This study aims to distinguish between various Ethiopian durum wheat varieties based on their genetic identity using chemical and morphological characterization of seeds. Combinatorial employment of five chemical tests on seeds showed marked qualitative variation among the test varieties, with high discriminatory potential noted for the standard phenol test, followed by the modified phenol and iodide tests. The modified phenol test was instrumental in further discriminating between the varieties that were not identified using the standard phenol test. Unlike the iodide and phenol tests, the NaOH and KOH tests did not show significant variation among the varieties. These results underscore the efficacy of phenol and iodide tests in differentiating between durum wheat varieties. Although the morphological traits were advantageous in seed characterization, they lacked discriminatory power compared with that of the chemical tests. This study concludes that a single test is inadequate for varietal discrimination; rather, a combination of chemical tests can augment the discriminatory potential.
The economy of Tanzania relies on agriculture as the main economic activity, because agriculture provides both food and income to the population of the country, especially the rural households. Improvement of market access to crops also increases the productivity. Therefore, in this study, descriptive statistics and statistical analysis of the probit model were used to analyze the factors that determine the market accessibility of small-scale farmers in Chemba, Tanzania. Cross-sectional data collected by the systematic sampling method for 200 corn peasants in Chemba, Tanzania were used. As a result of probit regression analysis, it was found that access to improved seeds and technology had a positive statistically significant effect on the accessibility to the market, while the age of the head of the household, production cost, distance to the market, and household size had a negative statistically significant effect. Therefore, in this study, policy establishment and implementation are recommended. A policy needs to be considered to reduce the transaction costs that eventually allows the farmers to increase the accessibility to markets, enables small-scale farmers to participate in cooperatives, lowers input costs and provides educational programs on quality products to increase their competitiveness in the marketplace.
이 글은 2023년 5월 서울 아트선재센터에서 개최된 '디지털 복제 시대의 회화' 세미나 에서 발표했던 글을 발전시킨 것으로, 회화를 스크린과 모바일 기기에서 디지털 방식으로 복 제하는 것과 마주할 때의 충격과 윤리적 측면을 조명해 보고자 하였다. 이 연구에서 나는 영 국의 영화 제작자 사이먼 이브즈가 그의 영화 <회화의 초상>(2022)에서 나의 그림들 가운데 하나를 클로즈업하여 묘사한 것을 토대로, 클로즈업의 개념에 대해 고찰해 보고, 회화에 대 한 디지털 복제가 예술작품에 대한 번역이 될 수 있다는 아이디어를 검토해 보았다.
NFTs are touted as revolutionary to market and monetize digital assets. However, critics have questioned NFT value, labeling it as fraudulent. Despite mixed reviews, various firms are leveraging NFTs as a value proposition for customers. In this study, using service-dominant (S-D) logic, we explore how NFTs can help firms in value co-creation and service exchange. We propose and test a conceptual framework using a multi-method approach -1) we investigate NFTs popularity using historical news articles spanning ten years, 2) we use a case study to examine business NFT use in value co-creation and service exchange, subsequently, proposing a conceptual framework illustrating such value exchange, 3) we test our conceptual framework by analyzing data from multiple sources, including surveys, online forums, social media, and transactions. Results from our study, provide business valuable insight into using NFTs as value co-creation and service exchange tool.
This study investigated the role of competition in academic settings by conceptualizing competitive engagement and examining how competition self-efficacy defined as confidence in one’s ability to outperform others could mediate learner engagement and self-determination to learn English as a foreign language (EFL). Within the context of a videoconference EFL course, a cross-sectional research design was employed during the fourth semester of remote teaching in South Korea due to COVID-19. Statistically significant relationships existed among variables. Students reported high levels of cognitive and behavioral engagement but low levels of competitive engagement. Through structural modeling, competitive engagement emerged as a conceptually unique form of engagement. The relationship between competitive engagement and selfdetermination to learn English when attending an EFL videoconference course was fully mediated by competition self-efficacy. Partial mediation was observed in the relationship between cognitive engagement and self-determination. These findings suggest that both competitive and cognitive engagement are powerful indicators of learning outcomes, especially when learning EFL.
