        본 연구에서는 초임계추출 및 생물전환공정을 통하여 우방자로부터 악티게닌을 얻었다. 악티 게닌은 항염증, 항인플루엔자 등의 효능이 있기 때문에 다양한 분야에서 연구되고 있다. 제조된 악티게 닌은 FT-IR, 1H-NMR 분석결과 4-[(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl) methyl)]dihydro-3-[(4-hydroxy-3- methoxyphenyl)methyl]-2(3H)-furanone(arctigenin)임을 확인하였고, HPLC 분석결과 95.1 % 순도임 을 확인하였다. 활성물질에 대한 티로시나아제 저해 효과를 확인한 결과, 농도 의존적으로 260 ㎍/㎖의 농도에서 85.06±0.9 % 를 저해하였으며, 멜라닌 생성 억제 효과를 확인한 결과 3.0 ㎍/㎖ 의 농도에서 51.1±3.7 % 를 억제하는 것을 확인하였고 악티게닌이 알부틴 보다 효과가 있음을 확인하였다. 결론적 으로 제조된 악티게닌은 미백화장품에 활용 가능성이 기대된다.

        심해유전개발 중 원유의 흐름보증과 관련하여 하이드레이츠, 아스팔텐, 무기물 침전 등이 주 된 관심분야가 될 수 있으며, 특히 왁스에 대해서도 그 특성을 이해하는 것이 중요하다. 원유흐름 중단 으로 인한 왁스가 젤을 형성하였을 경우에는, 원유의 흐름을 재시작하기 위해서는 높은 압력의 펌프를 가동해야 하는 어려움이 있다. 본 연구에서는 베인 레오미터를 사용하여 왁스 젤의 항복응력 측정을 통 한 왁스 젤의 강도를 측정하고 예측하였다. 또한, 왁스 젤의 강도측정을 통해서 정성적, 정량적인 예측 을 시도하였다.

        This study was done to investigate the antidiabetic and antioxidant effects of Cibotium barometz in Streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats. Diabetes was induced by intravenous injection of STZ at a dose 45㎎/㎏.b.w. dissolved in citrate buffer(pH4.5). The ethanol extract of Cibotium barometz was orally administrated once a day for 7 days. The contents of serum glucose, triglyceride(TG) and total cholesterol were significantly decreased(p<0.05) in Cibotium barometz treated group compared to the those of STZ-control group, The content of glutathione(GSH) and activity of gluthathione-s-transferase(GST) were significantly increased (P<0.05) in Cibotium barometz treated group compared to the those of STZ-control group. andactivityes of catalase(CAT) and glutathione peroxidae(GSH-Px) were signiicantly decreased (P<0.05) in Cibotium barometz treated group compared to the those of STZ-control group. Also the content of hepatic glycogen and activities of glucose-phosphate dehydrogenase(G-6-PDH)and glucokinase(GK) were significamtly increased(p<0.05), but activity of glucose-6-phosphatase (G-6-Pase) was significamtly decreased (p<0.05) in Cibotium barometz treated group compared to the those of STZ-control group. These results indicated that ethanol extract of Cibotium barometz would have antidiabetic and antioxidant effects in STZ-induced diabetic rats.

        In this study, several kinds of active carbons with high specific surface area and micro pore structure were prepared from the coconut shell charcoal using chemical activation method. The physical property of prepared active carbon was investigated by experimental variables such as activating chemical agents to char coal ratio, flow rate of inert gas and temperature. It was shown that chemical activation with KOH and NaOH was successfully able to make active carbons with high surface area of 1900~2500 m2/g and mean pore size of 1.85~2.32 nm. The coin cell using water-based binder in the electrolyte of LiPF6 dissolved in mixed organic solvents (EC:DMC:EMC=1:1:1 vol%) showed better capacity than that of oil-based binder. Also, it was found that the coin cell of water-based binder shows an improved cycling performance and coulombic efficiency.

