As the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Information Age, companies are in the state of infinite competition due to the rapidly changing technological environment and fierce competition. In this situation companies are making efforts to gain the competitive advantage by introducing information systems. Supply Chain Management (SCM) is considered a method to gain a competitive edge in rapid change. In fact, companies that already have introduced the SCM system are achieving company renovation with positive effects such as increase of sales stock reduction on-time delivery cost reduction and improved efficiency. This study was started to investigate the resistance that occurs in introducing the SCM system for small and medium-sized manufacturing industries that have not yet introduced the SCM system despite the importance of the SCM system, and to check the effect on the intention of the introduction. As the result of this study, the first is that the company has the higher technological innovation, the more positive the effect on Relative advantage Compatibility Perceived risk, Complexity. Second, The compatibility of the SCM system was rejected in innovation resistance, but it is adopted with the highest impact in the introduction intention. In addition, the mediating effect of innovation resistance was also rejected, confirming that if the SCM system is compatible for the company, it doesn’t affect the resistance and is the biggest factor to consider in the introduction of the SCM system. Third, the perceived risk of the SCM system doesn’t directly affect the intention to introduce, but has an indirect effect when mediation innovation resistance.
본 연구는 임파워링 리더십과 혁신행동의 관계에서 다차원 저항의 매개효과를 실증적으로 규명하는
것에 목적이 있다. 연구에 활용된 자료는 서울과 경기도 지역 사기업 종사자를 대상으로 하였으며 분석에는 396명으로부터 응답된 자료가 활용되었다. 연구의 결과는 첫째, 임파워링 리더십은 건설적 저항과 혁신행동에 긍정적인 영향력이 있으며, 역기능적 저항에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 다차원 저항(건설적 저항, 역기능적 저항)과 혁신행동의 관계에서 건설적 저항만이 혁신행동에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 규명되었다. 셋째, 다차원 저항의 매개효과에서는 건설적 저항만이 임파워링 리더십과 혁신행동의 관계를 부분 매개하는 것으로 구명되었다. 연구의 학문적 시사점으로는 첫째, 임파워링 리더십과 다차원 저항유형의 관계를 규명하여 리더십 연구영역에 부하 저항을 활용할 수 있는 근거를 제시하고 있다. 둘째, 임파워링 리더십과 혁신행동의 관계를 규명함으로써 연구결과를 다양한 선제적 행동으로 확대할 수 있는 논리를 제공하고 있다. 셋째, 기존의 단일차원 저항연구를 다차원 저항으로 확대하여 저항의 긍정적 효과제시하고 있으며, 아울러 건설적 저항의 매개 메커니즘을 규명함으로써 이 분야의 연구 확대에 의미있는 정보를 제공해 주고 있다. 실무적 측면에서도 임파워링 리더 육성과 건설적 저항을 흡수할 있는 제도적 장치의 필요성을 제안하고 있다.
This paper reviewed the relationship among CEO’s entrepreneurship/risktaking, innovation resistance and innovation performance, and the mediating effect of innovation resistance between CEO’s entrepreneurship/ risktaking and innovation performance. Based on the responses from 219 companies, the results of multiple regression analysis appeared as follow; 1) CEO’s entrepreneurship and risktaking effect negatively on innovation resistance. 2) innovation resistance negatively on innovation performance(process innovation, organization innovation). 3) innovation resistance mediates partly between CEO’s entrepreneurship/ risktaking and innovation performance.
While technological development being rapid, competition among companies have been very intensive over the world. To hold their competitive power or make sustainable development, it is very imperative for them to attempt innovation. But almost of all innovations were followed by people's resistance to change, and many innovation appeared to be not successful. The objective of this paper is to review the topic of resistance to change in the related literature, and look at the relationship between innovation resistance and many variables like CEO's personality, employee's personality, organizational culture, and defensive behavior.
