        The collision problem is one of the design factors that must be carefully considered for the risk of collision occurring during the operation of ships and offshore structures. This paper presents the main results of the ship collision study, and its main goal is to analyze potential crash scenarios that may occur in the FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas) considering the likelihood and outcome. Consideration being given to vessels visiting the FLNG and surrounding vessels navigating around, such as functionally supported vessels and offloading carriers. The scope includes vessels visiting the FLNG facility such as in-field support vessels and off-loading carriers, as well as third party passing vessels. In this study, based on QRA (quantitative risk assessment), basic research methods and information on collision are provided. Based on the assumptions and methodologies documented in this study, it has been possible to clarify the frequency of collision and the damage category according to the type of visiting ship. Based on these results, the risk assessment results related to the collision have been derived.

        This study compares optimization algorithms for efficient estimations of ship's hydrodynamic coefficients. Two constrained algorithms, the interior point and the sequential quadratic programming, are compared for the estimation. Mathematical optimization is designed to get optimal hydrodynamic coefficients for modelling a ship, and benchmark data are collected from sea trials of a training ship. A calibration for environmental influence and a sensitivity analysis for efficiency are carried out prior to implementing the optimization. The optimization is composed of three steps considering correlation between coefficients and manoeuvre characteristics. Manoeuvre characteristics of simulation results for both sets of optimized coefficients are close to each other, and they are also fit to the benchmark data. However, this similarity interferes with the comparison, and it is supposed that optimization conditions, such as designed variables and constraints, are not sufficient to compare them strictly. An enhanced optimization with additional sea trial measurement data should be carried out in future studies.

        Hard Shoulder Running is one of the ways to handle road traffic by installing LCS signals on the shoulder, making use of the shoulder as a straight road during rush hour, and thereby increasing the capacity of the road in the short term. Since it was first introduced on Youngdong Expressway in September 2007, it has been implemented in 32 highway sections and has improved the speed of traffic. The Seoul-Chuncheon Expressway, which is a private investment toll road, introduced Hard Shoulder Running only for some sections in 2014, but due to the geomorphic characteristics of the lanes with many tunnel sections, It did not perform the function of Hard Shoulder Running. Therefore, they are considering expanding the tunnel section of Hard Shoulder Running, and it is necessary to examine the safety of the tunnel part to implement this. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the change of geometry, such as reduction of lane width in tunnels, and the installation of various guiding facilities, on the safety of tunnels by applying a driving simulator. Virtual reality data were constructed at 3.25m and 3.0m respectively in the tunnel section of the Seongjong Tunnel of Seoul-Chuncheon Expressway and Geumnam Tunnel to determine the feasibility of Hard Shoulder Running and appropriate speed and lane width. EEG was used for analysis. The test subjects were 15 young drivers / 15 old drivers. Analysis items were classified into four categories: driving speed, steering wheel operation, lateral placement of vehicle, and driver's psychological factors. As a result of analysis of the experimental results, it was confirmed that the allowance width of outer wall and m of tunnels was secured, and the lane width of 3.0 m was stable in terms of driver driving behavior, and operation speed was lower than 50 km/h.

        연·근해어선들은 운항 또는 조업시 안정성(복원성능 및 횡동요 저감 성능)을 향상시키기 위해 여러 가지 부가물을 설치하며, 일반적으로 Fig. 1과 같이 세 가지로 분류할 수 있다. Bare hull을 포함하여 각 부가물이 단독으로 부착된 경우 3가지, 복수의 조합으로 부착된 경우 3가지 그리고 3가지 모두 부착된 1가지에 대하여 수치 계산을 수행하였다. Table 1은 Bare hull에 대한 주요치수를 나타낸 것이고, Table 2는 3가지 부가물에 대한 주요치수를 기술하였다. 3가지 선체 부가물에 대하여 CFD에 의한 유체동역학적 성능을 평가하였다. 각각의 부가물에 대하여 단독, 2개씩 조합된 복수 그리고 3개 모두 부착된 경우에 대하여 평가를 하였다. 1번 부가물의 경우 압력저항이 마찰저항 보다 차지하는 비율이 큼을 알 수 있었다. 2번과 3번 부가물의 경우 압력저항과 마찰저항이 거의 대동소이 함을 알 수 있었다. 복수조합과 3가지 모두 부착된 경우 부가물 상호간의 상관관계는 매우 작음을 알 수 있었다. 11노트에서 2번 부가물과 모든 부가물이 부착된 경우 유효마력 관점에서 약 9 % 차이를 보였다.

