Abstract In this study, micro-defects on/in carbon fibers were modified by irradiation with an electron beam, which improved the mechanical strength of single carbon fibers. The electron beam irradiation was 10 kGy (using a 1.5 MeV accelerator in the air). The total doses ranged from 100 to 500 kGy. The tensile strength of the single carbon fiber was measured using a universal testing machine. The micro-defects on the fiber surface were observed with scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy, and those in the fiber were evaluated by Raman spectroscopy. In conclusion, the electron beam treatment produced changes in the micro-defects on/in the carbon fibers, resulting in up to 14% improvement in the tensile strength of single carbon fiber.
Post-slaughtering storage of pork meat is important to improve the flavor and texture profile. Although irradiation of meat improves the keeping qualities of red meat, less work was done on the effect of quality in irradiated pork leg meat during post-slaughtering storage. Therefore, this study was done to compare low dosages of single beam irradiation treated pork leg meat on eating quality parameters over the nontreated meat stored at different storage temperatures. Freshly slaughter pig carcasses were brought to the irradiation unit for treatment. Pork leg meat was treated at 2 kGy with single beam. Treated (2 kGy) and non-treated pork leg meat were kept in three different temperatures as 2, 10 and 25°C for 1, 3 and 5 days and analyzed for cooking loss, shear force, color and nitrogenous flavor compounds. Cooking loss in day 5 in irradiated pork leg (30.29) was significantly lower than the control (33.27) (p<0.05). Shear force of treated (1.93) and non-treated (1.29) pork leg meat after day 5 had significant difference (p<0.05). “L*” and “b*” values of pork leg meat had significant difference at day 5 compared non treated leg meat (p<0.05) whereas the “a*” value was increased with storage time and temperature. Hypoxanthine level was significantly lower in pork leg meat at day 5 in treated (16.07) and non-treated (24.59) meats at 25°C (p<0.05) whereas the changes in AMP, IMP and Inosine was not significantly difference (p>0.05). As conclusion, post-slaughtering storage and irradiation with single beam of 2 kGy could ensure the meat quality of leg pork at even higher storage temperatures, with cooking loss, tenderness, flavor and the color which will be benefited in the processing industry.
In this study, the design of anchorage zone for unbonded post-tensioned concrete beam with single tendons of ultimate strength 2400MPa was evaluated to verify that the KDS 14 20 60(2016) and KHBDC 2010 codes are applicable. The experimental results showed that the bursting force equation of current design codes underestimated bursting stress measured by test, because the KDS 14 20 60(2016) and KHBDC 2010 propose the location of the maximum bursting force 0.5h which is the half of the height of member regardless of stress contribution. Although the allowable bearing force calculated by current design codes was not satisfied the prestressing force, the cracks and failure in anchorage zone was not observed due to the strengthening effect of anchorage zone reinforcement.
고체 산화물 연료전지의 전해질로 주로 사용되는 8mol.%Y2O3-ZrO2는 전기 전도성은 우수하나 기계적 특성이 좋지 못하므로, 전기적 특성과 기계적 특성이 동시에 우수한 고체산화물 연료전지의 전해질의 개발이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 두 가지 요구조건을 충족시키기 위해서 수행되어졌다. 단위전지의 공기극 재료인 LSM(La(sub)0.75Sr(sub)0.25MnO3) 기판과 Si wafer를 기판으로 기계적 성질이 우수한 3mol.%의 YSZ(3-YSZ)와 전기 전도성이 우수한 8mol.%의 YSZ(8-YSZ)를 각각 단층 및 다층 박막의 네 가지 형태로 전자빔 코팅에 의해 전해질 막을 제작하였다. 박막층의 분석결과, 결정조직은 증착된 3-YSZ 박막의 정방정 및 일부 단사정 구조, 8-YSZ 박막은 입방정 구조의 결정성이 나타났다. 단층막 보다 다층막이 낮은 내부 응력을 보였으며, 다층막이 기존의 8-YSZ 단층막의 열처리 전, 후와 비슷한 미세 경도 값을 보였다.
단일 이온원을 사용하는 이온빔 스퍼터링법을 이용하여 Mn-Zn페라이트 박막을 증착하였다. 기판은 1000Å의 산화막이 입혀진 실리콘 웨이퍼를 사용하고 타깃은 (110)Mn-Zn 페라이트 단결정위에 Fe 금속선을 부착한 모자이크 타깃을 사용하엿다. 산소의 유입없이 성장된 박막은 금속선으로부터 스퍼터링된 금속이온들에 의해 상대적인 산소결핍을 나타내어 Wustite 구조를 가졌으며, 이를 해결하기 위해 기판주위로 산소를 유입시켜 증착시킨 결과(111) 우선배향성을 가지는 스피넬 페라이트 상의 박막을 얻을 수 있었다.박막의 성장속도는 이온빔 인출전압, 이온빔 입사각이 증가할수록 감소하였고, 기판과 타깃과의 거리가 멀어질수록 감소하였다. 낮은 이온빔 인출전압에서는 인출전압의 증가에 따라서 박막의 결정화가 향상되었지만, 매우 높은 인출전압에서는 이차이온의 에너지가 너무 높아 박막에 손상을 가하게 되므로 인출전압이 증가할수록 박막의 결정화는 오히려 저하되었다. 스피넬 구조를 가지는 페라이트 박막들은 페리자성을 나타내었으며 박막면에 평행한 방향으로 자화용이축을 가졌다.
