        The role of container shipping is proven to be crucial for in moving goods across oceans and seas to satisfy human demand around the world. Recently, the emergence of unexpected events such as the Covid-19 pandemic or the blockage of the Suez Canal has brought a variety of challenges to global economic activities, and container shipping is no exception. Therefore, this paper aims to discover the difficulties faced by shippers when sea transport is chosen as a method to deliver their containers in the new context. The study is conducted in the north of Vietnam and involves interviewing specialists and experienced export managers to identify the possible risks associated with container shipping. Then, a survey is conducted among those in the shipping industry, including manufacturers, freight forwarders, and trading companies, among others. Answers are ranked on a Likert scale and a probability and impact matrix is applied, facilitating the evaluation of container shipping risks. As a result, this study is expected to bring a deeper understanding of the risks faced by shippers when they export their containers, with possible solutions also presented. Meanwhile, shipping service providers are aware of their customers’ experiences and for this reason can improve their service quality or develop new services to enhance customer satisfaction.

        1. 열대아시아지역에 적응하는 수출용 일대잡종 벼 품종을 육성할 목적으로 2013년에 미얀마에서 수집한 도열병과 흰잎 마름병에 저항성인 ‘MY1B’를 국제미작연구소(IRRI)에서 육성 된 일대잡종 벼 웅성불임친인 ’IR68897A’에 4회 여교배하여 2016년에 불임친인 ‘KR1A’와 유지친인 ‘KR1B’를 육성하였으며 육성된 불임친 ‘KR1A’를 회복친유전자를 가진 우량계통들과 검정교배한 결과 베트남 지역 적응성이 높고 도정특성이 우수한 OM052와 교배한 조합이 우수하여 교배번호 KR0695H을 부여한 후 생산력 검정에 필요한 F1종자를 생산하였고 선발된 일대잡종 벼 계통에 대해 2년간의 지역적응시 험을 통해 우수성이 인정되어 2019년 농촌진흥청 직무육성 신 품종선정위원회에서 신품종으로 선정되면서 ‘KGHR1’으로 명명되었음 2. ‘KGHR1’의 F1 종자생산을 위해 육성된 불임친과 유지친, 회복친의 농업형질을 조사한 결과 불임친인 ‘KR1A’의 임실율이 0%인 완전불임을 보였고 불임친인 ‘KR1A’과 유지친인 ‘KR1B’을 1% potassium iodide-iodine(I-KI)에 염색해 본 결과 ‘KR1A’는 염색이 되지 않은 완전불임을 나타내어 일대잡종벼의 특성에 부합되었음 3. ‘KGHR1’는 중부평야지 보통기 재배에서 평균 출수기가 8월 13일로 대비품종 ‘다산’보다 5일 늦은 중생종이었고 간장은 103 cm로 다산의 82 cm보다 21 cm 큰 장간이고, 이삭길이는 28 cm로 ‘다산’ 보다 길고 이삭당 벼알수는 202개로 ‘다산’ 보다 69개 많았고 등숙비율은 76.3%로 대비품종 ‘다산’ 83.7% 보다 낮게 조사되었음 4. ‘KGHR1’는 도열병과 줄무늬잎마름병에 저항성이었고 흰 잎마름병은 K1, K2, K3 균계에 저항성을 보였지만, 오갈병 및 멸구류에 대한 저항성은 없었으며 도복에는 강하며, 수발 아와 내냉성은 ‘다산’과 비슷한 수준을 보였음 5. ‘KGHR1’의 입형은 현미장폭비가 3.37로 장원립이고 백미외관은 심복백이 0/1로 맑고 투명하였으며 단백질함량은 6.3%로 ‘다산’ 보다 낮은 반면 아밀로스함량은 22.7%로 ‘다산’ 보다 높았음 6. ‘KGHR1’의 제현율과 현백률은 대비품종 ‘다산’과 차이가 없었고 완전미도정수율은 40.5%로 ‘다산’ 보다 낮았으나 베트남 현지 일대잡종 벼 품종인 IIA838 보다 높았음 7. ‘KGHR1’의 쌀수량은 ‘수원’ 등 3개 지역에서 실시한 지역적응시험 보통기 보비재배 평균 6.60 MT/ha로 ‘다산’의 6.59 MT/ha와 차이가 없는 수량성을 보였고 수원에서 3년간 실시한 생산력 검정에서는 ‘다산’ 보다 23% 증수하였으며 특히 2019년에 7.59 MT/ha로 베트남 대조품종인 IIA838 보다 도 11% 증수하였으나 베트남 하이하우에서 2018년에서 2019 년까지 2년간 2작기씩 현지 관행재배로 4회 실시한 생산력검 정시험에서는 8.25 MT/ha로 대조품종인 IIA838 보다 12% 떨어지는 수량을 나타내었음 8. ‘KGHR1’는 국내 종자산업 육성과 수출경쟁력을 높이기 위해 2014년부터 수행한 골든시드프로젝트(Golden Seed Project, GSP)의 결과로 개발된 첫 번째 일대잡종 벼 품종으로 우리나라 벼 종자수출산업의 발전을 위한 밑거름이 될 것임

