곤충병원성 선충인 Heterorhabditis. megidis(큰형광병원선충)는 참나무 군락지(광주광역시 소재) 사양토에 서 분리 동정되었고, 곤충병원성을 가지는 공생세균은 Photorhabdus temperata로 분리 동정되어 각각 GJ1-2로 명명하였다. H. megidis GJ1-2는 고구마(주황미) 큰 검정풍뎅이 Holotrichia parallela에 대한 방제 효과는 평택시 (경기도 소재)와 논산시(충청북도 소재)의 노지 재배 사양토에서 관주처리 30일 후 각가 81.1%, 78.9%로 나타났 으며, 인삼(재래종) 거세미나방 Agrotis segetum에 대한 방제 효과는 이천시(경기도 소재)와 청주시(충청북도 소재)의 비가림 재배(차광막 설치) 사양토에서 관주처리 14일 후 방제가는 각각 79.9%, 80,2%로 나타났다. H. megidis GJ1-2는 고구마(주황미)와 인삼(재래종)에서 약제 처리 후 3, 7, 14일 후 외관상 약해는 나타나지 않았다.
식물기생선충은 식물에 기생하여 식물의 생장을 저하시키거나 심할 경우 식물의 고사를 일으키는 주요 병원 체의 하나이다. 이들 선충은 수입 식물을 통해 국내로 유입될 수 있으며, 이로 인해 식물의 생장이 저하되거나 식물이 죽는 등의 실제적 피해를 야기할 수 있다. 생강은 한국의 대표 음식인 김치를 비롯한 다양한 요리와 음료, 전통약재 등에 사용되는 중요한 식약재료이며, 그 가치와 수요가 매우 높다. 최근 10년(2014-2023년) 동안 종구로 써 사용되는 재식용 생강의 수입량은 총 31,740톤이었는데, 수입 생강 원산지의 대부분은 중국으로써 최근 10년 간 수입량의 99.99%를 차지했다. 동기간 검역처분 내역은 합격 수량이 1,090건(27,637톤), 폐기 수량은 222건 (4,102톤)이었다. 폐기 처분을 받는 주용 원인을 분석해보면, 관리급 선충 검출이 139건, 종구에 흙이 부착된 경우 가 26건 등이었다. 앞으로도 농림축산검역본부는 수입 재식용 생강에 대한 실험실정밀검역을 통해 우리나라의 농업과 자연환경에 위해를 가할 수 있는 식물기생선충의 차단을 위해 최선의 노력을 다하고자 한다.
Clover cyst nematode (Heterodera trifolii, CCN) is one of the important plantparasitic nematodes in the Republic of Korea, causing serious damage to Kimchi-cabbage in Gangwon province since 2017. Soil fumigants are the preferred choice for managing CCN. However, cabbage fields in Gangwon province have a slope, making it challenging to apply soil fumigants and use plastic mulch. Consequently, alternative materials should be developed for managing CCN. Nematicidal cover crops and resistant cultivars are among the alternatives. We conducted resistance screening of 82 white mustard (Sinapis alba) resources from a genebank at RDA against CCN for use as nematicidal cover crops or breeding materials. In the first assay (1st, 2nd, and 3rd pot experiments), 15 white mustard resources were selected, while others were susceptible to CCN. To confirm the reproducibility of resistance to CCN for 13 selected resources, the second assay was performed. As a result, five white mustard resource (IT297309, IT297312, IT302951, IT302953, IT302954) demonstrated resistance to CCN. These findings indicate the potential use of these five white mustard resources as nematicidal cover crops or for breeding cultivars of Kimchi-cabbage in Republic of Korea.
The root-lesion nematode Pratylenchus spp. is the most important plantparasitic nematode due to its worldwide distribution, wide host ranges, and migratory endoparasitic characteristics. One population of Pratylenchus collected from the giant pussy willow (Salix chaenomeloides Kimura) in the Andong area as part of a nematode survey in Korea was characterized morphologically and by molecular methods. The analysis of morphological measurements and morphometric characteristics, as well as DNA sequencing of the rRNA large subunit (LSU) D2/D3 expansion segments and the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) gene sequence, confirmed the identity of this population as P. hippeastri. This study is the first report of P. hippeastri associated with Salix chaenomeloides in Korea and worldwide. Further studies on distribution and pathogenicity in different P. hippeastri host crops, such as grapevines, strawberries, and apples, are necessary. The taxonomic keys to 16 Pratylenchus species in Korea are provided.
