        췌관내 유두상 점액 종양은 점액 생성과 췌관의 현저한 확장을 특징으로 하는 관내 유두상 종양이다. 드물게 주위 인접 장기와 누공을 형성한 췌관내 유두상 점액 종양에 대해 보고되고 있으며 국내에서는 약 6예만이 보고가 되었다. 61세 남성이 6개월 동안 15 kg의 체중감소와 한 달 전부터 발생한 황달, 식욕저하를 주소로 내원하였다. 복부 전산화 단층촬영 및 자기공명영상에서 췌장의 몸통과 꼬리 부분은 다방성 낭종으로 대체되었으며 췌-십이지장루를 동반하였다. 췌-십이지장루의 입구로 점액이 배출되고 있었고 누공의 입구와 누공을 통하여 조직검사를 시행하였으나 염증세포만 나왔다. 병리진단을 위하여 일반적인 상부 위장관 내시경을 누공을 통하여 삽입하여 췌관 내부를 관찰하였고 융모성 병변에서 조직검사를 시행하여서 췌관내 유두상 점액 종양을 수술 전에 진단하고 이후 췌장의 전절제술을 시행하여서 환자를 치료하였다. 누공을 통한 췌관경 검사가 수술 전 조직검사로 췌관내 유두상 점액 종양을 진단하고 환자의 수술 결정에 도움을 주었기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다.

        Epithelioid hemangioma is an unusual, which was at first described as angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia (ALHE) in 1969 and misinterpreted as the same disease with Kimura’s disease. But now it represents a distinctive vascular tumor, a different entity with those inflammatory conditions. Here, we present a case of epithelioid hemangioma appearing as a diffuse gingival nodular mass in 33‐year‐old male who had suffered from the idiopathic sharp pain of left mandible area previously and later extended to left maxillary region, therefore the gingival lesion was clinically estimated as malignancy associated with neural invasion. CT images revealed the soft tissue mass restricted to left maxillary gingiva without infiltration to underlying maxillary alveolar bone. Histologically, the circumscribed soft tissue mass consist of solid sheets of epithelioid to spindled cells, expressing reactivity for neither cytokeratin AE1/3 nor HMB‐45, but for CD31, endothelial cell marker. Therefore, the lesion was pathologically diagnosed as epithelioid hemangioma. Diagnostic evaluation for the neurologic symptoms of the patient revealed the trigeminal neuralgia, accompanying with the present epithelioid hemangioma incidentally. Awareness of epithelioid hemangioma should be emphasized not to be misdiagnosed as malignant disease like an invasive squamous cell carcinoma, malignant melanoma, or angiosarcoma. Proper evaluation and interpretation for neural symptom may lead to the correct differential diagnosis and therapeutic intervention

        Sialodochitis is an inflammatory disease on salivary gland duct. Although most of sialoadenitis includes inflammatory status of ductal system, an unusual behavior such as localized inflammation only in the duct is rarely observed. Sialodochitis is a very rare disease that was first reported by Kussmaul in 1879.1) Common symptoms of chronic sialodochitis are an excretion of mucous plugs and a swelling of the cheek. Sialodochitis may be associated with a type I hypersensitivity in the salivary duct and parotid gland, because of the large amount of eosinophils in saliva, and the common allergic history such as bronchial asthma and allergic rhinitis. The management of sialodochitis depends on the severity of disease. The surgical procedure such as drainage operation, sialodochoplasty, or superficial parotidectomy can be selected. We report the case of chronic sialodochitis with literature review.

        The hemipteran whitefly Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) is one of the most destructive pests damaging more than 600 agricultural crop species worldwide. The B and Q biotypes are most widely spread in Korea but they are not distinguishable based on morphological characters. In order to search for protein markers that can be employed for rapid and accurate diagnosis of biotypes, two-dimensional PAGE (2DE) in conjunction with mass spectroscopic analysis were conducted. Eleven biotype-specific spots were repeatedly identified during three repetitions of 2DE and analyzed by Q-TOF. One of the B type-specific protein spots was identified as carboxylesterase 2 (Coe2). The transcript level of coe2 was determined to be 6 times higher in B type than in Q type by quantitative real-time PCR. In addition, comparison of genomic DNA sequence of coe2 between B and Q types identified a biotype-specific intron, from which specific primer sets were designed. One-step PCR using these biotype-specific primers successfully distinguished the two biotypes in a high accuracy. Availability of the biotype-specific protein and DNA markers will greatly improve the detection of B. tabaci biotype in the field.
