        본 논문에서는 지진하중을 받는 고층건물의 비탄성거동 특히, 층수에 따라 평면이 비대칭적으로 감소하여 발생하는 비틀림거동에 대하여 고찰하였다. 평면의 구조적 비대칭성에 의하여 발생하는 강성의 비대칭은 건물이 지진하중을 받을 때 횡변위 뿐만아니라 비틀림변형을 유발하게 된다. 이러한 비탄성 비틀림거동의 해석은 2차원모델로는 어려우므로 3차원해석이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 102층의 비정형 초고층건물을 모델로 하여 내진설계규준에 의한 지진하중을 각 층에 가하여 하중의 크기를 증가시켜 정적 탄소성해석을 수행하였는데 비틀림에 의한 영향을 평가하기 위하여 비틀림을 제한한 모델과 그 거동을 비교분석하였다. 해석 결과에 따르면 비대칭건물의 탄소성 거동은 비틀림거동에 의하여 매우 큰 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다.

        질소가스에 대한 헬륨가스의 선택도가 매우 높은 poly(carbobenzoxy-L-lysin)(PCLL)로 제조된 균일막의 투과도를 증가시키기 위해서 디옥산과 DMF의 20% 용액을 이용하여 캐스팅법으로 비대칭 다공성막을 제조하였다. 이 막에 대해서 표면에서의 공극의 수와 공극크기의 분포를 측정하였으며, 표면층의 두께는 주사전자현미경과 투과전자현미경을 이용하여 측정하였다. 평균공극크기와 평균공극밀도는 DMF용액보다 디옥산용액으로 제조한 경우 더 낮은 값을 나타내었으며, 어느 비대칭 다공성막에 있어서 공극의 형성메카니즘으로 설명할 수 있다. 투과계수는 표면층을 통한 점성흐름으로 어느 정도 설명될 수 있으나, 선택도는 점성흐름의 이론과 대치되었다.

        This essay discusses the enhancement of the KMV model to achieve greater accuracy in predicting default risk and mitigating the effects of asymmetric information in the financial market. Due to the existence of the problem of asymmetric information persists, with some market participants possessing more information than others. This imbalance disrupts the normal market operation, complicates financial regulation, and reduces market stability. Rating agencies have made efforts to disclose and predict default risks to provide more information to the market. Still, traditional models’ prediction accuracy has struggled to meet the market’s evolving demands. To address these challenges, this essay analyzes an improved model, the SIZE-PSO-KMV model. This model builds on the KMV model but introduces a differentiation between large and small firms. By doing so, it refines default risk predictions, thereby alleviating information asymmetry. Enhanced accuracy empowers financial regulators to make more informed decisions and helps prevent future financial crises. The SIZE-PSO-KMV model’s validity is established through rigorous testing, including a comparison with other KMV models and out-of-sample tests. The results demonstrate that this model significantly outperforms traditional KMV models in predicting default risk. Additionally, it adapts to the size of firms, acknowledging that large and small firms face distinct default risk profiles.

        The more liquid the capital market, the more attractive it will be for investors to place their money in the capital market. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that influence stock liquidity of manufacturing sector companies listed on the stock exchange in Indonesia. The independent variables used in this study are forward-looking information disclosure, institutional ownership, foreign ownership, and board activity with information asymmetry as an intervening variable and stock liquidity as the dependent variable. The population of this study is manufacturing sector companies listed on the Indonesian stock exchange (IDX). Samples are selected based on the random sampling method, and the number of samples is calculated based on the Slovin formula. The sample was 59 manufacturers, and data was annual reports (for 2 years) and stock transactions from 2016 to 2017. The results of the study showed that forward-looking information disclosure had a significant effect on information asymmetry. Information asymmetry and foreign ownership have a significant impact on stock liquidity, whereas information asymmetry mediates the relationship between forward-looking disclosures and stock liquidity. Furthermore, the accuracy of information about the certainty of business activity both now and in the future can instill confidence in stakeholders in interacting and cooperating.