이 논문은 연극적 패러다임(theatrical paradigm)과 관련된 개념들 (연설-행동, 대행, 드라마, 공연, 시뮬레이션, 즉흥연주 등)을 사용하여 신학적 교육과 선교적 실천을 향상시키는데 목적을 두고 있다. 이러한 개념들은 하나님과 인간의 상호관계, 창조-구속 역사, 성육신-선교적 운동, 또는 하나님 나라의 종말론적 관점을 이해하는 데 중요한 비유를 제공하는 “Theodrama”라는 주제로 통합될 수 있다. 본 논문의 목적은 Theodrama 연극적 패러다임의 기독교 삶과 선교적 함의에 관하여 살펴보 는 것이다. 논문의 개요는 다음과 같다. (1) Theodrama의 이론적 근거 (화행론, 행위주체론, 공연론, 드라마 내러티브 관점); (2) Theodrama의 실제적 방법론 (무대에서의 시뮬레이션, 삶의 즉흥성); (3) Theodrama의 선교적 의미 (해석학적 과정, 선교적 적용).
Tin slag is a byproduct obtained from the tin smelting industry and contained naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM); therefore, it has to be managed accordingly. This study focuses on recycling the waste in exchange for natural aggregates for road pavement due to the potential features as construction materials. The main objective of this study is to analyze the use of tin slag by diluting its radioactivity level and as the replacement of natural aggregates while focusing on identifying the mechanical properties of the mixture. Tin slag was used as coarse aggregate in the range of 0–85% while the percentage of recycle glass was maintained at 15% and granite rocks in range of 0–100%. In this research, the concentration activity of NORM in tin slag have been measured using a gamma ray spectrometer. Few laboratory tests for the final product are carried out such as Los Angeles abrasion value (LAAV), aggregate crushing value (ACV), and aggregate impact value (AIV). This study was also conducted to analyze the leachability of As, Cd, Ba, Cr, Pb, Se and Ag from the different composition. From the measurement result, the average concentration of 226Ra, 232Th and 40K are 318.21 Bq·kg−1, 602.07 Bq·kg−1 and 89.84 Bq·kg−1, respectively. The outdoor dose rates were found to be lower than 1.5 mSv·yr−1 in sample A1, A2 and A3 which is the recommended limit for construction materials. The sample toxicity was assessed using the toxicity characteristic leaching procedure (TCLP) and the concentration of the elements studied was analysed using ICP-MS. The result from the analysis indicated that the concentrations of the heavy metal elements were between 0.001–26.94 mg·kg−1, which is lower than the limit for each element. As a conclusion, addition of tin slag between 5 to 25% in exchange of granite rocks as road pavement have showed potential evidence in the test for construction material. Besides, it has low leachability to the environment while diluting the radioactivity level.