        This study is related to the developing method of a transparent sunscreen cosmetic which has waterproofing property and no white turbidity when applied to skin. The transparent sunscreen is prepared by exploiting refractive index difference between oil-phase and water-phase of water-in-oil(W/O) emulsion. The sunscreen according to this study is prepared as a W/O type emulsion so that it is water-stable and water resistance. Also, the stability of W/O type emulsion is developed by adjusting the content of oil phase part and water phase part. As a result of this studying, the transparent W/O emulsion is prepared by adjusting the refractive index of oil-phase and water-phase within 0.004 and it is found that the stability of the transparent sunscreen is increasing when the water phase part is over 75% (w/w) of the W/O emulsion.Through clinical test of transparent sunscreen, the value of sun protection Factor(SPF) and Protection Factor of UVA(PFA) were determined. SPF and PFA values of transparent sunscreen were indicated 30.99±1.65 and 3.01±0.30.

        Simultanious quantitative determination of Cetyltrimetyl ammonium chloride(CTM), Stearamidopropyl dimetylamine(SAP), Behentriammonium chloride(BHT), Dihexadeyldimethyl ammonium chloride(DHDDM) was carried out by reversed phase HPLC. The 0.2% TFA/Methanol was used for the mobile phase of gradient conditions. An Alltech C18(250 mm × 4.6 mm i.d., 5 μm)and the selected ELSD detector was applied. The analysis results of HPLC showed goodlinearity with correlation coefficient of r2=0.997 in the rage of 130~1,980.5 ㎍/mL and detection limit.

        An enantioselective recognition of D- and L-tryptophan (Trp)-b-cyclodextrin (CD) inclusion complex was performed using electrochemical and FT-Raman spectroscopic analysis. From the electrochemical analysis, the selectivity coefficient (KDL) of b-CD inclusion complexes was found higher than that of the D- and L-Trp in phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH=7.0) solution. The percentage of enantioselectivity (I%ee) for peak current of D-Trp-b-CD inclusion complexes was observed higher than that of L-Trp-b-CD inclusion complexes in PBS solution. From Raman spectroscopy, chemical shift difference (D, cm-1) for the C=C stretch, ring vibration, and ring breathing of D-Try-b-CD inclusion complex were observed higher than that of L-Trp-b-CD inclusion complex. The electrochemical and Raman spectroscopic analyses were found very useful for chiral detection of racemic amino acid in the presence of b-CD.

        Akebia quinata fruit(AQF), as identified in the preceding paper, polyphenols and other phenolic components of saponin also has similar or higher levels. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of akebia quinata fruit extract, well-known for soothing, anti-oxidizing effects, on the improvement of the moisture, sebum, melanin, erythema content of facial skin. As a result of measuring DPPH radical scavenging activity to examine independent anti-oxidation of AQF, there was a slight scavenging activity. Compared to before the usage of cream, a group who used cream with akebia quinata fruit extract showed a very slight increase in the moisture content and slight decrease in the sebum, melanin, erythema on their faces after 4 weeks of tests, indicating that there was some statistically significant changes found. This study proves that the akebia quinata fruit(AQF) extract has a positive effect on the overall improvement of facial skin and italso implies that the akebia quinata fruit extract has high potential as an ingredient of cosmetic products.