        북베트남의 컨테이너 터미널을 주제로 한 연구는 다수 있지만, 선박의 대기시간이나 화물처리에 관련한 비용 측면에서의 경쟁을 다룬 연구는 거의 없다. 이 논문은 북 베트남에 입지한 컨테이너 터미널의 TEU당 평균대기비용을 추산해 본 연구다. 우선 대기 행렬이론을 적용하여 평균대기시간을 추산한 뒤, 불확실성 이론을 적용하여 선박의 일당 비용을 추산할 것이다. 그리고 각 터미널의 하역능력 내지 물동량 처리율과 관련하여 TEU당 일련의 대기시간을 산정하기 위해 시뮬레이션을 실시하였다. 추산된 일련의 대기시간을 근거로 하여 각 항만의 평균대기시간과 물동량 처리율 / 하역률 간의 관계를 제시하기 위한 함수를 추정하기 위해 비선형회귀법을 적용하였다. 연구 결과는 북베트남의 컨테이너 터미널간의 경쟁상황에 관한 후속 연구에서 게임이론을 적용하는 데 이용될 수 있을 것 이다.

        The tribe Archipini occurring mainly in the Holarctic, Afrotropical and Oriental Regions; scarcely represented in the Neotropical with more than 500 described species of 150 genera (Razowski, 2003). The tribe Archipini in Vietnam was studied by several authors. Kuznetsov (1992) described two new species, Homona superbana and Neocalyptis sodaliana, besides 28 known species were recorded, and he (1997) also recorded four species, Homona encausta (Meyrick), Neocalypis tricensa (Meyrick), Meridemis furtiva Diakonoff and Lumaria probolias (Meyrick). In a study on Tortricidae fauna from Vietnam (2000), 43 of 208 Tortricidae species belong to the tribe Archipini were annotated. Based on the collection of the Berlin Museum, Razowski (2008a) reported seven known species and described 13 new species belong to four genera, Gnorismoneura Issiki & Stringer, 1932, Terthreutis Meyrick, 1912, Synochoneura Obraztsov, 1955, and Terricula Falkovitsh, 1965, he also reported ten known species and described five new species belong to three genera, Choristoneura Lederer, 1859, Homona Walker, 1863 and Meridemis Diakonoff, 1976 (2008b). In the year of 2009, he described one new genus, Chirapsina Razowski, 15 new species, besides 37 known species were recorded (2009a), he (2009b) also described five new species and four known species from Vietnam. In the present study, we focused on Archipini fauna in the northern part of Vietnam, a total of 19 species belong to 13 genera are recorded. Among them, five species Adoxophyes tetraphracta Meyrick, Meridemis bathymorpha Diakonoff, Pademis corylana Fabricius, Terthreutis bulligera Meyrick, and Ulodemis hyalura Diakonoff are recorded for the first time.

        Sorolopha Lower, 1901 is one of the largest genera belongs to the tribe Olethreutini in the subfamily Olethreutinae Obraztsov, 1946. This genus is distributed throughout the world, including 64 described species (Brown 2005; Horak 2006). Among them, 60 species are distributed mainly in the Oriental Region. Besides, the genus was also recorded from Australian Region (6 species) and Palaearctic Region (2 species). Characteristics of genus Sorolopha are very close to those of Eudemis (Diakonoff 1973). Sorolopha species in Vietnam have been reviewed by Kuznetzov (1988, 2000 & 2003) and Razowski (2009). In 1998, Kuznetzov recorded one new species, S. ghilarovi Kuznetzov in a study on Lepidoptera fauna from the Northern part of Vietnam, and he (2000) also recorded 9 species from the country based on the collection of Zoological Institute, St. Petersburg. Moreover, a new species S. asymmetrana Kuznetzov was described in 2003. Most recently, Razowski (2009) reported 4 known species such as, S. herbifera (Meyrick, 1909); S. sphaerocopa (Meyrick, 1930); S. satoi Kawabe, 1989; S. chiangmaiensis Kawabe, 1989. He also described two species as new to science, S. brunnorbis Razowski and S. dorsichlora Razowski from the collection of the Berlin museum. In this study, a total of 10 species have hitherto been recorded from the Northern part of Vietnam including one new species, S. cucphuongensis sp. nov.. The new species is very similar to S. phyllochlora Meyrick but it can be separated by different characters of wing pattern and socius of male genitalia. The materials for identification are based on the collection of University of Incheon.