        Low inflation and sustainable growth have been the major macroeconomic goals being pursued by every developing country, Vietnam inclusive. The effect of inflation on economic growth has been intensively analyzed by a variety of studies, but the empirical evidence more often than not remains controversial and ambiguous. One common hypothesis of previous studies is that they have assumed that the effect of inflation on growth is symmetric. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the asymmetric effect of inflation and money supply on economic growth using the Nonlinear Autoregressive Distributed Lag approach introduced by Shin, Byungchul, and Greenwood-nimmo (2013) for Vietnam over the period 1990-2017. Empirical results provide evidence that the effects of inflation on economic growth are negative and asymmetric in the long run. The impact of money supply on growth is positive in both the short-run and long-run. Accordingly, the impact of the increase in the inflation rate is bigger than the decreasing in the long-run. This different impact is significant and high inflation will destruct economic activities. As a result, the study provides empirical evidence for the authorities to plan monetary policies and control the rate of inflation to achieve sustainable economic development in the long-run.

        The study aims to investigate the pattern of relationships such as symmetric or asymmetric, between exchange rate and foreign direct investment in Bangladesh by applying Autoregressive Distributed Lagged (ARDL) and nonlinear ARDL. In this study, we employed quarterly data for the period of 1974Q1 to 2016Q4. Data were collected and aggregated from various sources namely, Bangladesh Economic Review published by Ministry of Finance and statistical yearbook published by Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics and an annual report published by Bangladesh Bank. The relationship between exchange rate and FDI inflows attract immense interest in the recent periods, especially for developing countries’ perspective. The results of the study ascertain the long run relationship between FDI, exchange rate, monetary policy, and fiscal policy. Considering the asymmetric assumption, the findings from NARDL confirm the existence of a long-run asymmetric relationship in the empirical equation. In the long run, it is observed that positive change that is the appreciation of exchange rate against USD decrease FDI inflows and negative shocks results in grater inflows of FDI, however, the positive shocks produce higher intensity that negative shocks in Exchange rate. For directional causality, the coefficients of error correction term confirm long-run causality, in particular, bidirectional causality unveiled between FDI and exchange rate.

        The Indonesian government launched a new people's business credit program as part of a package of economic policy and deregulation. The interest rate is set lower than the average of the current loan interest rates, especially when compared with rural bank interest rates. To capture the social spatial aspects, quota sampling is applied to ten areas that divided based on the social culture. Further, the method utilized in this research is logit models, which designed to analyse the determinants of asymmetric information particularly on the rural bank and small micro enterprises. The study was conducted in East Java as the province with the largest number of rural banks in Indonesia. Based on the estimation of asymmetric information model to the respondent of rural banks and small businesses, the result shows that adverse selection can be avoided by strengthening the information about prospective borrowers. Regarding moral hazard, rural banks and small businessmen argued that the imposition of the collateral to the debtor has an important role to avoid moral hazard. Rural bank respondents stated that the KUR program with low-interest rates has affected their business development. The results implied the need of broadening the collaboration schemes between this people’s business credit program and rural banks.

        The purpose of this study is to explore the dynamic properties of causality and asymmetric price transmission in the distributional channel of the tomato market in Korea. Using the wholesale and retail price series of the tomato market, we obtain the following results. First, the price transmission mechanism reveals the causal relationship channeling from the wholesale price to the retail price. Second, we find an asymmetric price transmission from the analysis using the threshold partial adjustment model. The retail price responds strongly when the wholesale price increases. On the other hand, the retail price shows sluggish adjustment when the wholesale price decreases.

        Analysis studies were carried out on asymmetric column to beam connections of steel plate rolled forming steel-PC composite modules. The main variables of analysis are asymmetric column composite or non-composite, thickness of steel plate and reinforcement or not. As a result of the analysis, the strength of the local buckling decreased from the upper flange of the beam. The connections are improved so that the upper flange surface of the beam has both the moment and horizontal shear resistance elements. As a result of the analysis of reinforced connection, the strength and stiffness increased linearly regardless of the column composition and the thickness of the stiffener. The stability of the connection and the possibility of securing the momentum were confirmed. This result is reflected in the experimental plan of the connection.

        우리나라 해안지역에는 많은 섬들이 위치하고 있어 대규모 지진해일이 발생하였을 때 섬과 지진해일의 상호작용으로 예기치 않은 지진해일 피해가 우려된다. 2011년 발생한 동일본 지진해일의 경우 제주도를 비롯한 남해안 섬들에 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구에서는 천수이론에 근거한 수치모형을 이용하여 섬 중앙에 대하여 비대칭으로 입사하는 고립파의 처오름높이에 관하여 연구한다. 연구에서 얻은 결과는 지진해일의 급습에 대비한 방재대책을 수립하는데 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

