This paper describes the traditional Ondol medical care, the specific combination of ancient and contemporary examples to be articulated. As a traditional Korean culture, to be extracted from the historical perspective, it described the relationship and origins between them, From a health perspective, in accordance with the logic and pharmacology it introduced Ondol as the important principle of health care equipment. The modern architecture of some common harmful to the body, from the perspective of Ondol, it should be improved and based on scientific proof to the theory.

Functionalized organic polymers have been used as supports for heterogenized homogeneous catalytic process[1]. Sprcific advantages of using these resins as support reagents have been reviewed[2-4]. These include: -ease of by-product separation from the main reaction product usuallyby simple filtration. -prevention of intermolecular reaction of reactive species or functional groups by simulating high dilution conditions[5]. -utility of the "fish-hook" principle in which a minor component in fished out of a large excess substrate by the insoluble polymer[6]. -the possibility of reusing recovered reagents as well as eliminating the use of volatile or noxious substances[7]. Catalysis by ion-exchange membranes is perhaps one of the latest examples of the use of a polymer-supported species. Conceptually, catalysts on membrane supports offer several possible advantages over traditional powder type systems. They are: (1) Membranes immobilize the catalyst, preventing agglomeration. (2) Filtration is unnecessary for the catalyst separation and so complete catalyst recovery is facilitated. (3) Catalytyic and separation processes can be combined, allowing membrane supported catalysts for the continous flow reactors. reactors.

New empirical relations between stellar CaII emission and rotation or age are derived by analyzing Wilson's CaII flux measurements (1968, 1978) of lower main sequence stars, and then we correlate them with their age and rotation rate. It is found that stellar chromospheric emission decays smoothly with age as a star slows down rotationally, establishing that both the emission level and rotation rate decrease with the square root of age.

The level of β-glucan which is a major soluble dietary fiber found in the grain endosperm cell wall was highly variable among 25 barley genotypes grown at four locations including Suwon, Naju, Jinju, and Jeju. Statistically significant genotypic effects were observed for β-glucan content at each or across growing sites (P<0.001). On average, 'Chalssalbori' showed the lowest percentage β-glucan (4.04%) among genotypes in the grain, whereas 'Yonezawa Mochi' was highest in percentage β-glucan (6.46%) compared to other genotypes. The significant difference between genotypes was approximately 1-2% across environments. The effects of location or interaction between locations and genotypes were not significant on the variation of β-glucan contents. High β-glucan content seemed to be greatly associated with such grain traits as waxiness and presence of husk except for 'Chalssalbori'. The waxy genotypes had a mean of 5.37% and values ranging from 5.28 to 5.47%, but normal genotypes had a mean of 4.78% and values ranging from 4.69 to 4.88% over environments. Hulless barley genotypes were also higher than hulled barley genotypes for the average β-glucan content in both individual and over all environments. The difference between the hulled and hulless gene pools was on average of 0.37% with ranges from 0.19% to 0.56% at four environments. β-glucan content measured from a mapping population of F5 -derived 107 lines derived from the cross between 'Yonezawa Mochi' and 'Neulssalbori' was not significantly associated with other agronomic traits except for 1,000-kernel weight at the '01 Suwon environment. Not too much information on the relationship of β-glucan content to agronomic traits was available.
