        Coccoidea or scale insects are typically small phloem feeders; they are found on various parts of their host plants, and may infest leaves, twigs, branches and roots, in agricultural, forest and ornamental ecosystems worldwide. Many are highly damaging to their hosts, but others produce useful dyes, or valuable secretions in the form of waxes and resins. Between 2015 and 2016, scale insects were collected intensively in central, northern and southern Laos, resulting in a totally of 71 species belonging to 7 families of Coccoidea. Among these are 25 species recorded from Laos for the first time, they are almost pests, but Kerria lacca (Kerr) an economic species which produces shellac for export.

        본 논문은 예이츠의 다른 희곡작품에 비해 비교적 덜 알려진 􋺷캘버리􋺸 를 주체성과 개인성이라는 주제 아래 집중 분석한다. 􋺷무용수들을 위한 4대극􋺸(1921) 중 하나인 􋺷캘버리􋺸는 오스카 와일드의 산문시 􋺷선의 실천가􋺸(1894)에서 영감을 받았 고 일본 고전극 ‘노’의 형식과 기법을 차용한 극이다. 본 논문에서는 오스카 와일드와 예이츠의 정신적이고 미학적인 연관성과 차이를 조명하고 이를 바탕으로 예이츠의 주 체-객체의 이율배반적 체계와 관련 있는 기독교적인 이미지, 도상, 이야기의 차용에 대해 논의한다. 또한, “환대”의 개념을 둘러싼 레비나스와 데리다의 논쟁을 통해 􋺷캘 버리􋺸에 등장하는 그리스도와 다른 인물들의 주체성 및 그들의 관계를 살펴본다.

        This study was undertaken to achieve a high bleaching efficacy with plasma, through longer application and reparative bleaching processes, by different shade evaluation methods. Extracted human teeth were divided into 6 groups (n=10). All teeth were treated in pairs. Low concentration of 15% carbamide peroxide (CP) was applied, with and without plasma, for 10, 20, and 30-min tooth bleaching, respectively. The bleaching procedure was repeated once daily for four days. The teeth were maintained in a moist environment provided by artificial saliva. The Vitapan Classical shade guide and Commission Internationale de L’Eclairage (CIELAB) color system were collectively used to measure the bleaching efficacy. Color evaluation was statistically analyzed using Student t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) complemented by Tukey’s test. Combining the plasma with 15% CP showed significantly greater color changes compared to bleaching without plasma (p<0.05). A high bleaching efficacy with plasma is proportional to the repetitive application and the treatment time. A 30-min application with plasma provided the best bleaching. Repetitive bleaching showed lower probability of color relapse of the bleached tooth. The color change by shade guide correlated with the changes in CIELAB color system. A value of 1 color change units (CCU) conversion factor for overall color change (ΔE) values comparisons was 3.724 values. The two measuring methods provide a more accurate correspondence of color change. The repetitive and longer application for tooth bleaching, combined with plasma, has a strong bleaching effect and produces whiter teeth.

        We determined the warp parameters of 192 warped galaxies which are selected from 340 edge-on galaxies using color images as well as r-band isophotal maps. We derive the local background density (∑ n) to examine the dependence of the warp amplitudes on the galaxy environment. We find a clear trend that strongly warped galaxies are likely to be found in high density regions where tidal interactions are supposed to be frequent. However, the correlation between αω and ∑ n is too weak for weakly warped galaxies (αω < 4◦) and the cumulative distributions of weakly warped galaxies are not significantly different from those of galaxies with no detectable warps. This suggests that tidal interactions do not play a decisive role in the formation of weak warps.

        예이츠는 1920대의 내전을, 히니는 1968년부터 98년까지의 북아일랜드 사태라는 혼돈의 시대를 경험했다. 이 논문은 이 두 시인의 이 같은 내전에 대한 반 응을 그들의 시를 통해 고찰함을 목적으로 한다. 내전에 대한 예이츠의 반응을 구체적 으로 살펴보면 그는 처음부터 그의 영적 기질과 앵글로 아이리시라는 사회적 정체성에 따라 이룰 수 없는 사랑이나 이상적 과거라는 영적인 유토피아로 도피하려 했고, 아일랜드 공화국 탄생의 밑거름이었던 부활절 봉기에 대해서도 애매한 찬사를 보냈으 며, 내전에 대해서는 환멸과 의도적 회피를 나타냈음을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 그의 후 기 시에서는 낭만적 아일랜드를 옹호하는 앵글로 아이리시의 귀족적인 어조를 찾아낼 수 있었다. 한편 히니의 경우에는 가톨릭 차별에 대해 온건한 저항을 보이지만 다른 한편으로는 북아일랜드 사태의 근원을 찾아내려함과 동시에 화해적인 전략을 추구함 으로써.객관적으로 반응하려 했음을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 예이츠와 히니는 이 같이 해결할 수 없는 내전 상황에서 소수파 예술가이기 때문에 내적 망명인의 길을 택할 수 밖에 없었다는 공통점을 갖고 있다.