Southern root-knot nematode (SRKN, Meloidogyne incognita) is known to be responsible for annual economic losses of 38.2 million USD in cucumber cultivation in Korea. Nematicides are frequently used to manage SRKN in plastic greenhouses. A field experiment was conducted to assess the effect of a soil fumigant (dimethyl disulfide, DMDS) and a non-fumigant (fluopyram, FL) against SRKN during the winter fallow season in a greenhouse from October to December. Nematicidal efficacy was assessed at 43 days after treatment, and the root gall index was measured 4 months after transplanting cucumber seedlings. DMDS effectively reduced second-stage SRKN juvenile density with 91% control efficacy, while FL showed no control efficacy against SRKN. Root gall index values were significantly different (p=0.020) in DMDS treatment and controls at 1.0±0.00 and 4.3±0.58, respectively. This study showed that DMDS could be considered an effective nematicide for controlling SRKN in the fallow period in winter.

H. megidis GJ1-2는 고추(녹광), 애호박(농우), 오이(백다다기), 참외(금싸라기), 토마토(베타티니) 유묘기 경엽처리와 배추(씨알천하일품), 상추(진청맛), 완두(청진주), 수박(삼복꿀), 무(서호) 유묘기 관주처리 에서 21일차까지 기준량과 배량에 대하여 약해(약해 판정기준결과: 0)가 나타나지 않았다, H. megidis GJ1-2는 배추 파밤나방에 대한 방제 효과는 이천시(경기도 소재)와 수원시(경기도 소재)의 시설재배 포장에서 각각 경엽 처리 3일차 71.8%. 73.9%, 7일차 86.2%, 84.6%로 나타났으며, 옥수수 열대거세미나방에 대한 방제 효과는 제주시 (제주특별자치도 소재)의 노지(미사질 양토)에서 경엽처리 7일차 82.6%로 나타났다. 그리고 H. megidis GJ1-2는 랫드를 이용한 급성경구와 급성경피 독성시험 반수치사농도(LD50) 값은 2,000 mg/kg B.W 초과로 IV급(저독성) 으로 구분되었고, 토끼를 이용한 피부와 안점막에 자극성이 없는 것으로 구분되었다. 그리고 담수어류(송사리) 에 대한 급성독성시험 반수치사농도(LD50) 값은 영향을 미치지 않는 기초시험농도 100 mg/L를 초과하였다.
A survey of plant-parasitic nematodes (PPNs) was carried out in medicinal crop cultivated fields from July to August in 2023. Three-leaf ladybell, Adenophora triphylla var. japonica is a highly valued medicinal plant that is used to treat or prevent bronchitis, cough, cancer, and obesity in Korea. A. triphylla plants with small root-galls were observed in a field of Yeongju Agricultural Technology Center, which were identified as a root-knot nematode. Additional morphological and molecular analyses studies were performed and identified as Meloidogyne hapla, Northern root-knot nematode. Population densities of M. hapla ranged from 20~30 nematodes per 100 cm3 of soil. M. hapla was detected at lower densities in soil compared to other infected host crops, but there are concerns about damage to M. hapla since A. triphylla is cultivated for more than two years once planted. Our results indicate that A. triphylla roots damage by M. hapla were identifed, it is necessary to prepare control methods such as registration of applicable nematicides and crop rotation.
Root-knot nematode (RKN), Meloidogyne incognita, inflicts significant greenhouse crop damage, causing over 40% economic losses. While chemical agents effectively control RKN, they leave harmful residue in soil and crops. To address this issue, we investigated soil-derived entomopathogenic fungi (EPF) in this study. We assessed the nematicidal impact of ten EPF species through in vivo and in vitro tests. Beauveria bassiana JEF-503 exhibited nematicidal effectiveness exceeding 65% in both experimental settings. In a semi-field test using greenhouse pots, we experimented with the application of B. bassiana JEF-503 suspension during tomato growth, which is an uncommon practice in comparison to chemical treatments due to residue concerns. B. bassiana JEF-503 was applied during transplantation, and the same application was repeated four weeks later. JEF-503 One-time and abamectin treatments were used as control groups. The JEF-503 two-time application notably reduced root damage compared to single JEF-503 or abamectin treatment. In conclusion, JEF-503 offers a promising, residue-free, and environmentally friendly alternative to chemical agents for RKN management.