        이염화이소시아뉼산나트륨(NaDCC) 주입 선박평형수처리설비(BWMS, ballast water treatment system)에 의해 처리된 배출수 내에는 브롬 및 염소계열의 활성물질과 소독부산물질(DBPs, disinfection by-products)들이 포함되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 NaDCC로 처리된 선박평형수가 해양환경에 미치는 생태위해성을 파악하기 위하여 생태독성시험(WET test, whole effluent toxicity test)과 생태위해성평가(ERA, ecological risk assessment)를 수행하였다. 배출수독성 시험종은 규조류(Skeletonema costatum, Navicula pelliculosa), 녹조류(Dunaliella tertiolecta, Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata), 로티퍼(Brachionus plicatilis, Brachionus calyciflorus) 및 어류(Cyprinodon variegatus, Pimephales promelas)로 8개의 해양 및 담수종을 이용하였다. 생태독성시험결과, 규조류 및 녹조류를 이용한 성장저해시험에서만 명확한 독성영향이 나타났으며 해수의 시험 조건에서 무영향농도(NOEC, no observed effect concentration), 최저영향농도(LOEC, lowest observable effect concentration) 및 반수영향농도(EC50, effect concentration of 50%)는 각각 25.0 %, 50.0 % 및 > 100.0 %로 가장 민감한 영향을 나타냈다. 하지만 로티퍼 및 어류를 이용한 독성시험의 경우 모든 염분 구간에서 독성영향이 나타나지 않았다. 한편, 배출수에 대한 화학물질분석결과, bromate, isocyanuric acid, formaldehyde, chloropicrin과 trihalomethanes (THMs), halogenated acetonitriles (HANs), halogenated acetic acid (HAAs) 등 총 25개의 소독부산물질들이 검출되었다. ERA결과, 25 개의 소독부산물질들 중, 지속성(P), 생물축척성(B) 및 생물독성(T)의 특성을 모두 보이는 물질은 없었다. 예측환경농도(PEC, predicted environmental concentration) /예측무영향농도(PNEC, predicted no effect concentration) 비율은 일반적인 항구 환경에서는 모든 물질이 1.0을 초과 하지 않았지만 선박 최 인접지역의 경우 Isocyanuric acid, Tribromomethane, Chloropicrin 및 Monochloroacetic acid가 1.0을 초과하여 위해성이 있을 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 실제 배출수를 이용한 생태독성시험결과의 NOEC (25.0%)를 적용한 결과 NaDCC로 처리된 선박평형수가 해양에 배출되었을 때 선박 최 인접지역을 포함한 일반적인 항구 환경에 수용 불가한 생태위해성을 가지지 않는 것으로 판단된다.

        Severe earthquakes can cause damage to society both socially and economically. An appropriate initial response can alleviate damage from severe earthquakes. In order to formulate an appropriate initial response, it is necessary to identify damage situations in societies; however, it is difficult to grasp this information immediately after an earthquake event. In this study, an earthquake damage assessment methodology for buildings is proposed for estimating damage situations immediately after severe earthquakes. A response spectrum database is constructed to provide response spectra at arbitrary locations from earthquake measurements immediately after the event. The fragility curves are used to estimate the damage of the buildings. Earthquake damage assessment is performed from the response spectrum database at the building scale to provide enhanced damage condition information. Earthquake damage assessment for Gyeongju city and Pohang city were conducted using the proposed methodology, when an earthquake occurred on September 12, 2016, and November 15, 2017. Results confirm that the proposed earthquake damage assessment effectively represented the earthquake damage situation in the city to decide on an appropriate initial response by providing detailed information at the building scale.