        The effects of different feeding times, using a diet containing 800 ppm betaine, on production, blood profile, and the short-chain fatty acid (SCFA), was investigated using 240 Cherry Valley (Anas platyrhynchos) meat ducks exposed to a scorching heat wave. The animals were randomly assigned to four groups, each of which was replicated three times with twenty ducks per replicate. The experimental period was 42 days for each group. Four groups were assigned into C (heat wave control group without betaine), T1 (ad libitum group fed a diet containing 800 ppm betaine), T2 (diet-restricted group fed twice daily between 05:00-10:00 and 17:00-20:00, using a diet containing 800 ppm betaine), and T3 (night-restricted group, fed from 17:00-10:00, with a diet containing 800 ppm betaine). At 42 days, body weight increased in order of T2, T1, T3 compared to the heat wave control group although. However, these differences were not found between the groups of T1 and T3. The heat wave control group, provided an ad libitum diet without betaine (C), showed an elevated feed conversion ratio compared to the groups fed a diet containing betaine. However, these differences were not found between the groups of T1, T2 and T3. RBC and platelet profiles except for PLT and MPV showed statistically significant differences between study groups fed a diet containing betaine. T2 presented significantly higher blood electrolytes Na+ and Cl- than the other groups. T2 also showed a blood gas level that was generally higher than the other groups. Total SCFA, acetic acid and propionic acid concentration has been the increasing trend in T2, but butyric acid, isobutyric acid and valeric acid concentration has been the decreasing trend in T2 compared to the other groups. It is concluded that the feeding-restricted group, fed two times daily between 05:00-10:00 and 17:00-20:00, with a diet containing 800 ppm betaine may improve growth performance in meat ducks exposed to a scorching heat wave.

        Total phenol contents, total flavonoid contents and antioxidant activity of 70% methanol, 70% ethanol and chloroform-methanol (CM, 2:1, v/v) extracts from onion (Allium cepa L.) peels were studied. The IC50 values of DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) radical and ABTS [2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) diammonium salt] radical scavenging activity in 70% ethanol extract were remained to be lowest followed by 70% methanol extract and CM extract. And the total phenol content (113.56±0.86 mg CAE/g), total flavonoid content (49.63 mg QE/g) and ferric reducing antioxidant power value were also found to be the highest. In contrast, 70% methanol extract possessed the strongest antioxidant activity by β-carotene bleaching assay. CM extract displayed the lowest antioxidant activity compared with other extracts. Onion peels exhibited strong antioxidant activity and abundant phytochemicals, which could be used in a various food products to add phytochemicals and promote good health.

        The purpose of this study is to treat the ballast water by shear stress without an environmental pollution and to find out the optimal treatment conditions. The ballast water problem is issued up as the trade activated and the cargos mobilized. To improve this problem, International Marine Organization(IMO) make the rule about the ballast water treatment with specific restrictions. Although many countries have been studying about the ballast water treatment technology, there is almost no technology that can treat the microorganisms under 50μm withoutany secondary pollution. In this study, we tried to treat ballast water by applying shear stress as the physical treatment for the sterilization and tried to find out the optimal conditions including the 100% sterilizing rate and the best economic condition.

        Carbon composites for flexible fiber heating element were examined to improve the electrical conductivity in this study. Carbon composites using carbon black, denka black, super-c, super-p with/without CNF or dispersant such as BCS03 and Sikament-nn were prepared. Carbon composite slurry was coated on plane film and yarns(cotton, polyester) and the performances of prepared heating materials were investigated by checking electrical surface resistance, adhesion strength. The plane heating element using carbon black under natural drying condition(25℃) had better physical properties such as surface resistance(185.3 Ohm/sq) and adhesion strength(above 90%) than those of other carbon composite heating elements. From these results, polyester heating element coated by carbon black showed better electrical line resistance(33.2 kOhm/cm) than cotton heating element. Then, it was found that polyester heating element coated by carbon black with CNF(3 wt%) and BCS03(1 wt%) appeared best properties(0.604 kOhm/cm).

