        In case of worm reducer, the worm and worm wheel are the significant design elements. Most of the worm and worm wheel are being importer and assembled because that the localization is inadequate. As the demand increases and the necessity of localization and precision grows, to develop them is now more important things. In this study, we conducted the design, manufactured prototype and performance evaluation for worm reducer for dual lead 5.2:1 servo motor. The worm reducer is analyzed design reliability by finite element method. The performance evaluation for manufactured prototype worm reducer was conducted on the backlash, operation temperature and contact efficiency with/without load and satisfied for the all test items.

        As all kind of industry has developed, metal structure and machine instrument use bolt, pin, rivet and welding for assembly and combination. For pin and hinge, dimension accuracy is crucial to keep the operation and safety of the structure and machine instrument. In case of complex machine, the hinge for cover open-loop system is one of the significant design elements. Most of the hinges are being imported and assembled sine they give high technology development cost for its unit cost position. The reason is that the localization of hinge is inadequate. As the demand increase and the necessity of localization grow, it is now more important than ever to develop low cost structure. By the low cost structure, a new technology could be obtained for electronic product and structural hinge since it would enable for complex machine hinge to be guaranteed, technologically. Open-loop hinge is the link type and designed for the structure to keep constant open-loop. And, the hinge is examined in design stability by finite element analysis method. In this paper, the operation result is presented when the hinge for complex machine open-loop is designed for link type structure.

        This study describes a hydraulic fluid property compensator under the various operating conditions. Because hydraulic fluid systems have much more excellent features than other control systems, they are used in many fields. However, the characteristics of hydraulic fluid are changed due to various operating conditions. This phenomenon is called uncertainty. Especially, bulk modulus is considered as the most dominant parameter in this study. In order to overcome the uncertainty ∞ control technique will be used for this study. Designed controller using the ∞ control technique, is adopted for the hydraulic fluid multistage double acting oil pressure cylinder. Repetition operation test gives from 5 to 8 percent errors in moving position.

        There are many types of reduction drives for industrial uses. However, it is essential to use precision reduction drives for accuracy of position controls on robot systems. Among the precision reduction drives, the cycloid reduction drive is well known for its high performances and widely used in precision industrial field. Cycloid reduction drives are mainly used in manipulators in robot system requiring a characteristic of a high precision control. When we design this cycloid reduction drive, there are many factors that must be considered. First, a geometrical analysis of a tooth shape must be drawn from the basic concept. Secondly, load distribution, stress distribution and sliding velocity on a tooth should be calculated exactly. Finally, a computer software to optimize the design of a cycloid tooth needs developing. In this study, many different kinds of factors concerning the characteristic of a cycloid tooth were researched on the basis of the analysis of load, stress and sliding velocity on a tooth. The computer expert system to design the cycloid reduction drive was developed using a Visual C++ compiler. In conclusion, the most important factors can be obtained easily as the user put the simple input data.

        The multistage double acting oil pressure cylinder can overcome limits of a stroke of cylinder. Development target of the multistage double acting oil pressure cylinder makes a overcome operation distance, in the case of transport of bodies or tension, contraction working. It's structure is composed that fluid flow pipelines are inserted in the cylinder. In the serial arrangement of reciprocating cylinders, the multistage double acting oil pressure cylinder can prevent a buckling or cylinder loss because assemble arrangement is simple type of insertion way. Using the MSC.Visual Nastran, the 3D simulation was executed. Through the 3D simulation, we ascertained that the multistage double acting oil pressure cylinder could be adapted to a elevation system.

        Conventional product development process employs a design-build break philosophy which is sequentially executed product development process. It often results in a prolonged lead-time and a high product cost. This paper proposes the concurrent engineering design approach integrating design process to solve the above problems. The proposed approach in this paper holds potential for shortening the overall product development cycle, improving product quality, and reducing product cost. This paper presents three concepts and methods for product development : (1) considering product performance, quality and cost together in early design stage, (2) supporting design decision-making through a quantitative approach, and (3) incorporating rapid prototyping and virtual prototyping for design verification.