        Ribosomal protein L21 (RPL21) plays an important role in ribosome assembly. It is considered to be a major cause for the occurrence of the hypotrichosis simplex (HTS), a type of sustained hair loss from early childhood to adulthood. In this study, the full-length sequence of pig RPL21 gene (GenBank accession number: KU891824) was cloned and identified for the first time. We found it contains a 483-bp open reading frame (ORF) encoding 160 amino acids. It is located in the plus strand of chromosome 11, which spans 2,167 bp from 4,199,792 to 4,201,958. We found RPL21 expression level is closely related to cell proliferation and cell cycle arrest. In the knockdown group, the cell proliferation activity was significantly decreased (P<0.01) and an obvious accumulation of cells at the G2/M phase with a simultaneous up-regulation of p53 and p21 was observed. This likely due to knockdown of RPL21 triggered ribosomal stress, which affected the normal ribosome assembly and caused defective ribosome biogenesis. The unassembled RPs were released consequently from the nucleolus to the nucleoplasm where they can activate p53-dependent cell-cycle responsive factors and led to a G2/M arrest. We expect these results may provide valid information for further study on the pig RPL21 gene and the cause of hypo trichosis simplex.

        An insect is a ectothermal animal that is vulnerable to the temperature change. As climate change accelerated, the distribution of insects have been rapidly changed. Rice is the most important crop in Korea as it is a staple for Korean people. In the rice paddy, migratory pests from south-east Asia have seriously damaged on the crop. As climate changed, the spatial distribution of pest and their effects on rice paddy may be changed. Therefore, monitoring the pest populations is a basis for establishing further research for pest management strategy against these migratory insect pests. As the first year for this monitoring project, we set 20 rice paddies in Gyeonggi-do and Chungcheongnam-do as continuous monitoring sites for five major migratory pests and summarized the first year’s data. Based on it, we will develop better monitoring plan as well as analysis methods.

        Coccoidea are some of the most potentially detrimental pests for agriculture and ornamental plant industries worldwide, including in Laos. Between January 2015 and August 2016, scale insects were collected on variety of hosts. Previously, the known Coccoidea fauna of Laos comprised 35 species. These most recent collections boost the tally to 49 species belonging to 5 families of Coccoidea. Among these, 19 species are here recorded from Laos for the first time: [Coccidae] Ceroplastes floridensis,Ceroplastes rubens, Coccus capparidis, Drepanococcus chiton, Megapulvinaria maxima, Pulvinaria psidii, Saissetia coffeae; [Diaspididae] Aonidiella citrina, Aonidiella inornata, Fiorinia coronate, Lepidosaphes tokionis, Parlatoria proteus; [Lecanodiaspididae] Psoraleococcus multipori; [Monophlebidae], Icerya aegyptiaca; [Pseudococcidae], Phenacoccus madeirensis, Planococcus ficus, Pseudococcus aurantiacus, Pseudococcus baliteus and Rastrococcus jabadiu. All of these newly recorded species occur elsewhere in south-east or east Asia, including countries contiguous with Laos.

        The diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella (DBM) is a major pest of cruciferous vegetables. The insecticide resistance of this pest is very serious and has been reported in more than 600 cases. It is important to evaluate insecticide response to manage the resistant populations In this study, we investigated the insecticide susceptibility of local DBM strains collected from five major cabbage cultivation area in Korea to the ten commercial insecticides with leaf dipping method . As a result, the resistance ratio(R/R) of almost all the tested pesticides was 0.1∼3.3 (low resistant) and there was no differce within local regions. But dinotefuran showed middle resistance with regional differences (R/R , 5.9∼69.4) For the estimate the control effectiveness, we calculated the log value of the recommendation concentration divided by LC90 of pesticides. The result showed that the efficiency of neonicotinoids was generally low and that of emamectin benzoat every high. In conclusion, neonicotinoids was to use carefully and emamectin benzoate was very good alternative in DBM control in Korea

        Suborder Psocomorpha belongs to Psocoptera is one of minor order. Psocids occupy a wide range of habitats, from living as indoor, if outdoor most are presented on bark or foliage of dead or leaving tree and shrubs. All specimens of Psocomorpha that found in the field were putted into 75% of alcohol. Preparation and dissection were done before identification. Previously the list of Psocomorpha comprised 14 species. This most recent collection found nine species. Among of them, two species belong to two families; [Amphipsocidae] Amphipsocus japonicas (Enderlein, 1906) and [Psocidae] Psococerastis tokyoensis (Enderlein, 1906) are report in Korea in the first time.

        Since first reported in 1988 the Pine Wilt Disease has been established and spreaded nearly nationwide in South Korea, causing tremendous economic damage in pine forests. The pine wilt nematode (Bursaphelenchus xylophilus), causing the Pine Wilt Disease, in Korea is known to be transported by two insect vectors that are Monochamus alternatus Hope and Monochamus saltuarius Gebler. Currently the pest management strategy largely relies on pesticide application and infected tree clearing. The aim of the present study was to search for early larval parasitoids of M. alternatus using the sentinel log infested with the cerambycid eggs. Only one braconid species was collected and identified as Spathius verustus Chao. Two to ten wasp larvae attached and fed on one host larva. Parasitism rate was 55.5 to 59 % in Jinju site, while 1 to 18.1 % the other sites. Sex ratio was female-biased (female : male = 18.9 : 1). The S. verstus has potential to be use as parasitic natural enemy of M. alternatus.
