        On December 31, 2015, the ASEAN Economic Community had officially been launched. The direct impact of this policy will be on the field of Competition Law which differs from one country to another. The Competition Law plays an important role in ensuring fair and equitable business practices within the ASEAN. The ASEAN has its Regional Guidelines on Competition Policy to assist its member countries to increase their awareness about fair and equitable business practices. This policy only serves as a guideline and has not been adopted as an enforceable rule. Therefore, the business competition in the domestic market involving the ASEAN member’s company is still being regulated by each ASEAN member country. This paper examines and analyzes the role of the competition law in addressing the intra- ASEAN members’ unfair business practices and the needs for the harmonization of the competition law within the ASEAN Countries as a transition to promulgate the ASEAN Competition Law.

        The Korea-China Free Trade Agreement finally arrived at its preliminary settlement, in the 14th round of negotiations, held on November 10, 2014. This FTA is expected to function as an essential stepping-stone for future trilateral trade agreement between China, Japan and Korea. Further, it is anticipated to considerably contribute to shaping an integrated economic community for East Asia. Therefore, it assigns a diplomatic task of reconciling the speed of growth and harmonizing different systems of the three countries; it is beyond the matter of simple market invasion. This short paper aims to track the process to the settlement of the Agreement and analyze its sectorial substances, from the viewpoint of strategic and diplomatic dynamics in East Asia. The author thereby attempts to suggest a direction of future discussion towards joint subjects of cooperation.

        This article proposes the principle of human dignity as an indispensable requirement for sustainable regional economic integration, especially in East Asia. The contribution of free trade to economic growth and development is widely acknowledged. The economic survival of workers and farmers lacking international competitiveness has been, however, endangered, because of the expansion of trade liberalization and investment based on economic integration. Economic integration that ensures human dignity will promote successful and sustainable regional economic integration, by balancing economic prosperity and social integration. In this context, this article reviews the value and concept of human dignity as a goal and principle for regional economic integration. The author contends that neither sustainable prosperity nor a high level of economic development is itself a goal of economic integration, but merely a means by which to improve human dignity. Economic integration should, therefore, serve not only to maintain sustainable prosperity, but also to maximize human dignity.

        The article first introduces key education policies in China, revolving around the National Medium- and Long-Term Education Reform and Development Guideline (2010-2020), a blueprint for education reform up to 2020. Then it elaborates on the educational issues and challenges confronted by China. The article examines the lessons and gaps in educational cooperation in the APEC in light of international cooperation which is regarded as an important approach to seeking inspiration for policymaking in the process of education reform. Finally it concludes with a number of recommendations for international cooperation in the context of enhancing "regional economic integration ".

        본 논문에서는 현재 대만이 추진하고 있는 핵심 교육정책에 대해 다루고 있으며, 그 정책은 (1) 12년 의무교육, (2) 기술·직업 교육 개혁 방안, (3) 통합 유치원, 유아원 정책, (4) 대학 설립 및 폐교 기준 (5) 대학들의 국제적 명성 획득 전략 등으로 대표 된다. 이러한 교육 정책 실행 후 기대되는 효과로는 (1) 사회적 혜택을 받지 못하는 학생들을 위한 보조금 지급, (2) 출생률 저하에 따른 재능 교육 책정, (3) 고등교육의 국제화, (4) 교육-직업 간의 부조화 격차 감소가 있다. 또한 대만 정부는 APEC회원들과의 민간 및 공공 부문의 협조를 통하여 교육정책 효과 를 극대화하고자 하는 목표를 가지고 있다. 그리고 ‘지역 경제 통합’과 ‘녹색 성장’이라는 주제로 APEC에 국가 간 교육적 협력을 강화하기 위하여 다양한 제안을 성명하고 있다.

        ADB는 경제를 활성화하고 빈곤을 감소시키기 위해 3개의 전략을 시행하였다.3개의 전 략은 포괄적인 경제성장 환경적으로 지속 가능한 성장, 지역적 통합이라 채택되었다. ADB 는 교육은 성장이라는 큰 그림에서 제외 될 수 없는 중요한 요인이라는 점을 강조하였다. 또한 ADB는 교육 이외에 (1) 사회기반시설, (2) 환경, (3) 지역적 협력과 통합 (4) 재정적 측면의 핵심영역을 가지고 있다. ADB는 교육이란 지속 가능한 개발과 지역적 통합을 지원하기 위한 의식을 고조 시키고 능력을 개발하는 점에서 매우 중요하며. 각기 다른 분야에서의 협력이 필요하다고 주장한 다. 그리고 협력은 아시아의 급속한 성장에 기인하여 연구 기업을 더 넓은 지역으로 확대 함으로써 국경을 넘어 선 협력과 지역적 통합을 이룰 수 있을 것이라 예측한다. 그리고 ADB는 지역적 통합 수립을 위하여 GMS. C돼EC. SASEC 와 같은 프로그램을 시행하고 있다.

        Systems are often operated by not integration but blocking, i.e., non-standardization. The system blocking is mainly caused by non-standardization or incompatibility. The integrated system is effective, but researches for quantification of effectiveness from integrating system are few. System blocking causes additional cost which is almost intangible and potential. In this paper we proposed a model to quantify the effectiveness of system integration. To verify the validity of proposed model, we applied the model for Korean information and communication industry and forecasted the cost of integration for South and North Korean telecommunication industry in the way of three scenarios.

