        Visiting animal hospitals can induce significant stress in dogs, potentially adversely affecting their long-term health and behavior. This study systematically analyzed stress responses in dogs during veterinary visits and identified effective mitigation strategies through a comprehensive literature review. We selected using the keywords ‘animal hospital’, ‘veterinary examination’, ‘stress’, ‘handling’, ‘low stress’ and ‘dog’ from the PubMed database, during June 1 to July 31, 2024. A total of 19 studies were included and analyzed. An analysis of the literature showed that the presence of an owner played an important role in alleviating stress levels in dogs. Moreover, the owner's active participation in the inspection process was associated with a significant reduction in the stress response, especially during routine procedures that can cause anxiety. In addition, the implementation of low-stress processing techniques is recommended in order to minimize unnecessary stress, and these tools promote a more positive experience for the dog during the veterinary visit. Thus, the administration of pharmacological interventions such as trazodone and gabapentin prior to veterinary visits was shown to effectively reduce anxiety and stress, contributing to a more favorable overall experience for the animals. The results suggested that the importance of owner involvement, the systematic application of low-stress handling techniques, and careful use of pharmacological agents. Through this study, we believe that veterinary practices can develop a positive relationship with the clinical environment, which can ultimately improve health outcomes and increase well-being for canine patients.

        PVA의 수산화기와 PAA의 카르복실산기 사이의 반응에 의해 가교구조를 갖는 PAA-PVA 막을 제조하였으며 팽윤실험을 통해 순수물, 순수초산 그리고 이들의 혼합물하에서의 가교막들의 팽윤거동을 각각 살펴보았다. 90wt% 초산 수용액하에서의 팽윤실험에서 막에 PAA함량이 높을때 물의 팽윤거동이 초산보다 더 촉진됨이 관찰되었는데 이는 팽윤과정에서의 각 구성 성분간의 짝짓기(coupling) 결과로 사료되며 또한 막의 팽윤비와 가교밀도는 경쟁적으로 투과물의 투과거동에 서로 상반되게 영향을 끼침이 관찰이 되었다. 온도에 따른 투과속도의 Arrhenius 관계에서 구한 투과활성화에너지를 통해 투과성분의 투과거동을 분석하였다.

        인장강도가 2,400 MPa인 강연선이 개발되어 콘크리트구조기준 및 KS 규격에 반영되었다. 고강도 프리스트레스트 강연선이 구조물에 적용되기 위해서는 그에 적합한 정착시스템이 함께 사용되어야 한다. 최근에 2,400 MPa 강연선 적용을 위한 포스트텐션 정착구의 개발이 진행되어왔으나, 성능평가에 대한 연구가 미비한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 2,400 MPa 강연선을 적용한 포스트텐션 정착구 중 가장 활용도가 높은 9 가닥, 15 가닥, 19 가닥 정착구에 대하여 PTI의 Anchorage Design Zone에 의한 국소구역 구조검토를 실시하였고, ETAG013 및 KCI-PS101에 의한 하중전달성능평가를 수행하였다. 또한 비선형 수치해석을 통해 시험의 적절성을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 2,400 MPa 정착구는 국소구역의 구조성능을 만족하고, 하중전달성능 조건을 만족하는 것으로 나타났다.

        This paper describes the experimental results for the structural performance of full-scale coupling beams with different reinforcement layout (diagonal and horizontal). For the reinforcements of the coupling beams, high-strength steel bars(SD500 and SD600) were used in order to improve workability and economic feasibility. The rigid steel frames and linked joints were used to maintain the clear span length (distance between both shear walls) of the coupling beam during the cyclic loading. Experimental results indicated that the diagonally reinforced coupling beam specimen could exhibit more ductile behavior compared to horizontally reinforced specimen. ACI318-14 code is applicable to design of coupling beam with diagonally reinforcement, however, that is overestimating the strength of horizontally reinforced coupling beam. It is remarkable that effective elastic stiffness values of both reinforcement details coupling beam significantly lees than ASCE 41-13.

        A simple in-situ biomethane system to upgrade biogas was developed by using differential solubility of biogas which normally contains 35-45% carbon dioxide (CO2) and 55-65% methane (CH4) by volume. The biomethane system consists of mesophilic plug-flow sorghum digester coupled with a leachate recycle loop to an external CO2 stripper. The leachate produced in the mesophilic plug-flow digester flows to the stripper where dissolved CO2 is removed. Then the leachate that CO2 was completely stripped out is recycled back to the plug-flow reactor, resulting in absorbing CO2 and enriched CH4 contents in digester offgas from the mesophilic plug-flow digester. Offgas CH4 contents was correlated well with leachate recycle rates and alkalinity. To maintain a biogas methane content over 95%, 3 volume of leachate recycle per volume of reactor per day(3 v/v-d) and at the reactor alkalinity of 4 g/L as CaCO3 was required. Even at an intermittent stripping ratio up to 3 hours stripping(N2 sweep gas 700 ml/min) and 1 hour no-stripping, the offgas methane content over 95% was achieved. It thus resulted in a 25% reduction in the total energy and sweep gas consumption. The TVS removal efficiency of the biomethane system was 80 percent which corresponded to 96% of the control reactor. The leachate recycle rates directly affected methane productivity that appeared to be 0.71 v/v-d at 3 volume of leachate recycle per volume of reactor per day(3v/v-d) and at the reactor alkalinity of 4 g/L as CaCO3.

        Efforts were made to identify the optimum operational condition of Semi-continuously Fed and Mixed Reactor(SCFMR) to treat the dairy cow manure and saw dust mixture. Step-wise increase in organic loading rates (OLRs) and decrease in hydraulic retention times (HRTs) were utilized until the biogas volume became significantly decreased in SCFMR at mesophilic temperature (35℃). The optimum operating condition of the SCFMR fed with TS 15% dairy cow manure and saw dust mixture was found to be at HRTs of 30 days and its corresponding OLRs of 4.27 kgVS/m³-day. The optimum ranges of biogas and methane production rates were 1.47 volume of biogas per volume of reactor per day(v/v-d) and 1.14 v/v-d, respectively. This result was due to the high alkalinity concentration of SCFMR fed with the original substrate, dairy cow manure and saw dust mixture whose alkalinity was more than 10,000 mg/L as CaCO3. The parameters for the reactor stability, the ratios of volatile acids and alkalinity concentrations (V/A) and the ratio of propionic acid and acetic acid concentrations (P/A) appeared to be 0.07-0.09 and 0.38-0.43, respectively, that were greatly stable in operation. The Total Volatile Solids(TVS) removal efficiency based on the biogas production was 45.2% at the optimum HRTs. Free ammonia toxicity was not experienced at above 160 mg/L due to the acclimation of high concentration of ammonia by the high reactor TS content above 9.0%.
