The red imported fire ant, Solenopsis invicta, first arrived in Texas in 1956 and quickly spread, where it now occupies more than half the state. The ecological and economic impact of this invasive ant has been well-documented in the state. Ecologically, it reduces native arthropod fauna and has a big effect on ground nesting birds. Economically, it’s estimated that this pest ant costs the state $1.2B dollars annually, affecting both urban and agricultural areas. After failed federal efforts to eradicate the fire ant, the state of Texas invested in its own research and management program, as did several other states. However, the Texas program, the Imported Fire Ant Research and Management Program, was the largest state program with $1.25 M invested annually since 1997. Several important developments arose out of this program including research on the biology and management of fire ants as well as treatment recommendations. Results of these research and management efforts will be discussed.

In recent years after the Sewol Sank, the surroundings of Fire have rapidly changed and citizens need for Fire have been demanding very high. Under these situations, in order for satisfaction to all these demands, Seoul Metropolitan Fire & Disaster Headquarters(SMFDH) have made improvements of Golden Time in the field of disaster as the leader of Fire Department in Korea. SMFDH has been practicing many kinds of plans, or projects to achieve Gold Time of 55 types of disaster. However, There have been questioning about all these projects if they are working for the achievement. The purpose of this study is to scrutinize current projects for Golden Time Targeting focused on Mapo fire fighters as first responders and to cope with how to make them better for Seoul Citizens’ safety by using SPSS(Statistical Package for the Social Science) Statistics 24. The result of this study presents that how we can find to be all the project for Golden Time Targeting running well. And This study will be positively applied to Seoul fire policies or helped for setting them up better.

Modern systems development becomes more and more complicated due to the need on the ever-increasing capability of the systems. In addition to the complexity issue, safety concern is also increasing since the malfunctions of the systems under development may result in the accidents in both the test and evaluation phase and the operation phase. Light rail transit(LRT) with passenger capacity between bus and subway is driven by an unmanned control, so safety issues of LRT in emergency shall be considered more carefully than other rolling stock. Modern railway system is a complex system and many actions in emergency are required. In this view, interoperability approach is effective to identify the related elements in emergency. In this paper, we propose the method to generate the fire response scenario of unmann ed LRT based on the outputs of systems engineering architecture design methodology. The proposed method is could be contributed to establish more reliable and applicable fire response scenario.

In January, 2005, the "Railroad Safety Act" was presented, preparing the systematic equipment that allows several railroad operators to consider the railroad safety issue, and each of the railroad operative institutions accepted such situation that the construction of the emergent system of coping, resulting in the construction of the emergent system of coping with the railroad fire accident through the relevant study to improve the railroad security efficiency against fire. This study tried to present the on developing the emergent educational program for coping with the KTX fire accident, which is distributed to the spot, to the railroad emergency staff for improving the railroad security efficiency against fire through the education of systematic and efficient emergent countermeasure procedures against fire accidents the fire accident in KTX.

최근 들어 국가적으로 복지에 대한 관심이 늘어나고 있으며 정책의 주요 이슈로 떠오르고 있다. 복지의 대상이 되는 계층으로는 아동, 다문화, 노인, 장애인 등과 같은 사회적 약자가 주 대상으로 이들은 재난상황에서 또한 일반인들에 비해 취약하다. 특히 인적 재해 중 하나인 화재의 경우 우리 주변에서 수시로 일어날 수 있어 그 어떤 재해 보다 위험 하다 할 수 있으며, 이러한 화재의 발생시 장애인의 경우 일반인에 비해 대응이 힘들다. 이에 본 연구에서는 선진국인 영국, 미국의 화재에 따른 장애인 시설 대응 매뉴얼 사례와 국내 장애인 시설 대응 매뉴얼 분석을 통하여 그 특징과 고찰점 등을 도출하는데 목적이 있다.
