        본 연구는 한국어를 모국어로 하는 학습자의 인도네시아어 쓰기 자료 를 분석하여 중간언어(interlanguage)에 나타나는 문법, 통사, 어휘 오류 의 유형과 원인을 규명하였다. 연구 대상은 사이버대학교 중급 수준의 학습자 67명이며, 동일 주제로 작성된 작문 과제를 기반으로 오류 분석 을 실시하였다. 오류는 문법적 오류(시제 부사, 전치사, 대명사), 통사적 오류(주어·대명사 오용, 어순, 부정문 구성), 어휘적 오류(철자, 날짜 표 현, 대소문자 표기)로 분류되었다. 오류의 주요 원인은 한국어 구조의 부 정확한 전이, 목표어 규칙의 불완전한 내면화, 음운·표기 습관 등으로 나 타났다. 특히 의미 충돌을 유발하는 시제 부사의 병치, 전치사 누락, 고 유명사의 소문자 표기 등은 중간언어 발달 특성을 반영한다. 분석 결과 는 반복적 피드백, 대조언어적 접근법, 자동화 기반 오류 진단 도구의 활 용 가능성을 시사한다. 본 연구는 온라인 외국어 교육 환경에서 중간언 어 분석이 가지는 이론적·실천적 가치에 주목하며, 향후 교수법 개선 및 학습자 맞춤형 교육 설계에 기여할 수 있다.

        This study investigates the effect of the DDL (Data-Driven Learning) approach on the English sentence writing ability of 6th graders in elementary school. To this end, a total of seven English textbooks were used to build a corpus. Five teachers were then asked to conduct five lessons using a weak version of DDL in their 6-grade EFL classrooms. Students were asked to complete a pre- and post-test and a pre- and post-survey, and a selected number of students and four of the five teachers had in-depth interviews with the researcher. The results are as follows: First, DDL using the textbook corpus was found to be adequate for helping elementary students improve their sentence-writing ability. Second, DDL had a significant effect on upper, middle, and lower level groups of students. Third, the students felt that DDL was neither unfamiliar nor difficult. Fourth, teachers with little teaching experience found it easy to conduct their classes using the DDL approach. This study implies that DDL is an effective approach to teaching communicative functions and language forms in the elementary English classroom and can be useful for all levels of elementary students.

        To check the linguistic features of the interviews from the humidifier disinfectant victims, the research compared the interviews with the modern spoken corpus and analyzed them in respect of vocabulary and grammar. The results are as follows. First, a common point was deduced by the lexical metaphor that the relationship between the informants and their companion animals, the victims of the case, is as close as a family member. The result is very meaningful, in that it is very rare that the materials of the lexical metaphor provide and predict the relationship between humans and companion animals. Second, the actuality of the semi-formal talk was well revealed by the grammatical feature, in terms of many fragmentary sentences and frequent uses of the ‘-haeyo’ style. However, certain types of conclusive endings such as ‘-keodeunyo’, ‘-jyo’, or ‘-jahnayo’, which are used by the speaker's assumption on the state of hearer's knowledge, were frequently used compared to the modern spoken corpus. The features of these conclusive endings assuming hearer's knowledge and ignorance show that the linguistic materials of informants implicate their intent to inform the society of the case and to get recognition from the society.

        This study aims to investigate the effect of DDL on English lexico-grammar learning by Korean middle school students with respect to the types of learning approach (deductive vs. inductive DDL), the student’s level of English (low vs. high level), and the complexity of lexico-grammar items (simple vs. complex). A total of five experimental lessons were given to 36 students divided into two groups: one group received the lessons through the deductive DDL approach and the other group through the inductive DDL approach. The study found that both inductive and deductive DDL were effective in the learning of English lexico-grammar by the Korean middle school students. However, deductive DDL was more effective for the high level students, while inductive DDL was more appropriate for low level students. In addition, both deductive and inductive DDL were effective for teaching simple lexico-grammar items, but deductive DDL was more effective for teaching complex ones. Most of the participants showed positive responses about DDL and expressed a view that they were able to learn the meanings as well as the forms of target lexico-grammar items.

The sociolinguistic Journal of Korean 20(2). pp. 185-211. In sociolinguistic research, it has been found that linguistic phenomena are influenced more by extralinguistic factors than intralinguistic ones. In particular, issues such as language policy, language contact, langage extinction and language variation are strongly affected by geographical characteristics of the region where a language is being used and taught. In order to analyze linguistic phenomena and geographical characteristics synthetically, we introduce linguistic typological methods using Geographic Information System (GIS), an automated system for the capture, storage, retrieval, analysis and display of spacial data. Using GIS, we present some maps of the geographical distribution of foreigners living in Korea and the educational institutions of Korean language for foreigners in order to discuss the regional conditions for Korean language education in these areas. We also examine married immigrant women's accessibility to multi-cultural support centers with GIS.

        최근 국내에 유입하는 이민자들이 급속도로 증가하면서 국가는 잠재적인 시민을 선별하고자 이들에게 언어시험을 요구하고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 다문화․다 언어 분야에서 제2언어 평가나 특정 목적을 위한 한국어 평가에 관한 연구물은 많이 축적되지 않은 편이다. 본 연구의 목적은 국내에서 시행되는 귀화시험이 이주자의 한국어 능숙도, 사회 적응능력, 혹은 사회문화적 지식을 평가하기 위한 중립적인 도구로 사용되고 있는지, 아니면 사회정치적 문지기의 역할이 더 강조되고 있는지 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 관련 대중매체, 정책 문서자료 등을 기반으로 이민귀화적격시험(KINAT)의 목적, 내용과 과정을 분석하고, 시험 수행에 대한 수험자들의 태도를 살펴보았다. 그 결과 귀화시험은 한국 공동체에 참여하기 위해 요구되는 언어적, 사회문화적 지식을 평가하기 보다는 사회통합과 안녕이라는 미명 하에 적격한 이민자를 선별해 내기 위한 목적으로 사용되고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구 결과를 토대로 향후 귀화시험의 운용과 개발에 대한 시사점을 제시하였다.
