of seismic load defined in Korea known as a low-to-moderate seismicity region. The following conclusions are drawn based on the results: (1) The effective peak ground accelerations (EPA) of recorded earthquake accelerograms under M ≤ 6.0 and R ≥15 km appear to be less than that of MCE in Korea for all site conditions defined in KBC 2009. (2) The design spectrum (two-thirds of the intensity of MCE) in KBC 2009 is comparable to those of earthquake records in the magnitude 6 - 7 and the epicentral distance less than 50 km. Therefore, (3) the intensity of Korean design earthquake is considered to be overly high since the Korea peninsula is generally conceived to be a low-seismicity region.

        우리나라 공동주택의 대부분을 이루는 철근콘크리트(RC) 벽식 구조의 지진에 대한 거동을 예측하기 위해 신뢰성이 있으며 사용하기 간편한 해석모델의 수립이 필요하다. 본 논문은 기 수행된 RC 전단벽 부분구조의 횡 하중 반전주기 실험결과를 기준으로 하여 PERFORM 3D에서 가용한 RC벽 요소 및 보 기둥 요소 해석모델을 응용하여 최대한 실험결과와 근접한 결과를 주는 모델을 수립하였다. 전체 및 국부거동에 있어서 이 해석결과를 실험결과와 비교함으로써 해석의 신뢰성과 한계성을 확인함과 동시에, 실험에서 파악하기 어려운 내부 저항력의 구성, 전체 구조물의 저항 메카니즘에 대한 정량적인 분석을 제시한다.

        시설물의 일원화된 관리를 위해, 2018년 전면 시행된「시설물의 안전 및 유지관리에 관한 특별법」에서는 소규모 시설인 기존의 특정 관리대상시설을 제3종시설물로 편입하였다. 제3종시설물은 규모 및 경과연도가 제3종시설물 범위에 해당하는 시설물 중 실태조사 등을 통해 지정·고시한다. 실태조사 대상 시설물 누락 및 부실점검 방지를 막기 위해 국토교통부와 한국시설안전공단은 2019년 8월「제3종 시설물의 지정을 위한 실태조사 매뉴얼」을 배포하였으며, 본 논문에서는 이 매뉴얼의 작성 취지와 주요 내용을 포함하고 있다.

        본 연구에서는 이미 개발된 BIM 기반 건축물 구조 안전점검 및 유지관리용 COBie(Construction Operations Building information exchange) 문서 및 기록 체계를 검증하기 위한 테스트베드 수행에 앞서, 대상 건축물의 선정 및 안전점검 수준을 결정하고 테스트베드를 수행하는데 필요한 정보를 수집‧기록‧검토할 수 있는 시나리오를 제안하였다.

The purpose of this study is to propose a COBie-based structural maintenance document which can record and review the information with regard to structural safety inspection and maintenance of buildings.
