        In this study, we addressed the prevention of fire extinguishing device malfunction caused by noise in the fire detector of automatic fire extinguishing devices applied to mobile equipment such as armored vehicles and tanks. The automatic fire extinguishing system consists of a fire detection unit, an automatic control unit, and a fire suppression unit. In the case of a fire detector, it is a major component of the fire detection unit. Even though no fire occurred during operation in the field, a number of fire extinguisher sprays occurred, and the malfunction of the fire detector, which is a fire detection unit, was reproduced. The cause was identified as noise in the fire detector connector due to vibration and shock that may occur during operation of the mobility equipment. In order to solve this problem, noise generated momentarily from a fire detector is treated as an exception, and when a fire signal is transmitted from the fire detector to the automatic control unit for more than a certain period of time, Software has been improved to enable fire extinguishers to operate. This study analyzed the causes of malfunctions in automatic fire extinguishing devices, which are components of mobile equipment, and derived improvement measures to improve the reliability of automatic fire extinguishing devices.

        This study developed a scenario to understand the reaction rate and operational time according to RTI value of rate of rise detector in each type in case of fire mattress. In the results of analyzing the reaction rate and operational time of detector in each scenario, in case when installing a single detector, the elevated temperature per minute was raised to 8℃/min ~ 9℃/min. In case when installing two detectors, it was raised to 9℃/min ~ 10℃/min. In case when installing three detectors, it was raised to 10℃/min. The horizontal distance between detector and mattress was 1.8m~2.5m. Whenever the number of detectors was increased, the horizontal distance was decreased. The operational time of detector was within maximum 540 seconds and minimum 420 seconds. As the research tasks in the future, there should be the researches on the effects of reaction rate of detector on the evacuation in case of fire through the result value of RSET by setting up the latency until the detector operates, and the researches on the safety by understanding if the operational time of detector is suitable for the evaluation standard of performancecentered design.

        In this paper which was performed to bring public attention to the need for developing an photoelectric smoke detector that detects smokes emitted from diverse fire sources, it was confirmed that the photoelectric smoke detector may not respond to certain smoke types depending on the size and color of smoke particles. The test was performed on a photoelectric smoke detector which is being used generally for specific fire targets specified in UL268, including paper fire, wood fire and flammable liquid fire, while the actual response performance of the fire detector, as well as respective smoke particles collected from different fire source which were photographed with a SEM(Scanning electron microscope) were analyzed in the test for this study.

        Fire detectors are designed to minimize loss of life from a fire alarm system as an alarm to help evacuate more quickly until the completion of the evacuation alarm should be continued. the purpose of such alarms in order to achieve the characteristic fire heat release rate reaches a certain level, or when a certain time has elapsed, when the heat detector is to be alarms to answer.         화재가 발생하면 열과 연기생성물이 발생하는데 화재로부터 발생되는 온도변화는 일반적인 대기 온도의 변화와 상당한 차이가 있기 때문에 이 온도변화를 감지하여 조기에 화재발생을 포착할 수 있다. 또한 연기가 발생하면 시계(視界)가 줄어드는 것을 감지할 수 있다. 화재를 좀더 정확하게 감지하려면 화재에 의한 화재징후는 기기로 측정할 수 있을 만큼 주위 환경을 변화시키고 이 변화값은 그 환경의 평상시 변수보다 커야 한다. 화재감지기는 화재로부터 발생하는 화재징후인 열, 연기 등을 감지하여 화재발생을 조기에 관계자에게 경보하는 기기이다[1-3]. 실제 환경에서는 화재가 아닌 경우에도 화재감지기의 고정된 수치 이상 발생할 수 있고, 화재가 발생했어도 고정된 수치 이하로 열, 연기 등이 발생할 수 있다. 이와 같은 화재감지기의 완벽하지 못한 신뢰성 때문에 경종, 사이렌 등 경보장치의 소음으로 인하여 사람들이 불편을 겪는 경우가 있고, 심지어 화재감지기의 전원을 OFF시키는 경우도 있어 실제 화재가 발생하였을 때 화재로 인한 대참사를 야기시킬 수도 있다. 본 연구는 가연물 종류에 따른 화재감지기의 응답특성을 분석한 연구로 다양한 가연물을 연소시킨 다음 화재감지기의 설치위치 등에 따라 감도특성이 어떻게 변화하는 가를 확인하였다. 가연물 종류는 열이 주로 발생하는 알코올, 연기가 주로 발생하는 면심지와 열과 연기가 다량으로 발생하는 N-heptane을 사용하였고 화재감지기 설치위치는 벽체와 천장으로부터 이격된 거리에 따라 실험을 수행하였다. 그 결과 벽 또는 천장에서 이격거리가 클수록 감도특성이 저하되는 것을 확인하였다.
