        The relative contributions of physical and chemical processes to the production of ozone (O3) were evaluated based on an integrated process rate (IPR) analysis using the MM5/CMAQ in a downtown (i.e., Yangsan_U) and suburban area (i.e., Ungsang) on high ozone days during spring and summer in 2006 (28 April and 8 August 2006). The IPR includes a horizontal advection (HADV) and diffusion (HDIF), a vertical advection (ZADV) and diffusion (VDIF), a dry deposition (DDEP), and a chemistry (CHEM). The VDIF in Yangsan_U was found to be the most dominant contributor (29.5% in spring and 32.1% in summer) to high O3 concentrations, followed by the HADV and ZADV. In contrast, the contributions of the HADV (40.3% in spring and 32.3% in summer) in Ungsang were significantly higher than those of VDIF and ZADV. Moreover, O3 production due to the chemical effect in the two areas (especially in Ungsang) during summer was found to be moderately higher than that during spring.

        A narrow loop noise bandwidth method is desirable to reduce the error of raw measurements due to the thermal noise. However, it degrades the performance of GPS initial synchronization such as mean acquisition time. And it restricts the loop noise bandwidth to a fixed value determined by the lower bound of the allowable range of carrier-to-noise power ratio, so that it is difficult to optimally track GPS signal. In order to make up for the weak points of the fixed-type narrow loop noise bandwidth method and simultaneously minimize the error of code and carrier measurements, this paper proposes a stepwise-type adaptive bandwidth algorithm for DGPS reference receivers. In this paper, it is shown that the proposed adaptive bandwidth algorithm can provide more accurate measurements than those of the fixed-type narrow loop noise bandwidth method, in view of analyzing the simulation results between two signal tracking algorithms. This paper also carries out sensitivity analysis of the proposed adaptive bandwidth algorithm due to the estimation uncertainty of carrier-to-noise power ratio. Finally the analysis results are verified by the experiment using GPS simulator.

        Currently serious conflicts of interests are arisen for the use of coastal area in Korea. However, there no mediation program, mediators' consistent policies and reasonable laws to resolve conflict of interests which may be arisen when developing coastal area. The objective of this study is to lay the evaluation criteria for the formalized objective evaluation among disputants of coastal conflicts for the better understanding and characterizing of coastal conflicts in Korea. In order to do so, this study has adopted for the extraction of the evaluation factors to describe the present conditions of conflicts in the selected study area(Sihwa lake), to analyze the problems, and then to explore alternative approaches for resolving the conflicts. As research methodologies, we have depended upon literature review and field survey methods. As field survey methods, we employed structured questionnaires for the various samples from the experts of research institutes, professors, representatives of NGOs and citizens. Survey results suggested that 5 representative elements comprising 35 detailed elements could be identified. Based on these results, this study was able to identify and classify the evaluation factors and help to resolve coastal conflicts in Korea.