        Tortricinae is the one of three subfamilies (Tortricinae, Olethreutinae and Chlidanotinae) in the Tortricidae and widely distributed around the world. It has been divided into 11 tribes (Horak and brown, 1991). The subfamily can be distinguished from other subfamilies by the two rings of scale on each antenna segment, and the caulis articulated with the juxta by a short membrane. A total of 1010 named species are presenting in Palaearctic region (Razowski, 2008) including 382 species of six tribes are distributed in Europe (Razowski, 2003), more than 260 species were recorded from South East Asia (Robinson, Tuck and Shaffer, 1994). The fauna of Tortricinae in Vietnam is poorly known even some expeditions were previously done by some foreign entomologist. For Vietnamese entomologist, the first investigation on insect pest of agricultural crops was done by National Institute of Plant Protection (NIPP) in the period 1977-1978 and 1997-1998 with only seven Tortricidae species were recorded. In the year, 2000 Kuznetzov annotated a list of 208 tortricid species from Vietnam. Recently, more than 80 species of 31 genera belong to Tortricinae are announced from 2008 to 2009 by Razowski. Of them, 33 species were described as new to science from Vietnam. At present, the tortricid fauna of Vietnam is estimated approximately 315 species (Svetlana V. Nedoshivina, 2010). In this study we briefly reviewed of subfamily Tortricinae in Northern part of Vietnam. Totally, 28 species of 13 genera are recognized, but only 9 species were previously recorded. Besides, Some unidentified species are waiting for further study. The materials for identification are based on the collection of University of Incheon, which were collected from 2004-2010 in the Northern part of Vietnam by Vietnamese and Korean entomologist.

        베트남 북부 네안성 뀌홉지역에서 희토류 원소의 광화작용과 관련된 이상대 확인을 위해 토양 지구화학탐사를 수행하였다. 시료채취 간격은 가로 250 m 13 line (총 4.2 km), 세로 300 m 25 line (총 7.5 km)으로 총 325개의 시료가 채취되었다. 또한, 토양지구화학탐사 결과를 바탕으로 총 희토류 (Total rare-earth oxides, TREO) 함량이 높은 8개 격자점을 대상으로 피트탐사를 수행하여 73개의 토양시료를 채취하였다. 조사지역은 반찌응(Ban Chieng) 흑운모 화강암 복합체가 편암, 편마암, 석회암으로 구성된 부캉(Bu Kang)층을 관입하고 있다. 본 지역의 주요 광화작용은 주석, 루비, 그리고 화강암 복합체의 주변부 변질대에 분포하고 있는 것으로 사료되는 함희토류 모나자이트(Monazite)와 제노타임(Xenotime)의 산출이 특징적이다. 채취한 토양시료의 ICP-MS 분석 결과, 총 희토류 평균 함량은 지각의 총 희토류 함량(248 ppm)보다 평균 약 1.4배 높게 나타났다. 한편, 경희토류의 평균 함량은 44.6 ppm으로서 지각 평균(200 ppm)보다 결핍되어 있고, 중희토류는 평균 함량(44 ppm)이 지각평균(26 ppm)의 약 1.5배 부화되어있다. 피트탐사에서 채취한 토양시료에 대한 희토류원소의 화학성분 분석 결과, 6개의 피트에서 총 희토류 함량(TREO)이 1,000 ppm 이상의 값이 확인되었다. 이는 뀌차우(Quy Chau)지역의 탐사 및 분석 결과와 비교해보면, 북동-남서 방향으로 희토류 이상대가 발달하고 있는 것으로 사료된다.

        베트남 북부 산악지형에 거주하는 소수 부족민들의 생계개선이 베트남 정부의 정책적인 지원 사업에도 불구하고 현 재까지 뚜렷한 성과를 내지 못하는 것으로 알려져 왔다. 특히 지속가능한 개발 및 인적자원개발을 목표로 하고 있는 베트남 경제사회개발정책(2011~2020)의 하위전략인 신농촌 개발정책(New Rural Development)에 의한 사업들이 적절히 수행되고 있는지 의문이 대두되었다. 한편, 베트남 라오까이성 행복프로그램은 한국 코이카 재원으로 새마을운동 경험과 정신을 바탕으로 설계되었으며 심각한 빈곤상태에 있는 성내 8개 소수부족민 마을에 마을특성과 주민 의견이 반영된 개발계획을 수립하고 계획실행의 주체인 마을주민들과 현장 공무원에게 다양한 훈련 사업들을 제공하였다. 본 연구는 생계개선에 대한 이론 고찰 과 함께 한국 및 베트남의 농촌개발 경험사례 분석을 바탕으로 프로그램의 다양한 역량강화 사업들이 8개 소수부족 주민들 의 의식변화와 생계자산 향상에 어떠한 영향을 끼쳤는지 알아보았다. 본 연구결과는 프로그램에서 제공한 다양한 역량강화 훈 련들이 주민의식의 긍정적인 변화와 소수 부족민들의 생계자산에 대하여 상당한 만족도를 가져왔는바, 신농촌 개발정책은 직접자재 위주의 지원을 줄이는 대신 주민들의 자신감 고취를 위한 주민의식 교육과 주민들의 생계활동 능력향상을 위한 다양한 훈련 사업을 확대해야 함을 보여준다.