소셜 네트워크는 우리 일상 생활의 필수적인 부분이 되었다. 소셜 미디어 정보에 대한 정서 분석은 소셜 네 트워킹 사이트에 대한 사람들의 견해, 태도, 감정을 이해하는 데 도움이 된다. 전통적인 정서 분석은 주로 텍 스트에 의존한다. 스마트폰이 등장하면서 문자뿐만 아니라 이미지 등 네트워크 상의 정보도 점차 다양해지고 있다. 많은 경우 이미지가 감정을 독립적으로 표현하기 보다는 텍스트를 향상시킬 수 있다는 것이 밝혀졌습 니다. 우리는 새로운 이미지 텍스트 정서 분석 모델(LSTM-VAA)을 제안한다. 구체적으로 이 모델은 사진 정보 를 직접 입력으로 가져가지 않고 VGG16 네트워크를 사용하여 이미지 특징을 추출한 다음 시각적 측면 주의 를 생성하고 문서의 핵심 문장에 더 높은 가중치를 부여하고 시각적 측면 주의를 기반으로 문서 표현을 얻 는다. 또한, 우리는 LSTM 네트워크를 사용하여 텍스트 감성을 추출하고 텍스트만을 기반으로 문서 표현을 얻 는다. 마지막으로, 우리는 두 분류 결과 그룹을 통합하여 최종 분류 레이블을 얻는다. 옐프 레스토랑 리뷰 데 이터 세트에서, 우리의 모델은 감정 분류를 위한 시각 주의 보조 텍스트로 시각 정보를 사용하는 것의 효과 를 검증하는 BiGRU-m VGG보다 18.92% 높은 62.08%의 정확도를 달성한다. 비스타넷 모델보다 0.32% 높아 비스타넷 모델의 이미지가 텍스트를 완전히 커버할 수 없는 결함을 LSTM 모델이 효과적으로 보완할 수 있 음을 입증했다.
As a new entertainment and social way, online games now have a huge and increasing user group, so it is of great significance to identify the data stream of online games. Using the excellent nonlinear fitting ability of BP neural network and the advantages of global search of genetic algorithm, the initial weights and thresholds of BP neural network are optimized, and the BP neural network model optimized by genetic algorithm is established. The muti-dimensional input information is proposed to identify online game data streams. Through the experimental simulation, it shows that the selected muti-dimensional information and the established model can be well applied to online game stream recognition.
As the initial form of human civilization, games are symbolic interactive behaviors full of emotional communication. With the development of technology, mobile online games have become a new mass entertainment and social media and profoundly changed people's communication mode. Mobile online games have inherited the emotional interaction behavior in traditional games, but also opened up a new emotional interaction mode, reshaping modern people's cognition and communication. Players establish contact with other players through games to produce interactive behaviors, and the essence of interactive behaviors is the process of emotional communication. The rapid development of mobile online games has not only changed the development of social economy, but also changed the economic and social relations between people and society, as well as the emotional cognitive style. This paper holds that the essence of any interactive behavior is the process of emotional communication, which will have a far-reaching impact on society and individuals. Studying gamer and society under modern conditions from the perspective of emotional communication may better understand our life and existence. On the other hand, in the process of emotional interaction, the inevitable conflict causes one or more negative emotions to breed, which may gradually develop into serious social problems, especially adolescent health problems. Therefore, how to make better use of the positive effects of emotional communication in mobile online games in real life, work and study, and how to avoid and solve the social and personal problems that may arise in the process of emotional communication in mobile online games are practical problems that need to be further considered and solved in future research.
This paper presents a Raman spectroscopy study of the influence of methane flow on the micro-tribological behavior of diamond-like carbon coatings deposited with an industrial plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition system. Results have shown a direct relationship between the methane flow and thickness of the coatings. The analysis of the Raman spectra and deposition parameters allowed establishing the influence of H content with the methane flow, the disorder level and estimation of the sp3 fraction on the carbon coatings. The micro-tribology tests showed a strong dependence of the wear resistance and hardness with Raman parameters. The coating deposited at 72-sccm methane flow presented a thickness of 1.7 μm and a sp3 fraction of 0.33. This sp3 fraction gave rise to a hardness of 24 GPa and an excellent wear resistance of 3.3 × 10–6 mm3 N−1 mm−1 for this DLC coating. Wear tests showed a swelling in the wear profiles on this coating, which was associated with the occurrence of a re-hybridization process.
This paper describes Natural Language Processing techniques to extract patterns of destination image formation from Social Media postings. In a pilot study, we show how Twitter postings can be mined to uncover travel motivations and values for various travel destinations; we also explore the mental representations that underly these values and motivations. While this pilot study is subject to limitations, the results demonstrate that Twitter data is a compelling source of information about travellers and destinations.