        RCEP (《역내포괄적경제동반협정》)는 지역 경제 협력 체제를 강화하고 회원국의 법률 규칙의 융합을 추진하며 아세안 개발도상국을 중심으로 하는 무역 규칙 체계를 구축하고 아시아 태평양 지역의 정치 경제 이익 균형을 재구성하며 지역의 새로운 경제 구조의 형성을 가속화하는 데 중요한 추진 역할을 발휘할 것다. 역세계화와 무역보호주의가 고개를 들면서 대국들 게임이 경제 무역 협력에 대한 충격이 끊임없이 상승하고 각국이 무역 규칙과 표준 주도권에 대한 쟁탈이 심해지면서 아시아태평양 경제 일체화는 여러 가지 요소의 방해에 직면하게 되었다. 회원국은 협정의 발효와 실시를 가속화하고 점차적으로 더 많은 발전에 회원국의 참여를 흡수하며 무역 규칙의 업그레이드를 추진하여 아시아태평양 경제 일체화 발전을 추진해야 한다.

        This research paper examines the causal relationship between India’s economic growth and sectoral contribution to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and vice versa, in the short-run and long-run, over a 10 years time period. Johansen’s method of cointegration is used to study the cointegration between the sectoral contributions to Indian GDP vis-à-vis India’s economic growth. Further, the route of interconnection between economic growth and sectoral contribution is tested by using Vector Auto Regression (VAR) model. Special attention was given for investigating impulse responses of economic growth depending on the innovations in sectoral contribution using time-series data from 1960 to 2015. This paper highlighted a dynamic co-relationship among industrial sector contribution and agricultural sector contribution and economic development. In the long run, one percent change in industrial sector contribution causes an increase of 3.42 percent in the economic growth and an increase of 1.12 percent in the primary sector contribution, while in the short run industrial and service sector contributions showed significant impact on economic development and agriculture sector. The changing composition of sector contribution is going to be an important activity for the policymakers to monitor and control where the technology and integration of sectors play a significant role in economic development.

        This paper investigates the influence of the economic integration exemplified by the Eurasian Economic Union on the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Kazakhstan corporate sector. Using data collected from 204 small-, medium-, and large-sized Kazakh companies, the researchers analyzed the collected data with percentile. Findings of this study show that small- and medium-sized enterprises, especially in the tertiary sector of the Kazakh economy, are not that much affected by regional integration, whereas large firms have been significantly impacted. The originality of the paper is threefold. First, the research explores the entrepreneurial ecosystems in its focus on geographic location or digital technologies that came across mainly from the ICT space. This is becoming pervasive across mechanical systems, communications, infrastructure, and the built-up environment. Second, the originality of the paper lies in focusing on the entrepreneurial ecosystems’ influence on the business processes by clearly understanding the regional, national, and international trends in different markets. Third, the paper is first of its kind to contribute an updated perspective on the entrepreneurial ecosystem’s influence on economic integration to the policymakers of Kazakhstan. Policymakers will gain expertise on how to manage network effects while planning investment projects, as well as transactions, modes, and fixed nodes, acquisition, and greenfield investments.

        This paper examines the impact of financial integration on economic growth in Southeast Asia over the period 1993-2013. This paper further investigates whether the relationship depends on the level of financial and economic development, government corruption, and macroeconomic policy. These questions raise important issues both from a theoretical and a policy perspective. We employ the generalized methods of moment (GMM) in the dynamic panel estimation framework to analyse several factors, including initial income, initial schooling, financial development, inflation, trade openness, corruption, and financial crisis. The study further analyzes the data using the EGLS model to examine the consistency of the GMM model. We found that financial integration has a significant positive effect on economic growth in Southeast Asia. Our findings suggest that increasing financial integration could improve the productive capacity of the economy, including more investments and efficient allocation of capital, and thus enhancing economic growth in this region. More specifically, the results suggest that the government should work towards eliminating corruption and stabilizing macroeconomics in order to enhance financial integration and economic growth. This paper sheds new insights on a better evaluation of the past and present theorizing on the subject of financial integration and economic growth; especially, in Southeast Asia.

        This study aims to assess the attraction of foreign direct investment in Vietnamese economic zones (including industrial zones and economic zones). The main research method used are synthesis and comparison analysis based on the data collected from the surveyed group comprising of enterprises operating in the economic zones in the Middle (Chu Lai, Nhon Hoi, Dung Quat) and the Southern (the largest island: Phu Quoc) . After conducting surveys, research results show that there is a difference between the assessment and the level to meet the requirements of investors with business environment, expressed through the following criteria: (1) the infrastructure; (2) quality of public services; (3) preferential policies; (4) labor; (5) market; and (6) social services. Based on the assessment of the identified criteria, this paper had suggested six number of recommendations to promote the role of attracting foreign direct investment capital into the economic zones in Vietnam: (1) implementing the "one-stop-shop" policy; (2) continuing to improve the infrastructure of economic zones; (3) prevent and ensure the security of economic zones; (4) implementing vocational training activities to improve quality of human resources; (5) development of supporting industries; (6) raising the quality of capital invested in the economic zone
