        In this study, the wind response characteristics of a transmission tower are investigated through stochastic analysis considering the dynamics of a transmission line, The assemblage of the transmission line and insulator are modeled as a double pendulum system connected to the SDOF model of the tower. It is observed that the background component of the overturing moment induced by the wind response of the transmission line has considerable portion in the total overtuming moment. Based on this observation, a rotational viscoelastic damper is proposed for the suppression of the transmission line response to reduce wind load on the transmission tower. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed damper, time history analysis is conducted for various wind velocities. From the result of the analysis, the proposed damper is proved to be effective in the reduction of the background component rather than the resonance component of the support reaction of the transmission line.

        Serviceability of buildings is affect by excessive acceleration experienced at the top floors in wind storms that may cause discomfort to the occupants. Tuned liquid damper(TLD) and multiple tuned liquid damper(MTLD) are passive control devices that consists of rigid tank filled with liquid to suppress the vibration of structures. This TLD and MTLD are attributable to several potential advantages - low costs; easy to install in existing structures; effective even for small-amplitude vibrations. In this paper, the behavior of TLD and MTLD are investigated analytically and wind tunnel test of high-frequency force balance.

        In this present study to investigate the seismic response of an offshore wind turbine, incorporating with bottom fixed Jacket support structure using semi-coupled analysis method. Fully coupled, aero-servo-hydro-elastic simulations and uncoupled seismic simulation have been done to carry out this investigation. The fully coupled simulation is accomplished and executed by FAST 8 (NREL, USA) to determine the global loads, which consists of six components of forces and moments at x-y-z directions of the tower base. In the uncoupled case, transient analysis has been done using the tower base loads as well as seismic loads by ANSYS. This paper presents a precise dynamic analysis, which can evaluate the dynamic response of three crucial points (tower top, tower base and mud line of substructure) under seismic load to make better decision in the case of structural design of wind turbine.

        세계적으로 기후변화 및 에너지 수요로 인하여, 신재생에너지 개발 수요가 증가하면서, 특히, 풍력에너지에 대한 세계시장이 지속적으로 성장하여왔고, 국내에서도 동일한 제주도를 시작으로 하여, 서남해 지역에도 2.5GW 해상풍력단지의 개발계획이 진행되고 있다. 풍력발전기의 제작기술이 급속히 발전하여 대형화되는 추세에 있고, 안정하면서 경제적이며 효율적인 지지구조물로 버켓기초가 제안되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 버켓기초형식의 지진하중에 대한 거동을 분석하는 실험연구를 수행하였다. 이를 위하여 동적원심모형실험을 수행하였다. 동적원심모형실험은 대전 K-water연구원에 설치되어 있는 대형 빔형 원심모형실험장비(유효반경 8 m, 용량 800 G-ton)에 탑재된 진동대를 활용하였다. 대상 구조물은 1/240 스케일로 축소모형으로 모사되었다. 상부구조물은 NREL 5MW reference turbine과 타워의 제원을 바탕으로 등가의 주파수특성을 가지는 1자유도구조물로 모사하였다. 모형지반은 SP로 분류되는 모래지반에 대해 수행되었다. 2개의 계측기록지진파와 2개의 인공파형이 통제점 기반암에 가진되었고, 거동을 분석하였다. 버켓기초의 지지를 받는 해상풍력타워구조물의 동적특성과 변형특성이 분석되었다. 향후 해상풍력구조물의 내진설계에 중요한 자료가 될 것으로 기대된다. 그러나, 점토지반을 포함하는 지반에 대한 연구가 필요하다.

