This study investigates application cases of facility management system model for enhancing facility productivity of industry filed around medium and small facility processing companies and finds the inefficiency of the existing management model. Following items are researched to seek out methods and measures to maximize facility productivity through empirical analysis by exploring and establishing a new management model. First, the empirical analysis, it is found that the overall equipment efficiency index used for facility productivity management in the companies has a difficulty being used as the index for it in actual medium-small processing companies. Second, a new facility management system model applying standard cycle time is suggested among facility management index system to measure facility productivity. Third, the empirical analysis is used to verify that developed facility management system model is a useful method to manage the facility productivity by applying the model to actual medium-small processing companies. Finally, it is necessary to implement comparison analysis on whether actual productivity enhancement induces a distinctly different result by using a new facility management index system model to be inhibited in this study.

Polyurethane is an elastomer polymer, which is flexible, tough and resistant. This material is widely used various fields such as automobile, aeroplane, textiles, construction industries. Currently there exists more than 1,000 manufacturing companies in Korea that are closely related to Polyurethane. In spite of a number of Polyurethane manufacturing companies, there are little attention in academia as well as industries to study the safety and manufacturing process improvement on Polyurethane. In this paper, we consider a case study for the Polyurethane manufacturer to improve productivity by using safety management and manufacturing process reengineering. After careful analysis, we derive three enhancements to increasing the safety and productivity for the target company. Especially, we achieve about 16% productivity improvement in roller manufacturing process by replacing manual stirring job with automated mixing machine.

Workers are avoiding production/manufacturing sites due to the poor working environment and concern over safety. Small and medium-sized businesses introduce new equipment to secure safety in the production site or ensure effective process management by introducing the real-time monitoring technique for existing equipment. The importance of real-time monitoring of equipment and process in the production site can also be found in the ANSI/ISA-195 model. Note, however, that most production sites still use paper-based work slip as a process management technique. Data reliability may deteriorate because information on the present condition of the production site cannot be collected/analyzed properly due to manual data writing by the worker. This paper introduces the monitoring and process management technique based on a direct facility interface to secure safety in the field by improving the poor working environment and enhance there liability and real-time characteristics of the production data. Since the data is collected from equipment in real-time directly through the SIB-based interface and PLC-based interface, problems associated with workers’ manual data input are expected to be solved; safety can also be improved by enhancing workers’ attention to work by minimizing workers’ injuries and disruption.

Recently the competition of market is getting more and more severe as the block of economic market has been broken due to the free trade of the world. In the mean time, the companies are experiencing more hardship than before because of the difficulties in employing workers, increases of salray and fixed cost of production and higher demand on the product quality from the consumer. Therefore various ways are needed for the resolutions of the production technology and the marketing. Production information system is one way which can bring a innovative advance of the company. In this study, we will examine the design methodology of the POP system for its efficient implementation as a production information system in the automobile parts manufacturing process. For this, we are to suggest the strategy of system implementation as we examine the process analysis, its redesign and coding for construction and testing and performing for its implementation.
