본 연구는 소래풀을 경관화훼로 이용하기 위해 온도조건에 따른 발아특성을 알아보고 회귀분석(bilinear, parabolic, beta distribution)모델을 통해 주요온도(최저, 최적 및 최고온 도)를 구명하고자 하였다. 소래풀 종자는 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35℃ 항온 조건 중 25℃에서 약 6~7일만에 최종발아율이 100%에 도달하였으며, 발아세, 발아속도, 평균발아속도와 평균발아시간이 각각 100%, 21.37ea/day, 14.48, 4.39일 로 다른 처리보다 발아특성이 우수하였다. 이를 바탕으로 발아 속도(germination rate, GR)가 50%인 시점(GR50)을 역수로 (1/GR50)하여 주요온도를 분석한 결과, bilinear모델의 경우, 최저, 최적 및 최고온도는 4.8℃, 25.8℃, 35.6℃였으며 (R2=0.9566, p<0.001), parabolic모델은 최저온도 6.1℃, 최 적온도 21.6℃, 최고온도 36.7℃였다(R2=0.8818, p<0.001). 또한 beta distribution 모델의 주요온도는 최저온도 6.1℃, 최 적온도는 23.1℃, 최고온도 40.1℃였다(R2=0.9102, p<0.001). 본 연구에서 분석한 회귀모델 모두 0.1% 수준에서 통계적 유의 차가 인정된 것으로 보아 소래풀 종자의 발아 시 최저온도는 4.8~6.1℃, 최고온도는 35.6~40.1℃, 최적온도는 21.6~25.8℃ 이며, 50% 이상의 발아율을 기대하였을 때 온도의 범위는 20~25℃가 적합할 것으로 판단된다. 이와 같은 결과는 소래풀 을 이용하여 경관조성을 할 때 파종 및 발아시기를 예측할 수 있는 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 그러나 경관조성 을 하는 현장에서 실질적인 도움을 제공할 수 있도록 발아의 주요온도 모델과 함께 식물의 생물계절 관점에서 추가적인 연구 가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.
This study develops a model to determine the input rate of the chemical for coagulation and flocculation process (i.e. coagulant) at industrial water treatment plant, based on real-world data. To detect outliers among the collected data, a two-phase algorithm with standardization transformation and Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise (DBSCAN) is applied. In addition, both of the missing data and outliers are revised with linear interpolation. To determine the coagulant rate, various kinds of machine learning models are tested as well as linear regression. Among them, the random forest model with min-max scaled data provides the best performance, whose MSE, MAPE, R2 and CVRMSE are 1.136, 0.111, 0.912, and 18.704, respectively. This study demonstrates the practical applicability of machine learning based chemical input decision model, which can lead to a smart management and response systems for clean and safe water treatment plant.
We performed a survey for flavivirus infection and distribution of Aedes albopictus that known as Zika and Dengue virus vector using black–light trap and BG-sentinel trap around urban area in Korea. Mosquitoes were collected in 27 cities during March to November (twice a month) year 2016. Total numbers of mosquitoes collected 102,102 including 19 species 8 genera during collecting period. Total 21,467 Ae. albopictus was collected that 20,961(24.3%) by BG-sentinel trap and 506 (3.2%) by Black-light trap in urban area. Trap index(trap/night) of Ae. albopictus was showed highest in Hamyang (TI:992.3) and lowest in Taebaek (TI:0.3) there was only collected by Black-light trap. A total of 894 pools from all collecting Ae. albopictus were performed a Flavivirus detection. Flavivirus was not detected during study period. This study may provide basic information for surveillance of imported diseases (include Zika virus) and vectors in Korea.
Oxalic acid has a nematicidal activity against the root-knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita. High producer of oxalic acid was isolated, and then named as Aspergillus niger F22. Oxalic acid production was investigated under various temperatures from 20 – 33oC and rotational speeds in 5 L jar fermenters. Yield of oxalic acid increased with decreasing temperature. The highest yield was obtained at 23oC, showing the yield of oxalic acid of 8.7 g/L, whereas oxalic acid production was least at 33oC. At 20oC, the yield was lower than that of 23oC. At a rotational speed of 300 rpm, serious oxygen depletion was present from 48 - 72 h, resulting in low productivity of 26.2 mg /L·h. When a rotational speed was set at 600 rpm, dissolved oxygen tension was over 40% and oxalic acid production increased up to approximately 55%. Viscosity during the culture differed with temperatures. Viscosity increased with the increment of temperatures. When A. niger F22 was cultured at 23oC, viscosity was 810 cP, which was favorable for oxalic acid production.
췌장의 낭종성 질환은 현재 영상기술의 발달로 인하여 우연히 발견되는 경우가 많다. 그리고 췌장 낭종성 질환은 다양한 질환으로 이루어져 있으며 그 종류에 따라 다양한 악성 도를 보인다 췌관의 편평세포낭종은 내층이 비각화 편평 상피로 이루어져 있는 췌관의 낭성 확장을 특징으로 한다. 현재까지 이 질환은 재발이나 악성 변화가 관찰되지 않는 양성 질환으로 알려져 있다. 그러나 저자들은 수술 전 영상검사에서 타 장기 침습 의심 소견을 보이며, 수술 후 경과에서 악성 형태를 보이는 췌관의 편평세포낭종 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고한다.