        Vietnam is one of Asia’s fastest developing economies. A long coastline of nearly 3,500 km provides a comparative advantage for Vietnam in developing a seaport system. Despite accounting for only about 30% of Vietnam’s traffic volume, the Northern seaports have rapidly developed over the years. However, the location of the container terminals close to the common hinterland are a cause of fierce competition among container terminals. To outperform rivals and improve competitiveness, it is essential to identify the competitive positions of container terminals. This study analyzes the competitive positioning of container terminals in the northern region of Vietnam between 2005 and 2014 by applying the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) matrix in order to assist terminal operators and policy makers to generate strategic planning as well as to improve priorities for development. Otherwise, the period from 2005-2014 aims to clarify the static and dynamic positioning of container terminals. The results demonstrate that the Hai Phong terminal dominates the market, but the Nam Hai Dinh Vu and Dinh Vu terminals are considered as “star” performers. Quang Ninh, Doan Xa, and Transvina are losing their competitive positions in Northern Vietnam.

        The sea-port in Northern Vietnam accounts for around one third of the total country’s cargo throughput and for many decades has been playing an important role in the logistics system of the country. 11 container terminals currently operate in Northern Vietnam, concentrating in Haiphong city and Quang Ninh province. Despite the increasing demand, the competition among these container terminals has become increasingly more critical. In recent years, massive investments from both government and operators have been made to improve the capability of the local sea-port’s logistics infrastructure. This critically needed comprehensive research evaluates the impact of the current logistics infrastructure condition on the competitiveness of terminals and quantitatively compares the competencies of these terminals. In order to meet such requirements, the paper first summarizes the indicators of the logistics infrastructures of the sea ports before developing and testing hypotheses to reveal the correlation between the given factors and the annual throughput of container terminals in the region. Factor analysis will then be applied to score the logistics infrastructure competency of each container terminal. A significant gap between logistics infrastructures among all container terminals was not observed and the competitiveness between container terminals is mostly driven by traditional activities including cargo handling and storage. According to the results, strategic thinking will be needed to contribute to related organizations for better decisions in investment, management, and operation.

        Vietnam’s sea-port industry has experienced a significant development in recent years. Especially in Northern Vietnam, both the demand and supply of handling services for containerized cargoes have increased at a considerable rates. Accompany with such movement, the competition among container terminals in the area becomes fiercer. In this paper, Hierarchical Cluster Analysis is employed to classify all 11 container terminals in Northern Vietnam by collecting data concerning terminal competitiveness. After the classification, each group will be discussed in order to reveal more details about their competitive characteristics. The paper consists of five sections. Section 1 is the general introduction. Section 2 provides a general literature review about competitiveness and factors to evaluate competitiveness. Section 3 explains variables and methodology applied to do the analysis. Section 4 presents the results with linkage to the current condition. Section 5 summarizes the analysis results. It is shown that container terminals in Northern Vietnam should not only pay attention to their service qualities but also have to find out an appropriate mechanism to avoid unhealthy competition. The paper is expected to contribute a background for further researches in container terminals’ competition in the region as well as hints for operators in planning and making decisions.

        Sea-ports in Northern Vietnam have experienced a rapid growth of container throughput in recent years. To accompany with such development, huge investment also has been performed to enhance not only local port capacity but also the regional logistics system. Container terminals in Northern Vietnam locate centrally along Cam river of Haiphong city, leaving 2 others in Quang Ninh province. Five out of totally 11 container terminals in the area are under the control of Vinalines - a national corporation in field of maritime industry. In this paper, those terminals are classified in terms of location and ownership. The volume of container throughput and facilities of all container terminals in Northern Vietnam from 2005 to 2014 are recorded in order to compare the performance of groups. A Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is then applied to evaluate the relative efficiency of such terminals. Before conclusion, number of suggestions will be contributed to related parties.