        This study investigated the pharmacodynamics of betaine on the blood profile and short chain fatty acid levels in meat ducks exposed to heat wave. 400 heads of Cherry valley (Anasplatyrhynchos) meat ducks were completely randomized to 5 treatments (4 repetitions each), and were raised for 42 days. They were grouped into T1 (heat wave control group without betaine), T2 (betaine 400 ppm), T3 (betaine 800 ppm), T4 (betaine 1200 ppm), and T5 (normal control group without betaine). Compared to T1, the betaine addition groups showed higher body weight gain at shipment, with T3 showing the highest significant difference. For hematological indictors measured (red blood cells and platelets), the betaine addition groups showed significantly higher values than the heat wave control group. The pH of the former was lower but their electrolytes (K+, P+, and Cl-) were significantly higher compared to the latter. For blood gas concentration, the former showed a significantly higher value than the latter. For the total short chain fatty acids, acetic acid, and propionic acid, the betaine addition groups and group fed broiler-high temperature diet showed higher values than the heat wave control group. On the other hand, the former showed significantly lower values in butyric acid, isobutyric acid, valeric acid, and isovaleric acid than the latter group. These results suggest that betaine has the pharmacodynamics that mediate heat stress, via the maintenance and control of the blood profile, osmotic pressure, gas concentration, and short chain fatty acid, of meat ducks under heat wave.

        The rheological properties of complex materials such as colloid dispersion show complicated non-Newtonian flow phenomena when they are subjected to shear flow. These flow properties are controlled by the characteristics of flow units and the interactions among the flow segments. The rheological parameters of relaxation time (β2)0, structure factor C2 and shear modulus X2/α2 for various thixotropic flow curves was obtained by applying thixotropic equation to flow curves. The variations of rheological parameters are directly related to non-Newtonian flows, viscosities and activation energies of flow segments.

        This study was conducted to increase the shelf life of peeled-garlic by edible coating material such as carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC) with sodium benzoate, citric acid and lecithin. Peeled-garlic were stored in a storage chamber at 25℃ and were taken at regular intervals for analysis. The changes in weight loss, colour change, browning, decaying loss and texture of the coated samples with storage time were investigated in comparison with the uncoated samples to determine the delay in the deterioration time of the samples. The coatings contributed to a lower reduction in weight loss. The coatings decreased the browning and decaying loss loses in comparisonto the uncoated peeled-garlic. It was possible to extend the storage period with lower weight loss until 32 days by coating peeled-garlic surfaces with emulsions containing CMC. It was found that the emulsion prepared using the mixture of lecithin, CMC, citric acid, sodium benzoate and water was suitable for the coating of peeled-garlic.

        n-Butanol and ethyl acetate extracts of thermal treatment yam (Dioscorea batatas DECNE.) belonging to the family Dioscoreaceae were measured for their radical scavenging activity and lipid peroxidation inhibition ability. In this study, ethyl acetate extract showed the most potent antioxidant activity evaluated by ferrous ion chelating activity and NO radical scavenging activity. Nevertheless, n-butanol extract was more effective in inhibiting linoleic acid peroxidation. A significant difference between n-butanol extract and ethyl acetate extract in nitrite scavenging activity β-carotene bleaching assays could not be found. Also, the results of this study showed that thermal treatment yam could be used as easily accessible source of natural antioxidants and as a possible food supplement.

        오늘날 지구온난화를 줄이기 위한 노력으로 온실가스 저감 기술 개발에 대한 노력이 정부차원에서 이루어지고 있으며 그 일환으로 국내에서는 2006년부터 자동차용 경유에 바이오디젤이 혼입되고 있다. 비록 일부 품질 기준상의 개선사항이 남아 있고 대부분의 원료를 수입에 의존하고 있다는 점에서 제한요소가 있음에도 2013년 기준 년간 400kton를 생산하고 있으며 향후 신재생에너지 연료 혼합의무화 제도(RFS)가 시행되면 그 생산양은 더욱 증가할 것으로 예상되는바 원료 다변화를 통한 원료 불균형 해소와 이에 따른 적절한 연구 개발이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 신규 바이오디젤 원료로 검토되고 있는 라우릭산 메틸에스터(C12:0 FAME) 중심의 팜핵유(PKO, Palm Kernel Oil)와 코코넛유 유래 바이오디젤을 대상으로 국내 품질기준 중 차량 연소계통과 저온성능에 문제를 일으킬 수 있는 글리세린 함량 분석과 관련하여 기존 시험방법(KS M 2412)의 적용 가능성을 조사하였다. 이를 바탕으로 기존 분석조건에서 발생되는 카프릭산 메틸에스터(C10:0 FAME)와의 피크겹침, 총글리세린 도출관련 계산평형상수 등에 대한 개선 사항을 도출하고 보다 다양한 원료를 이용한 바이오디젤 내 글리세린 분석 가능한 시험방법 개발 가능성을 검토하였다.