True hermaphrodites are animals of equivocal sex in which both male and female gonads develop simultaneously. The frequency of true hermaphroditism is higher in pigs than in other domestic animals. Two Korean pigs were diagnosed with true hermaphroditism showing ovotestes, epididymes, penes, and uteri. Histomorphologically, the testicular tissues consisted of Sertoli cells that were devoid of spermatogenic germ cells and showed proliferation of interstitial cells. However, the uteri were of normal architecture and had well-developed uterine endometrial glands. The samples were 38, XX female karyotype without the sex-determining region Y (SRY) gene. The Chinese Hamster Ovarian cells CHOK1 are one of the most extensively used cells for the evaluation of gene expression and toxicology. However, these cells are frequently used for biomedical research without consideration of their cytogenetic characteristics. Therefore, we carried out to investigate the karyologic profiles, the frequency and type of chromosome aberration, and the distribution of telomeric DNA on chromosomes of the CHOK1 cells. The GTGbanding and fluorescence in situ hybridization on CHOK1 cells were performed to characterize the karyotype and the distribution of telomeric DNA. The present study revealed that the chromosome modal number of CHOK1 cells was 2n=20; eight chromosomes appeared to be identical with those of the normal Chinese hamster, whereas the remaining 12 chromosomes were shown to be translocated, deleted, inversed, or rearranged from Chinese hamster chromosomes. The telomeric DNA on CHOK1 chromosomes was intensively distributed at the centromeres rather than the ends of chromosomes. In addition, three chromosomes had interstitial telomeres and one marker chromosome entirely consisted of telomeric DNAs. The frequency and type of chromosome aberrations in CHOK1 cells were examined. Of the 822 metaphase spreads, 68 (8.3%) cells resulted in chromosome aberrations of which the chromosome breakage was the most frequently occurred.
1994년 7월 중에 부천지역의 대중음식점에서 물냉면으로 판매되고 있는 냉면육수 7점을 수거하여 대장균군의 오염도를 조사하였다. 아울러 4점의 냉면육수로부터 무작위로 각각 10개씩, 합계 40개의 대장균군 집락을 분리하여 동정을 하고 저온에서의 증식성도 조사하였다. 냉면육수 중의 대장균군 수는 6.0×10 exp (2)∼6.5×10 exp (4)/㎖(평균 2.3×l0 exp (4)/㎖)이었다. 분리된 40개의 균주 중에서 27개 (67.5%)는 Klebsiella속으로, 9개(22.5%)는Enterobacter속으로, 2개(5.0%)는 Citrobacter속으로, 2개(5.0%)는 Escherichia속으로 각각 동정되었다. Klebsiella속에 속하는 27개의 균주 중에서 11개(40.8%)는 K. planticola로, 4개(14.8%)는 K. pneumoniae로, 2개(7.4%)는 K. ozaenae로, 2개(7.4%)는 K. terrigena로 동정되었고, 비전형적인 8개(29.6%)의 Klebsiella는 species동정이 불가능하였다. 40개의 대장균군 균주는 모두 10℃에서 증식하는 저온성균에 해당되었고, 이중 18개(45%)는 5℃에서도 증식하였다. 본 실험의 냉면육수에서 분리된 모든 대장균군이 저온성균이라는 사실은 냉면육수 중에 지나치게 많은 수의 대장균군이 검출되는 이유를 설명하는 좋은 기초자료가 될 것으로 생각된다.
Telomeres at the end of the eukaryotic chromosomes consist of tandem repeats of (TTAGGG)n DNA sequence and shelter in protein complex. Telomeres have the essential functions in chromosome stability and genome integrity and are hence related to cell senescence and cancer. Stripped, Black and White Cattle (Endangered Korean Native Cattle) characterized by their coat color, live in the Korean peninsula. However, they are endangered, with very small populations remaining. To investigate the karyotypic pattern of chromosome and also to quantify the amount of telomeric DNA was carried out from the traditional Korean beef cattle species, HanWoo and endangered cattle bull. We quantified the amount of telomeric DNA by the Quantitative-Fluorescence in situ Hybridization (Q-FISH) technique using the telomeric DNA probe and chromosome analysis of lymphocytes was carried out using GTG-banding in 9 bull at age of 18 months. In results, we found that the normal (60, XY) male karyotype were detected in metaphase chromosomes from korean native cattle including Hanwoo, Stripped, Black and White cattle, respectively. In addition, there were no significant differences in the relative amount of telomeric DNA among the korean cattle bull. However, the relative amount of telomeric DNA of Hanwoo was slightly higher than that of White cattle. In conclusion, this study reported karytype and the amount of telomeric DNA which could serve as baseline information for comparison in conditions of physiological and health status of endangered Korean native cattle. Although we have no definitive explanations as to why this occurs, further investigations are needed to continue investigation of these animals throughout their life spans.
Recently there are increasing numbers of people participating in sports activities. Accordingly, the rate of sports injuries is increasing as well. In this light, this study was conducted to investigate the extent of acute damage and its forms by examining the current state of patients with sports injuries. This research study was conducted between January of 2008 and December
of 2010 in Chosun University Hospital through retrospective review of the medical records of patients with sportsrelated injuries. The total number of patients with sports injuries who visited the emergency center was 887. The number of male patients was 726 (81.85%), far more than the number of female patients (18.15%). More than half of the patients, accounting for 419 (47.23%), had injuries on their face; second and common parts, in which injuries occurred, were upper and
lower body, accounting for 146 (16.45%) and 193 (21.75%), respectively. The majority of patients did not undergo surgical treatment. Only 113 (12.73%) patients underwent surgical treatment. In addition, more than 80% of them were not hospitalized but 170 of them needed to be hospitalized. Most sports injuries occurred in young male patients. This can interrupt participation in sports activities for a long time and result in lower quality of life. Hence proper preventative measures and scientific treatment methods are needed.
