I propose an algorithm to detect defects in the production of wire mesh using computer image processing. The process is explained as follows, First reading consecutive frames coming through the camera, then the preprocessing process is performed. Second calculate the absolute difference between the two images to distinguish the moving wire mesh from the unnecessary background image. Third based on the past moving data of the welded wire mesh, predict and track future movement. As a result of observing the samples of some defective welded wire mesh products, it was confirmed that the horizontal line of the defective wire mesh had a higher height value of the tracked wire netting. Therefore it is possible to judge whether there is a defect or not at the same time without any additional process to judge. Finally, shear strength test were performed on the welds determined to be normal products by the algorithm proposed in this paper, so that I could verify the reliability and validity of the proposed algorithm.

This study is an experimental study to evaluate the vehicle-protection performance of the reinforced F section of a concrete median barrier. To reinforce the strength performance and durability of the F section, the design strength of concrete was increased and a wire mesh was added. The reinforced F section was tested in an actual collision to verify the protection performance of the SB4 class(Impact Severity: 160kJ) concrete barrier. In the truck-crash test for strengthperformance evaluation, no damage or no sufficient scattering occurred to cause damage to a third party. In addition, the truck smoothly moved through an escape box after the collision. THIV and PHD, which are criteria for evaluating the occupant-protection performance, were measured at 75% and 64% of the limit, respectively, and were confirmed to provide good occupant-protection performance. The vehicle rotations after the collision were 12%–19% of the allowed limits.

Recently the construction of residential building faces many difficulties due to the shortage of building materials and works. Simplifying the stage of processing and assembling reinforcing rods and increasing the efficiency of them in reinforced concrete construction can be used to settle the difficulties. In the respect, structural wire-fabric is utilized. The purpose of this study, instead of deformed steel bars, to examine the utilization of slab joint, which is accompanied with a large deformation in the structure subjected to seismic loads, to suggest reinforcing method which is efficient, easily constructible and structurally safe. The results are as follows ; 1. The ductility capacity of slab reinforced by welded wire fabric was less than with deformed bar in discontinuous slab joint. To enhance the ductility capacity, deformed bar should be used with welded wire fabric for the longitudinal reinforcement. 2. It is avoid to use loop welded wire fabric as the longitudinal reinforcement in wall, because the strength and ductility capacity showed lower value than that with deformed bar. 3. Using welded wire fabric in wall structures, it need deformed bar reinforcement with sufficient anchorage length.

It is recommended that simple cut jointing of welded wire fabric should be avoided in wall-wall joints.
