This study analyzes the body shapes of lower-body obese female adolescents and proposes a slacks pattern suitable for their body type. Lower-body obesity is a prevalent type of teenage obesity, and our proposals aim to improve consumer satisfaction in ready-to-wear clothes across this demographic. We first observe characteristics of obese lower bodies, noting significantly above-average thigh and hip circumference. These figures indicate a high degree of curvature in obese lower bodies, along with a large drop value. Leveraging this data, we develop a novel slacks pattern using 3D avatars in a virtual simulation system. The formulas for the main areas of the pattern are as follows: front waist girth W/4+0.75cm+0.5cm, back waist girth W/4+0.5cm– 0.5cm, front hip girth H/4+1.25cm–0.5cm, back hip girth H/4+2cm+0.5cm, front crotch extension H/16+0.5cm, back crotch extension H/8+1cm. Results from appearance evaluations show that this pattern minimizes strain rate on the waist and hips, and its average score is significantly higher than that of an alternative pattern that was also evaluated. The minimized strain rate and high average score indicate that our pattern assigns a sufficient amount of space to the appropriate areas. Based on these results, we expect our research to inform slacks pattern development and production for obese consumers of all types.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the suitability of brassiere size and wearing habits of Korean adolescent girls. Subjects were 13 to 17 years old girls (n=282). The data was collected by anthropometric survey and qualitative questionnaire survey. Anthropometric survey measured bust and under bust girths; Qualitative questionnaire survey focused on the practice of purchasing and wearing of brassiere. Two general conclusions emerged: 1) Majority of Korean adolescent girls wore a smaller sized cup than their breast volume 2) Korean adolescent girls wore a larger sized band. These results show the need of educating Korean adolescent girls for their appropriate brassiere size and fit. The value of the brassiere that Korean adolescent girls place differed by age. While the younger adolescent girls expected their brassiere to prevent showing the breast vibration, the older adolescent girls expected their brassiere to avoid breast sagging. The older aged adolescents more valued the fit and style of the brassiere compared to the younger aged group when they purchase brassiere. The younger adolescent girls were more likely to be dissatisfied with the fit of the cup. These results reveal that the junior brassiere should be designed to fit adolescent girls' breast shape and size.
This study was performed to investigate the eating habit, body image, and weight control behavior by BMI in Korean female high school students. Data on the 16, 574 subjects was obtained from the sixth Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey (2010). Only 52.2% of the subjects had regular breakfast. The rate of skipping breakfast was higher in the underweight group than in the obese group, but the rate of skipping dinner was on the contrary to this. Underweight students had a higher intake frequency of fruits, fast food, instant noodle, and snacks than the obese groups. 3.5% of underweight students considered themselves to be overweight or obese. 53.4% of obese students considered themselves to be overweight. The experience of weight control increased according to BMI, but underweight students considered weight control as an effort to be slimmer. Meal restriction was used more frequently to control weight. The perceived stress level was higher in obese student, especially due to appearance. Therefore, an appropriate, integrated and personalized high school nutrition program should be established for proper body image perception and to develop the self-esteem of female high school students.

This study is to understand the unique experiences of female juvenile delinquents, through analysis of the characteristics on delinquency and victimization of female juvenile delinquents, and to provide the improvements of the treatment of them. For this purpose, the reseacher analyzed the survey data on juvenile delinquency and victimization from 270 female and 290 male juvenile delinquents. The extent of girls' victimization such as neglect, physical, emotional, and sexual abuse in childhood is much greater than boys'. It is remakable for difference between female and male in physical and sexual abuse. And the times of girls' physical and sexual abuse were also early than boys'. Victimization rates of the female subgroup experienced the prostitution are most great in all juvenile subgroups. This result finding supports that girls' victimization are linked with subsequent delinquent behavior. Especially sexual abused girls were inclined to have more seriousness in a variety of criminal behaviors than the control girls. They were at increased risk for prostitution. But violent offenses seem to be no difference between subgroups. These findings suggest that part of abused girls be getting to escalate to criminal offending. And they had a tendency to have a low self-esteem and physical health problems, and to consider suicide. It is that abused girls develop antisocial or delinquent lifestyles that persist into adulthood as serious criminal careers. There is no single solution to female juvenile delinquency. But, first of all, it is necessary to provide gender-specific programs for abused girls such as specialized trauma treatment. Gender-specific programs must not only consider the risk factors leading girls to delinquency, but also focus on the protective and mitigating factors that foster strengths in adolescent girls. These protective factors include 'gender identity development', 'positive relationships with women adults', 'escalating self-esteem', 'educating about sexuality', etc.
The purpose of this study is to examine the treatment of female juvenile delinquents in Korea. Thereby, it attempts to provide several ways of improving female juvenile delinquents treatment. This study reviews existing research on female delinquency and the juvenile justice system's response to female delinquency. Despite growing concern, relatively little is known empirically about female delinquency. A review of the female delinquency literature shows the ambiguities and piecemeal nature of the research. But, we can identify several factors contributing to female delinquency from existing research. Most of the research conclude that female delinquent behavior is related to weak bond to parents, abuse, depression, low self-esteem, etc. Gender-specific programming refers to the program models and services that comprehensively address the special needs of a targeted gender group, such as adolescent girls. In Korea, probation treatment was not specifically designed for delinquent girls. Social service order was not specifically designed for delinquent girls, either. But, several considerations are provided for female offenders. For example, most female offenders work at welfare center. As to the residential community treatment, several desirable aspects are found. For example, residential community treatment fosters familiar, supportive atmosphere. And various culture activities help girls discover their capabilities and enhance self-esteem. As to juvenile training school treatment, personality education is needed . Anyang juvenile training school provides several programs for female juvenile delinquents. For example, various psychotherapy programs are enforced because of the high incidence of abuse, low self-esteem in female juvenile delinquents. And Anyang juvenile training school implements job training programs such as beauty, cosmetology in consideration of gender. Based on reviewing realities of female juvenile delinquents treatment, it suggest several ways for effective treatment.