        본 연구는 멀티플 에멀젼(W/O/W) 시스템을 이용하여 개발한 자외선차단 제품의 자외선차단성능의 지속성과 보습효과에 관한 연구이다. 자외선차단용 화장품은 장시간의 외출, 등산, 레포츠 활동을 할 때 필수적으로 사용하는 제품으로 높은 자외선차단효과와 지속성이 요구되고 있다. 또한, 소비자들은 감성공학적인 측면에서 끈적이지 않으며, 내수성이 우수한 제품을 선호하고 있다. 친수성 (O/W타입) 자외선차단제품의 경우, 사용감은 우수하나, 땀이나, 물에 쉽게 지워지기 때문에 완벽한 자외선차단효과를 기대할 수 없으며, 내수성이 우수한 친유형 (W/O타입) 제품의 경우, 내수성은 우수하나, 끈적임이 심하고, 보습효과가 낮다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 멀티플에멀젼(W/O/W)시스템의 퍼뮬레이션을 개발하여 친수성크림의 부드럽고 촉촉한 사용감을 부여하고 흡수 후에는 내수성이 우수한 W/O 제형으로 변화하여, 우수한 내수성과 자외선차단효과의 지속성을 가지는 고기능성 다중에멀젼의 자외선차단크림을 개발하는 것이 목적이다. 자외선차단크림에 사용된 성분으로 UV-B를 차단하는 원료 에칠헥실메톡시 신나메이트, 이소아밀-p-메톡시신나메이트, 에틸헥실살리실레이트, 옥토크릴렌을 사용하였으며, UV-A차단제로 부틸메톡시디벤조일메탄과 비스에칠헥실옥시페놀 메톡시페닐트리아진을 사용하였다. O/W형 크림의 자외선차단효과를 나타내는 SPF 수치가 34.1, W/O/W형 크림에서는 SPF 수치가 40.6으로, O/W형 크림보다는 19%정도 자외선 차단효과가 상승하는 것으로 나타났다. 4시간 경과 후의 내수성시험에서는 O/W형 크림의 경우 자외선차단효과가 3.6정도로 30.5이상 하락하였으나, 다중에멀젼 시스템에서는 자외선차단효과가 32.7로, 7.9정도 하락하여 81%의 내수성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 사용 30분 후의 보습효과는 친수성크림이 우수하였으나, 3시간 이후의 보습력은 멀티플에멀젼에서 더욱 높은 보습효과를 보였다.

        N-propyl-N,N-dimethylethanolamine의 산란혼탁매질에서 형광, 산란과 응집의 영향은 파장과 산란된 형광세기로 나타내는데, laser induced fluorescence(LIF) 분광학에 의한 분자특성으로 나타난다. 산란매질에서 광학적 효과는 광학적 파라미터들(μs, μa, μt)에 의해 표현되고 응집은 고-액상 분리공정에서 중요하게 활용되고 있다. 따라서 입자가 서로 접근될 때 콜로이드 입자들의 상호작용을 LIF와 응집효과로 분석하였다. Monte Carlo simuation과 실험으로 레이저 광원에서 검출기까지 거리의 함수에 의해 농도가 묽어짐에 따라 산란세기가 기하급수적으로 감소함을 알 수 있었다. 이는 유지화학, 생의학, 레이저 의학, 의공학 분야적용에 LIF와 입자이동 현상은 아주 적합한 모델 연구에 큰 도움이 될 것이다.