본 연구에서는 소나무재선충의 매개충인 솔수염하늘소와 북방수염하늘소에 대하여 무인항공기 (무인헬리콥터)를 이용하여 스피네토람의 약효 및 약해를 조사하였다. 하늘소를 대상으로 등록된 펜토에이트 유제, 비펜트린 액상수화제, 하늘소를 제외한 딱정벌레가 대상인 에토펜프록 스 유제, 디플루벤주론 수화제와 나방류에 방제 약제로 등록된 인독사카브 수화제, 스피네토람 액상수화제 6종을 ULV기로 살포하여 솔수염하 늘소에 대한 섭식독과 접촉독을 확인한 후 선발하였다. ULV 시험 결과, 펜토에이트, 비펜트린, 인독사카브, 스피네토람의 33배, 55배 희석배수 액은 처리후 3일차에 접촉독과 섭식독에서 100% 살충율을 보였으나, 에토펜프록스는 7일차 접촉독 살충율 88.9%(33배), 88.9%(50배), 섭식독 살충율 93.4%(33배, 50배), 디플루벤주론은 7일차 접촉독 살충율 83.3%(33배), 섭식독 80.3%, 53.9%(50배)로 조금 낮은 살충률을 보였다. ULV 시험에서 선발된 가장 적합한 스피네토람의 33배액을 무인항공기로 살포하여 솔수염하늘소와 북방수염하늘소에 대한 감수성을 평가한 결 과, 98.6% - 100%의 살충율을 보였다. 그러나, 해당 약제의 매개충 방제에 적용하기 전에 항공 살포에 의한 꿀벌에 대한 위해성 평가가 필요할 것 으로 판단되었다.
Three free-living marine nematodes (Desmoscolex (Desmoscolex) max Timm, 1970, Daptonema longiapophysis Huang and Zhang, 2010, and Pseudosteineria sinica Huang and Li, 2010) were newly recorded in Korea. Desmoscolex (D.) max was found from subtidal coarse sediment around Wangdolcho in the East Sea. It was characterized by the presence of untypical setae arrangement, obviously elongated triangle-shaped head, long hairy cephalic setae, a long naked tail spinneret, and the absence of peduncle at the base of somatic setae. Daptonema longiapophysis was obtained from intertidal sandy sediments in the southern coast of Korea. It was characterized by the presence of setiform labial sensilla, spicules with a projection on both sides, and gubernaculum with dorso-caudal apophysis. Pseudosteineria sinica was discovered from the intertidal sediment in the Yellow Sea. It was characterized by unobservable amphideal fovea, different lengths of spicules, and gubernaculum with dorso-caudal apophysis. In this study, we provide detailed morphological features of three free-living marine nematodes by differential interference contrast microscopy.
During a survey of free-living marine nematodes of Korea, two new marine desmoscolecid nematodes belonging to subgenus Quadricoma Filipjev, 1922 were discovered. Tricoma (Q.) jejuensis sp. nov. and T. (Q.) unipapillata sp. nov. are described based on specimens obtained from washings of coarse sediments from eastern and southern coasts of Korea. Tricoma (Q.) jejuensis sp. nov. is characterized by having 33 quadricomoid body rings and inversion at main ring 23, pentagonal head with truncated anterior end, a pair of ocelli situated at main ring 6, somatic setae comprising of 8 pairs of subdorsal setae and 12 pairs of subventral setae, and relatively short spicules (42-46 μm long). Tricoma (Q.) unipapillata sp. nov. is characterized by 44 quadricomoid body rings and inversion at main ring 32, somatic setae comprising of 7 pairs of subdorsal setae and 10 pairs of subventral setae, globular head truncated anterior end, relatively short and stumpy cephalic setae with cuticular flange, one single naked ventral median genital papillae situated on main ring 20, and spicules with a proximally marked capitulum. Detailed morphological descriptions and illustrations of these two new species are provided in this study.