        In animal development, the mechanisms by which localized factors and organelles in egg cytoplasm were exactly distributed into each daughter cell are essential for formation of various cell types. During ascidian Halocynthia roretzi embryogenesis, ooplasmic mitochondria were mainly segregated into muscle and neural precursor cells. At the 32-cell stage, localized mitochondria in the B6.2 blastomeres were preferentially distributed into the B7.4 muscle precursors compared with the B7.3 mesenchyme/ notochord precursors. When the B6.2 blastomeres were isolated from the early 32-cell stage embryos and then allowed to divide 2 times of cell division, the resultant partial embryos showed symmetric distribution of mitochondria, and the partial embryos were composed of equal size cells. In normal development, cell fates of the B7.3 blastomere were correlated with the unequal cleavage of B6.2 lineage cells that normally occurs in the next two-cell division stages to produce a large B8.5 mesenchyme and a small B8.6 notochord cell. Mitochondria are distributed asymmetrically in both cells. When embryos were treated with FGF receptor inhibitor SU5402 and MEK inhibitor U0126 between the 32-cell and the early 64-cell stages, the resultant embryos showed equal cleavage pattern and symmetric distribution of mitochondria in daughter cells of the B6.2 blastomeres. However, blocking of Nodal and Notch signaling did not affect the cell division pattern and mitochondrial distribution in the B6.2 lineage blastomeres between the 32-cell and 110-cell stages. Therefore, it is likely that FGF/MEK signaling is involved in asymmetric distribution of mitochondria and unequal cleavage of the B6.2 lineage blastomeres in ascidian embryo.

        The purpose of this study is to characterize long-term (1973~2012) changes in intra-seasonal temperature and extreme low temperature events in winter observed at 61 weather stations in the Republic of Korea and their associations with changes in atmospheric circulation patterns around East Asia. Maps of long-term linear trends clearly show that both temperature means and extreme events in Korea have asymmetrically changed between early winter and late winter. In early winter, changes with statistical significance are less observable, while in late winter reductions in low extreme temperature events as well as increases in temperatures, particularly after mid-1980s, are obviously observed across the study region. Comparisons of tropospheric synoptic climatic fields before and after the mid-1980s demonstrate that in early winter of recent decades, active meridional circulation from the Arctic appeared in western Eurasia and Bering sea, while in late winter, zonal circulation around East Asia associated with positive Arctic Oscillation-like patterns prevailed. These results indicate that asymmetric changes between early and late winter temperatures in Korea are associated with intra-seasonally inconsistent atmospheric circulation patterns around East Asia.

        최근 다양한 평면 형태의 건물이 늘어나면서 질량중심과 강성중심이 일치하지 않는 수평 비정형 구조물이 증가하고 있다. 이러한 수평 비정형 구조물은 지진 발생 시 비틀림 변형을 유발하여 예상하지 못한 지진 피해가 발생하므로 수평 비정형 구조물의 거동을 예측하는 것이 중요하다. ASCE/SEI 7-10에서는 수평 비틀림 비정형 구조물에 대해서 추가적인 기준을 적용하여 설계를 수행하도록 요구하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 지진 발생 시 편심의 영향을 평가하기 위하여 높이가 3층인 정형과 비정형 철골 모멘트 골조의 지진응답평가를 수행하였다. 정형구조물은 ASCE/SEI 7-10에 따라 응답스펙트럼해석법을 이용한 내진설계를 수행하였다. 그리고 비정형 구조물은 모멘트골조의 위치를 조정하여 편심을 갖도록 모델링하였다. 대상 구조물의 지진하중에 대한 해석을 수행하기 위하여 FEMA P695에서 사용된 원거리 지진기록 중 3가지 지진 데이터를 선정하여 탄성시간이력해석을 수행하였다. 대상 구조물의 층간변위비를 비교해본 결과, 정형과 비정형 구조물의 층간 변위비는 3층에서는 유사하였지만 1층에서 큰 차이를 보였다. 이를 통해 지진이 발생하였을 때, 편심의 영향이 층마다 다르다는 사실을 알 수 있었다.

        This study aims to examine the dynamics of price changes and trading volume of Kuala Lumpur Options and Financial Futures Exchange (KLOFFE) from 2000 to 2008. With augmented analysis, our results support two hypotheses. First, under information spillover, our findings support noise traders’ hypothesis as the time span for variance of past trading volume to cause variance of current return is found to be asymmetric under bull and bear markets. Second, looking at the dynamic relation between volume and volatility of price changes, our findings support Liquidity-Driven Trade hypothesis as past trading volume and subsequent volatility of return exhibit positive correlation. In terms of investors’ behavior in response to the news, we find that investors are more risk taking in bull market and more risk reverse in bear market. Our study suggests that investors should adjust their strategy in the futures market in a dynamic manner as the time span of new information arrival is not consistent. Also, uninformed investors with information asymmetry should expect noninformational trading from informed investors to establish their desired positions for better liquid position.

