        This study developed the pressure measurement monitoring system named VIP-2000 for monitoring a pressure of ullage space in cargo tank. VIP-2000 is designed in compliance with IMO(international maritime organization) SOLAS 74, Chap. II-2 Req. 59. IMO is providing the establishment of a pressure measurement equipment for secure the stability from vacuum or the overpressure that caused by in breakdown of the P/V valve. VIP-2000 operates the early warning of the visible and audibility in dangerous situation of cargo tank. In order to evaluate the performance of VIP-2000, the pressure measurement experiments have been conducted.

        A valve open/close degree measuring device is used for an indicator of a valve actuator. This device indicates an opening and closing of a valve or throttle in a hydraulic actuator. In ship, equipments requires safe and robust because of a rough environment and a specific condition during a voyage. Thus, the open/close degree measuring device must be developed which can be used at an outdoor environment. This study developed the open/close degree measuring device using a volumetric measuring method(25㎖/100㎖). The housing of the open/close degree measuring device was made by a stainless steel with surface painting after an anodizing coating.

        When a radiation detector is applied to the measurement of the radioactivity of high-level of radioactive materials or the rapid response to the nuclear accident, several collimators with the different inner radii should be prepared according to the level of dose rate. This makes the in-situ measurement impractical, because of the heavy weight of the collimator. In this study, an IRIS collimator was developed so as to have a function of controlling the inner radius, with the same method used in optical camera, to vary the attenuation ratio of radiation. The shutter was made to have the double tungsten layers with different phase angles to prevent the radiation from penetrating owing to the mechanical tolerance. The performance evaluation through the MCNP code was conducted by calculating the attenuation ratio according to the inner radius of the collimator. The attenuation ratio was marked on the outer scale ring of the collimator. It is expected that when a radiation detector with the IRIS collimator is used for the in-situ measurement, it can change the attenuation ratio of the incident photon to the detector without replacing the collimator.

        Asphalt overlay on top of concrete pavement is commonly used in Korea. But water and deicing chemical can penetrate asphalt layer and stay at the boundary of asphalt and concrete layer, which cause accelerated degradation of concrete. Theoretically asphalt mixture is impermeable, but water can penetrate where improper compaction applied area or boundary area. Accordingly, optimum asphalt contents in existing mix design were modified in order to increase impermeability and test road was constructed with the modified method. The testing field site was monitored for 17 months and the performance of the test road was similar to the road used conventional mix design, although modified mix design used for the test road has 30% less air void. Thus, reduced pavement deterioration is expected on the concrete pavement rehabilitation with asphalt overlay

        In this paper, developing of a pool cleaning robot is addressed. First, we analyze commercial pool cleaning robot mechanisms, and the merits and demerits of wireless version of a pool cleaning robot is introduced. And then the water-jet moving mechanism for a pool cleaning robot is proposed to improve energy efficiency and mechanical design advantage, which is one of the strong candidates for wireless pool cleaning robots. Next, the method of cleaning performance evaluation of pool cleaning robots is firstly defined with five key factors, and it was verified by experimental results. If the cleaning performance can be quantitatively defined, we can design optimally a pool cleaning robot, which results in the cost down.

        최근 정보화는 사회전반에 걸쳐 핵심 전략수단이 되었으며, 항만에 있어서도 정보화 및 정보기술의 중요성은 예외 없이 강조되고 있다. 그러나, 이러한 항만 정보화의 중요성에도 불구하고 이에 대한 기반연구가 부족하고, 게다가 항만의 정보화 수준을 제대로 측정할 수 있는 기준과 그 수준을 분석한 연구는 거의 없는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 점에 주목하여 항만의 정보화 수준을 파악하기 위한 기준을 수립하고, 정보화 수준 평가지수를 개발하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 한다. 그리고, 수립된 지수모델을 바탕으로 그 적용가능성을 가늠해보고자 한다.
