Hot water extracts from 16 domestic edible mushrooms including Pleurotus ferulae (Lanzi) X.L. Mao, Lentinula edodes (Berk.) Pegler, and Hypsizygus marmoreus (Peck) H.E. Bigelow, which are commercially available, were used for determining the cosmetic potential of these mushrooms. In this study, we carried out in vitro functional experiments to determine the inhibitory effects of these extracts on L-DOPA oxidation of tyrosinase and melanin synthesis. Based on the results of these experiments, H. marmoreus (Peck) H.E. Bigelow No. 10 and No. 15 were selected for further analysis. We analyzed the melanin synthesis inhibitory activity, TRP1 and MITF expression via real-time PCR, and Fontana Masson staining in artificial skin Neoderm®-ME. Taken together, we observed that the hot water extract from H. marmoreus (Peck) H.E. Bigelow (No. 15) had better whitening effect than the extracts of other mushrooms. 국내 시판 식용버섯 중 아위버섯 및 황금송이버섯, 표고 등을 포함한 16종을 열수추출하여 추출물의 미백 및 주름개선 등의 향장학적 기능성을 확인하였다. 피부 keratinocytes인 HaCaT cell에 각각의 열수추출물을 1,000 μg/ml 및 100μg/ml, 10μg/ml 농도로 하여 실험한 결과 모든 농도에서 cytotoxic은 발견되지 않았으며, wound healing assay를 통하여 cell migration과 proliferation을 확인할 수 있었다. 미백효과를 확인하고자 tyrosinase inhibition 및 DOPA oxidation inhibition, Melanin contents를 분석한 결과 갈색백만송이버섯 (Hypsizygus marmoreus (Peck) H.E. bigelow)과 만가닥버섯(Hypsizygus marmoreus (Peck) H.E. bigelow)이 다른 버섯의 열수 추출물에 비하여 가장 우수한 효능을 나타냈으며 이 결과를 토대로 2 종의 버섯 열수추출물을 이용하여 인공피부 Neoderm®-ME로 기능성을 확인하였다. 또한, 주름개선 및 광노화 억제에 대한 효과를 확 인하고자 elastase inhibitory activity, collagenase inhibitory activity 및 UVB 조사 후 MTT assay를 분석한 결과 흰색백만송이버섯(Hypsizygus marmoreus (Peck) H.E. bigelow)과 갈색백만송이버섯 (Hypsizygus marmoreus (Peck) H.E. bigelow)이 다른 버섯 추출물에 비하여 가장 우수한 효능을 나타냈으며 이결과를 토대로 인공피 부 Neoderm®-ED로 그 기능성을 확인하였다.