        The mechanisms by which embryo exactly distributes mitochondria into the blastomeres during embryogenesis are one of the important issues in developmental biology. Although the mechanisms has been thought to be important for the proper embryonic development, our understanding has remained limited. In the present study, the distribution of mitochondria was examined in embryos of the ascidian, Halocynthia roretzi, by immunohistochemical staining with three-types of the mitochondria-specific antibodies and vital staining of mitochondria with a fluorescent probe, DiOC2(3). Results of the immunohistochemical staining coincided with that of vital staining, which is able to detect the distribution of mitochondria in cytoplasm of the embryo. Mitochondria was mainly segregated into the B4.1 posterior-vegetal blastomeres at the 8-cell stage. During the next stages, mitochondria was preferentially partitioned into cells of the B-line muscle and the A-line nerve cord precursor compared with each sister cell, endoderm in the 5th cleavage stage, and mesenchyme and notochord in the 6th cleavage stage. However, the mitochondria-rich cytoplasm is divided equally among the blastomeres of the animal hemisphere between the 8-cell and the 64-cell stages. When B6.2 blastomeres were isolated at the early 32-cell stage embryo and cultured in seawater, until control embryos reached the 64-cell stage, pattern of mitochondria distribution was similar to results of the coisolated B7.3 and B7.4 blastomeres from the 64-cell stage embryos. Therefore, it is likely that mitochondria are asymmetrically segregated into the marginal cells in the vegetal hemisphere of the ascidian embryo without cell-cell interaction.

        This paper is to argue that Superiority effects and non-Superiority effects in multiple wh-questions follow from the Minimality Condition that the u[F] is (bi-directionally) valued by the closest valued matching feature. This Minimality Condition covers both single Agree and multiple Agree, regardless of whether multiple Agree takes place simultaneously or not. This paper will show that Superiority effects take place only in case there are multiple goals (i.e., WHs) for a single unvalued probe u[F], while no Superiority effects arise in case there is only a single valued probe i[F] for multiple unvalued goals (i.e., WHs). In the former case there is a minimality among WHs while in the latter case there is no minimality among WHs, according to the Minimality Condition.

        본 연구의 목적은 만성 뇌졸중 환자를 위한 상지 움직임의 시간적 협응성에 따른 양측성 협응 운동의 효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 대칭적 움직임(동일 위상)을 포함한 양측성 협응 운동이 비대칭적 양측성 협응 운동 보다 만성 뇌졸중 환자의 상지 운동기능회복에 보다 효과적일 것이다라는 가설을 설정하였다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 중다기초선 단일피험자 연구설계로 총 4명의 만성 뇌졸중 환자들이 각각 2명씩 대칭과 비대칭적 양측성 훈련에 참여하였으며, 운동학적 측면과 기능적 측면에서 훈련의 효과를 살펴보았다. 피험자들은 4회와 8회의 단측성 훈련을 수행하고 대칭과 비대칭 양측성 훈련으로 전환하여 8회와 4회의 훈련을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 대칭적 훈련 집단은 기능적 뻗기 평가에서 비대칭적 훈련 집단보다 최대속도가 증가하고 운동시간이 감소한 것으로 나타났다. JTT 세부과제에 대한평가에서는 훈련집단에 따른 일관성있는 결과를 제시하지 못하였다. 그러나 근위관절과 관련된 JTT 전체시간에서는 대칭적 훈련 집단이 비대칭적 훈련 집단보다 수행시간이 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 통해 대칭적 양측성 운동이 양측성 협응 운동을 구성하는 주요 변인일 가능성을 제시하고 있다.

        In this study, we surveyed the influence of IOA (iodoacetamide) and media upon protoplast fusion for the efficient production of the somatic hybrid among S. sisymbriifolium and other Solanum species (S. intergrifolium and S. toxicarium). Regardless of a breed, as the IOA concentration increases, the cell division tends to decrease. As the influence of the media on the colony formation, we could get 5 colonies from the fusion of S. sisymbriifolium and IOA-treated S. integrifolium protoplast, but none was observed in other fusions. As a result of analyzing their IDH isozyme, we found a somatic hybrid in 2 objects.
