        Risk Based Inspection(RBI) Period was proposed for highway bridges in Korea. Hazard factors affecting bridge condition deterioration were found by analyzing condition data from Highway Bridge Management System(HBMS). Certain level of correlations between those factors and condition deterioration were found. They are used to evaluate hazard score. Summarizing several hazard factors, final hazard is classified as three level;high, moderate, low. Vulnerability is assessed only by the current state of bridge. Then, risk matrix is suggested for inspection periods. Inspection periods of the bridges with grade C, D, and E are maintained the same as before. But, those of grade A and B with moderate and high hazard score are elongated to maximum 6 years while the maximum inspection period is three years at present. By adjusting inspection period according to risk assessment, it was shown that 27% of average inspection manpower can be saved.

        Shin Geo-Je Bridge needs new inspection holes to improve the accessibility for various maintenances. This study evaluated the maximum effective stresses of the bottom flange when the inspection holes is made with an ellipse shape. The FEM analysis results show that the inspection installation is possible to the inflection point of the girder.

        We have carried out the bridge inspections according to the laws not considering the characteristics of damages. Also the current condition based inspection cannot consider the rate of bridge deterioration. But it is reasonable to classify the inspection interval according to the risk of each bridge. This suggests the risk based inspection methodology.

        The main purpose of this study is to develop the advanced structural health monitoring techniques of cable-supported bridges. The research and development about two main topics has been performed as follows: The vision-based cable monitoring technology using cable moving robot and The long-term displacement monitoring technology of bridge structures using Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). Therefore, the 100-m-length cable vibration test facility, was selected as the test bed.

        Flood and scour are one of the major causes of bridge collapse. However, maintenance and inspection techniques still need improvements especially for underwater structures like bridge piers. Conventionally, manual inspection by divers has been carried out for underwater structures of bridges. This has difficulties in gathering accurate and reliable field data under severe environmental conditions. For this reason, underwater inspection is carried out using Side Scan Sonar(SSS) recently. The underwater structure image can be obtained by observing the reflected beam signal from underwater riverbed and surface. Signal and image processing techniques are employed in order to produce a clearer 2D image. Conventional inspection using one Side Scan Sonar is carried out to obtain river bed and underwater structure image. In order to reduce the inspection time, two Side Scan Sonar are used to obtain river bed and underwater structure image simultaneously. Two Side Scan Sonar were used to confirm the usability of the interference effects, which can occur by using the same frequency as the image at the time of collection, through indoor experiment for verification.

        배수통문은 하천제방을 횡단하여 설치된 하천시설로, 연속적으로 시공되어져야 하는 제방의 특성에 반하여 불연속적인 단면을 제공함으로써 하천제방 안전성을 저하시키는 구조물로 알려져 있다. 본 논문에서는 배수통문의 효율적인 점검 체계 구축을 위하여 육안점검표 및 휴대용 단말기를 이용한 육안조사 시스템을 제시하고 향후 개선방향을 제시하였다. 제안된 육안점검표는 적용성 평가결과 간단한 육안점검에 의한 손상 파악을 통해 배수통문의 보수 계획 수립과 보수 및 정밀안전진단에 대한 투자우선순위 선정에 적용성이 높은 것으로 평가되었다.

        The purpose of this paper is to investigate agreement-feature checking and English root infinitives in child language from the perspective of Minimalist Program. To explain this apparent derivation from the target adult gram- mar, researchers have elaborated two main models. One is the Tense Omission Model and the other is the Truncation Model. Wexler (1994) proposes in the former that an optional infinitive clause arises when the child leaves the tense feature underspecified in a given clausal represen- tation. Rizzi (1993/1994) proposes in the latter that the Root Infinitive reduces structures that result from the option of truncating structures at different levels of the clausal architecture. A further expectation would be that nominative Case is not assigned properly if AgrP is not yet projected. In the Minimalist Program, T inherits Agree-feature from C, but root infinitive clauses don`t have TP. Therefore, in children`s speech, functional projections are truncated below CP. The phenomena of early language acquisition reflects the process of acquiring functional categories as children grow.

        In general, a two-dimensional flat form were used to record the structural inspection information. But we performed a study utilizing 3D model to input the information of structure inspection. This study showed that the inspector could enter the inspection information more efficiently by utilizing 3D model.

        Since cable members are the major structural components in cable bridges, they should be properly inspected for surface damage as well as inside defects such as corrosion and/or breakage of wires. In this study, only the vision-based surface damage detection system based on image processing techniques is addressed. The damage detection programs are consist of real-time and post processing detection programs. The proposed damage detection programs were verified through laboratory tests on many types of cables.

        This study presents a technical overview of inspection practices on cable-stayed bridges and suspension bridges in service. Specially, it focuses on special inspections, which are regularly scheduled or unscheduled inspections, contrary to those used in general bridges. Conceptual improvements of special inspections are discussed.