        신재생 에너지에 대한 세계적인 관심이 증대됨에 따라 풍력발전시장의 성장 및 대형화 또한 지속적으로 이루어지고 있으며 이에 대한 구조적 특성 분석 및 해석에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 풍력발전타워의 형식 가운데 가장 많이 이용되고 있는 원형 강관타워는 여타 토목구조물에 비해 상대적으로 간단한 모델로 구성되지만 구조물의 특성 상 불규칙적인 동적하중이 지속적으로 작용하며 이에 대해 적절한 동적 거동 분석이 필요하다. 구조물의 해석에 있어 정밀한 해석모델을 이용한 해석은 간단한 모델의 그것에 비해 정밀한 결과를 보일 수 있지만 상대적으로 많은 노력과 시간을 요구한다. 효율적인 구조해석을 위해 해석에 사용되는 모델은 가능한 한 간단해야 하지만 구조물의 특성을 반영하지 못 할 정도로 지나치게 간소화해서는 안 된다. 원형 강관 풍력발전타워에 대한 구조해석은 쉘 요소 및 보 요소를 통해 많은 연구가 진행되고 있으며 보 요소 모델에 대한 해석의 편의성을 이용한 해석 시 Tapered 쉘 요소를 주로 Stepped-Beam으로 묘사하여 해석에 이용한다. 본 연구에서는 원형 강관 풍력발전타워의 모델링 방법에 따른 동적 거동을 분석하고 간소화 모델에 대한 구조물의 특성 반영정도를 검토하였다.

        Using the Irregular Waves based on Spectrum, the structural analysis of the hybrid substructure for offshore wind turbines is carried out through ANSY ASAS in time domain. The comparison of numerical results between P-M spectrum and JONSWAP spectrum is made to investigate the ultimate structural safety. It is found that the suggested hybrid substructure can be an effective substructure for offshore wind turbines.

        This paper deals with the response analysis of a floating building structure subject to both wind and wave loads. The hydrodynamic analysis is performed with sets of wind and wave loads selected from the 100-year return period concept to assess the effect of extreme ocean environmental loads on a floating building. From hydrodynamic analysis in time-domain analysis, it is shown that the responses obtained from the analysis in consideration of both wind and wave loads are far greater than those of wave load only.

        In this paper, we analyze the lateral behavior of a jacket substructure for offshore wind turbine embedded in sandy soil, and identify the differences of results by soil modeling methods that are fixed end method, coefficient of subgrade reaction method, coupled matrix method, and p-y, t-z, q-z curve methods.

        The present study examines the morning-afternoon asymmetry of the geosynchronous magnetic field strength on the dayside (magnetic local time [MLT] = 06:00~18:00) using observations by the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites (GOES) over a period of 9 years from February 1998 to January 2007. During geomagnetically quiet time (Kp < 3), we observed that a peak of the magnetic field strength is skewed toward the earlier local times (11:07~11:37 MLT) with respect to local noon and that the geosynchronous field strength is larger in the morning sector than in the afternoon sector. That is, there is the morning-afternoon asymmetry of the geosynchronous magnetic field strength. Using solar wind data, it is confirmed that the morning-afternoon asymmetry is not associated with the aberration effect due to the orbital motion of the Earth about the Sun. We found that the peak location of the magnetic field strength is shifted toward the earlier local times as the ratio of the magnetic field strength at MLT = 18 (B-dusk) to the magnetic field strength at MLT = 06 (B-dawn) is decreasing. It is also found that the dawn-dusk magnetic field median ratio, B-dusk/B-dawn, is decreasing as the solar wind dynamic pressure is increasing. The morning-afternoon asymmetry of the magnetic field strength appears in Tsyganenko geomagnetic field model (TS-04 model) when the partial ring current is included in TS- 04 model. Unlike our observations, however, TS-04 model shows that the peak location of the magnetic field strength is shifted toward local noon as the solar wind dynamic pressure grows in magnitude. This may be due to that the symmetric magnetic field associated with the magnetopause current, strongly affected by the solar wind dynamic pressure, increases. However, the partial ring current is not affected as much as the magnetopause current by the solar wind dynamic pressure in TS-04 model. Thus, our observations suggest that the contribution of the partial ring current at geosynchronous orbit is much larger than that expected from TS-04 model as the solar wind dynamic pressure increases.
