In this paper, we propose a system architecture of the AMI to be applied in the modern agricultural sector. Agricultural electricity costs in South Korea is very inexpensive compared with other industries. It is expected to increase oil prices to rise over the medium to long term so the facilities must to be installed for farmers in terms of energy savings and energy costs. The research and development of plant factory which can replace the ills of modern agriculture is very active. The technologies of smart grid and plat factory are good paradigm of next generation agricultural sector. Good use of smart grid technologies, the traditional energy consumption industries, agriculture sector can be self-sufficiency industry. In this article the AMI architecture is developed and it will be applicable for modern farmers plant factory.
Commercially managed bees are available for pollination services and are used in large commercial fields, small gardens, or enclosures such as greenhouses and screen houses. We investigated the use rate and number of commercial bees such as bumblebees, honeybees and mason bees for the pollination of 10 major horticultural crops and fruit trees in Korea. The use rates of bumblebees for 10 major horticultural crops and fruit trees were approximately 7.9% and 2.8% in 2009, respectively. The use numbers of bumblebees as pollinators was more than 64,345 colonies which included 51,400 for 10 major horticultural crops and 12,945 colonies for 10 major fruit trees, in 2009. The use rate of honeybees as a pollinator for 10 major horticultural crops in greenhouses and fruit trees were approximately 48.0% and 7.7%, respectively. The number of hives used for 10 horticultural crops and fruit trees was estimated to be 305,216 and 32,386, respectively. The number of honeybees hives used for pollination of 10 major horticultural crops and fruit trees was estimated to be 337,602. The use numbers of honeybees as pollinators was more than 337,602 hives in 10 major horticultural crops and fruit trees, in 2009. The number of honeybee hives used as pollinators of outside crops, including many fruits and vegetables, was estimated to be more than 500,000. The value of honeybees as pollinators was estimated to be more than 8.5% to 15.0% of total Korean beekeeping products. The rate of use of mason bees for 10 major fruit trees was approximately 3.3%. The number of mason bees individuals used for 10 major fruit trees was estimated to be 1,350,000. The value of commercial insect pollinators in 2009 in Korea was estimated at more than $45 million.

This study was in line with consecutive growth of urban agriculture implemented to provide a functional vegetable garden model for urban vegetable gardeners. It targeted the users who actually raise functional vegetable gardens, analyzed the flaws for correction in many ways including a type of products, quantity, ratio, and the like and existing problems. It is found out from Utilization that first is the highest ranking with no experience of growing vegetable garden education while growth education helping vegetable garden activity takes the half. Saying yes to the participation in the growth education following the process ranked the highest. In addition when planting, in regards to earning information about plantation timing and measure, they responded that they directly determine those by themselves. Second, the type of plant that they are mainly supposed to produce in family gardening was vegetables. Many say that it is easy to produce, easy to get information. In the fall, Kimchi and vegetables ranked the highest, the reason for functional vegetable gardeners to participate in planting family garden is an interest in a variety of producing crops. Third, the current amount included is proper for flower・herb plants in functional vegetable garden model while the ratio of crops vegetables60.5 : medical21.2 : flower・herbs18.3 in vegetable garden model is responded moderate.
This study was carried out to identify the problems and policy alternatives for the improvement of living conditions and environmentally friendly agriculture. The results of surveys on the current situations of living conditions in the rural areas revealed that the main cause of depopulation in Korean rural villages was the lack of social infrastructure and income sources. The current government policies for agriculture geared mainly for improvement of international comparative competitiveness will result in the further disadvantage against the mountainous regions with marginal agricultural lands. Therefore, it is recommended that the agricultural policy should be complemented by the environmental and social policies in the less favoured areas. This can be justified by the fact that the demand for environmental public goods such as recreational opportunities in rural settings uncontaminated by the industrial wastes is growing.
