Nowadays Hyperbolic Navigation System-LORAN, DECCA, OMEGA, OMEGA-is available on the ocean, and Spherical Navigation System, GPS (Global Positioning System) is operated partially. Hyperbolic Navigation System has the blind area near the base line extention because divergence rate of hyperbola is infinite theoretically. The Position Accuracy is differ from the cross angle of LOP although each LOP has the same error of quantity. GDOP(Geometric Dilution of Precisoin) is used to estimate the position accuracy according to the cross angle of LOP and LOP error. Hyperbola and ellipse are crossed at right angle everywhere. Hyperbola and ellipse are used to LOP in Rectangular Navigation System. The equation calculating the GDOP of rectangular Navigation System is induced and GDOP diagram is completed in this paper. A scheme that can improve the position accuracy in the blind area of Hyperboic Navigation System using the Rectangular Navigation System is proposed through the computer simulation.

A Satellite -aided search and rescue system is expected for its many advantage of global coverage, instantaneousness and low cost. In this paper, a calculation method is proposed , by which a position of distress can be determined with doppler frequency received through an orbital satellite. First, an algorithm and program is developed for calculating the position of distress with the received doppler frequency of EPIRB(Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon) with the least square method. Then, position error caused by the drift of the transmitting frequency is evaluated. The evaluation is made by the simulation using NNSS satellite orbital elements and varying position of EPIRB, numbers of Doppler data and magnitudes of various errors. As the result, the availability of this program for a satellite-aided search and rescue system is confirmed and the bounds of expected positioning accuracy is clarified.

In this paper, the equations calculating GDOP are induced in Hyperboic, and Spherical Navigation System, respectively, The GDOP diagram shows that the DGOP in the inner region of Beacons is similar each other, but the GDOP of Hyperboic Navigation System is much larger than that of Spherical Navigation System due to GDOP in the outer region of Beacons. The authors propose the algorithm estimating the pulse starting time using the Hyperboic Navigation System, and prove that if Navigation use the Spherical Navigation System by adopting the proposed Algorithm -in this case, "Pseudo Sperical Navigation System" - in the outer region where GDOP is becoming large, the position errors can be reduced.e reduced.

This paper describes the design theory of a weakly-coupled Tap-off with high density of coupling intervals for CATV and/or MATV systems, by which the degree of freedom in design and density of coupling intervals are significantly increased compared with the intrinsic one. It is also described how to construct the two-way divider (Tap-off) in the generalized type. Furthermore, the practical measurements of the frequency characteristics for a fabricated circuit show very good agreements with theoretical results.

The conventional school affairs management, with an example of Korea Martitime University (KMU), is studied through the university codes and its internal regulations and the inevitable problems of the conventional school affairs are analyzed. From the view points of complexity of the educational structure and increase in educational population, the computerized school affairs management is increasingly requested. Therefore, in order to design and implement a computerized school affairs management system, a code-system suitable for the KMU is, first of all, constructed and then a data base which copes with various reforms or changes is developed by using the code system and the IMAGE/DMBS of a HP-9040AM computer. A FORTRAN example program shows that the designed data base can be easily transformed into on-line system and made good use of managing school affairs. Furthermore, it is recommended that the university authority organize a research team for designing the total system in future university administration and solving difficult problems occurring through the computerization.

Abroad-band design method of a lumped-element 3 dB quadrature hybrid without magnetic coupling is proposed and discussed, where techniques of cascading fundamental hybrids via second-order delay equializers and adding matching sections are adopted. It is shown that the designed broad-band lumped-element 3 dB quadrature hybrid can be easily constructed and its bandwidth reaches up to 54%. Furthermore, the experiments have been carried out, the results of which agree with the theoretical ones, and hence, the validity of the broad-band design method proposed here was confirmed.

The aspects of Omega phase prediction are briefly reviewed, and Swanson's Model and Pierce's Model are presented. The equations for the Omega phase prediction and the most probable coefficients of the propagating equations are derived on the base of Pierce's Model by the least square method. The coefficients are calculated from the data which are the phase differences between the pairs of the Station A (Aldra, Norway), C(Haiku, Hawaii), and D(La Mour, North Dakota) observed at Busan Harbor of the South Coast of Korea in June and September, 1976. It is clearly shown that the standard deviations of the observed lane values at Busan Harbor are as followed: 1. June, 1976. Pair (A-C) : 0.1446 Pair (C-D) : 0.2598 2.September, 1976. Pair (A-D) : 0.3958 Pafr (C-D) : 0.3278 As a conclusion of the above investigation, it is shown that the Omega phase velocity can be predicted by the method, proposed in this paper, of analyzing the diurnal and seasonal variations of the Omege phase velocity except SID, PCD and AZD. If more observed data are employed, more exact Omega phase velocity is expected to be obtained.
