        본 연구는 순응 잔여효과 패러다임을 이용하여, 아기도식 속성을 담고 있는 여러 시각 자극들(얼굴, 신체실루엣, 손)이 공통의 처리 기제를 통해 나이 지각에 영향을 주는지 확인하고자 하였다. 실험 1에서는 아기 얼굴 혹은 성인 얼굴에 순응시킨 후 아기와 성인 얼굴을 합성(morphing)한 얼굴 자극에 대해 “아기”로 지각되는지 혹은 “성인”으로 지각되는지 판단하도록 하였다. 실험 결과, 아기 순응 조건보다 성인 순응 조건에서 합성 자극을 아기로 지각하는 비율이 더 우세한, 얼굴 나이 순응 잔여효과(age adaptation aftereffect)를 확인하였다. 실험 2와 3에서는 각각 아기와 성인의 신체 실루엣과 손 이미지를 순응자극으로 사용하여 실험 1과 동일한 나이 판단 과제를 실시하였다. 실험 결 과, 신체 실루엣과 손에 대한 순응은 순응자극과 같은 방향의 잔여효과(assimilative aftereffect)를 유발하거나, 순응 후에 제시되는 얼굴에 대한 나이 지각을 편향시키지 않았다. 본 연구는 성인 연령대의 얼굴 자극만을 사용한 선행 연구와 달리, 아기-성인 간 얼굴 나이 순응 잔여효과를 통해 아기와 성인 얼굴의 나이 속성이 지각적 얼굴 공간 상에 서 대조적인 방향으로 부호화된다는 것을 확인하였으나, 여러 아기도식 속성들이 공통된 처리를 통해 나이 표상에 기여한다는 증거를 확인하지는 못하였다.

        Microalgae are a group of photosynthetic microorganisms living in the water. They are in the spotlight as biostimulators and biofertilizers in modern renewable and sustainable agriculture system, attributed to characteristics such as photosynthetic, and metabolism of various industrial wastes and to increase production when treating crops. Scenedesmus sp. CHK0059 is also one of the microalgae with these characteristics, and it has been reported to suppress various diseases in crops and promote the health of vegetables. However, the mode of action that has a positive effect on plants is not yet well understood. This study was designed to focus on the modulation in diversity change of plant microbiota community, which was the result of the preliminary study, and to determine the direct changes in microbial members that trigger the diversity change in the Arabidopsis model system. As a result, there was no change in the phenotype of Arabidopsis and the microbiota community structure in the rhizosphere during the treatment period, but two bacteria genera, Brevibacterium and Pseudomonas, dominance in the rhizosphere was positively correlated with the CHK0059 treatments. And the bacteria had a positive network correlative relationship with 24 other bacteria. Our findings suggest that the application of microalgae was correlated with several microbiota members in the rhizosphere and was expected to affect the microbiota community structure modification in long-term treatment.

        Since 2017, the Korea Institute of Nuclear Nonproliferation and Control (KINAC) has been implementing State System of Accounting for and Control of Nuclear Materials (SSAC) training courses for the nuclear Newcomer States. This IAEA SSAC course for Newcomer States aims to provide overall concepts and techniques, particularly on nuclear material accountancy and control systems, and address future challenges with regard to developing new nuclear power plants. Due to the restricted travels and limited in-person access to training and facilities from the COVID-19 pandemic, however, a new software was developed to substitute a technical tour on bulk handling facility (BHF) of the training course, and the course was favorably shifted to online in 2021. This newly built training software allows participants to follow each step of the technical process at a virtual bulk handing facility, and provides a video tour for such conditions where the software is found difficult to operate. Another feature of the development is a security function that prevents access of unauthorized users to the software. The achievement is expected to strengthen the SSAC of Newcomer States and ensure the practical implementation of safeguards from the initial stage of their novel nuclear power program through cooperation with IAEA. This contribution of the Republic of Korea (ROK) as one of the leading countries in the field of nuclear nonproliferation will further extend the partnership between IAEA and ROK and promote cooperation with the Newcomer States.

        As a replacement for activated carbon, biochar was synthesized and used for the adsorptive removal of formaldehyde and nitrogen oxide. Biochar was produced from the fast pyrolysis of the red marine macro alga, Pyropia tenera. The P. tenera char was then activated with steam, ammonia and KOH to alter its characteristics. The adsorption of formaldehyde, which is one of the main indoor air pollutants, onto the seaweed char was performed using 1-ppm formaldehyde and the char was activated using a range of methods. The char activated with both the KOH and ammonia treatments showed the highest adsorptive removal efficiency, followed by KOH-treated char, ammonia-treated char, steam-treated char, and non-activated char. The removal of 1000-ppm NO over untreated char, KOH-treated char, and activated carbon was also tested. While the untreated char exhibited little activity, the KOH-treated char removed 80% of the NO at 50°C, which was an even higher NO removal efficiency than that achieved by activated carbon.
