        A series of tests was conducted for full-scale single-pylon asymmetric cable-stayed bridges using a system of multiple shaking tables. The 2-span bridge length was 28 m, and the pylon height was 10.2 m. 4 different base conditions were considered: the fixed condition, RB (rubber bearings), LRB (lead rubber bearings), and HDRB (high damping rubber bearings). Based on investigation of the seismic response, the accelerations and displacements in the axial direction of the isolated bridge were increased compared to non-isolated case. However, the strain of the pylon was decreased, because the major mode of the structure was changed to translation for the axial direction due to the dynamic mass. The response of the cable bridge could differ from the desired response according to the locations and characteristics of the seismic isolator. Therefore, caution is required in the design and prediction in regard to the location and behavior of the seismic isolator.

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the causes of corrosion of steel plate deck longitudinal U-ribs and to investigate the reinforcement method. It was confirmed that the corrosion of the longitudinal U-ribs occurred due to penetration water of the bolt hole of the shear key used in construction. The longitudinal U-ribs which were corroded were stiffened by attaching reinforcing plates, and finishing treatment was performed to prevent the surface water from flowing into the inside.

        This paper evaluated a stress for the girder reinforced by cross rib. As a result, The cross rib reduced the maximum and mnimum stress generated in girder because of evenly distributing the load.

        강바닥판은 콘크리트 바닥판에 비해 강성이 작아 차량의 윤하중에 의해 국부적으로 큰 변형이 발생하여 포장표면에 인장응력을 유발시켜 포장균열 발생의 원인이 된다. 또한, 용접이음부의 포장이 균일한 두께로 포설되지 않거나 강바닥판과 아스팔트 포장 사이의 부착성 부족으로 인해 공용 중 포장손상이 발생한다. 최근 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 강바닥판 교량에 구스 아스팔트와 같은 부착성 및 내구성이 우수한 특수 아스팔트 포장을 실시하는 경우가 늘고 있으나 구스 아스팔트는 일반 아스팔트 보다 약 100℃정도 높은 고온상태에서 포설되기 때문에 강바닥판의 온도가 100℃~130℃ 정도 상승하게 된다. 이와 같은 온도상승은 포장 시공 중 강바닥판의 변형을 유발하고 포장 완료 후에도 강바닥판 교량의 품질에 악영향을 미친다. 이에 본 연구에서는 구스 아스팔트 포장온도가 강바닥판의 열변형에 미치는 영향을 검토하여 강상판 교량의 시공상에 문제점이 되고 있는 포장문제를 해결하고자 하였다. 해석결과, 지점과 교각의 2개의 교량받침과 Shear key가 설치되어 구스아스팔트 포장 시공 도중 문제시 되고 있는 지점의 부반력에 의한 받침의 들림이나 신축이음의 영향, 교축방향 변위의 영향은 모두 허용치 범위 내에 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 보부재에 모델링된 U-리브, 종형 및 횡형의 단부부재에 발생하는 응력은 강바닥판 또는 평판에 발생하는 응력에 비하여 작은 것으로 나타났다.

        The damping ratios of the modes as well as the natural frequencis and the mode shapes are required to characterize the modal behavior of structure. The mode shapes and the natural frequencies are determined from analytical methods or measurements accurately. But there is little analytical basis for estimating the damping ratios although they are the most important to determine the amplitude of the vibration. Especially for the cable-stayed bridges the aerodynamic damping ratios determine the amplitude of the response to wind loads. This paper is an attempt to estimate the aerodynamic damping ratios based on measured data and quasi-static theory.

        This study is to invest safety against the local corrosion of steel pylon in the Dolsan bridge(Cable-stayed type). For the investigation, visual inspection, non-destructive testing using the high resolution camera and ultrasonic thickness gauge with the structural analysis were completed. In the result of the safety check, no problem of steel pylon is detected. Cause of corrosion is damage on steel surface during early stage of the construction.

        In this study, a MFL (Magnetic Flux Leakage) image based 3D inspection system which is incorporated into a cable climbing robot was investigated for Steel Cable NDT of Cable-stayed Bridge and Suspension Bridge. Firstly, a MFL sensor head prototype composed of two permanent magnets and eight hall sensors was designed and fabricated. A steel cable specimen with several types of damage was inflicted and scanned by the MFL sensor head to measure the magnetic flux density of the specimen. The measured MFL signals were used to interpret the healthy condition of the steel cable. For improving the resolution and quantification of the damage level, digital signal processing techniques were performed. Finally, the measured MFL signals were visualized by using 3D imaging method.

        Vortex shedding occurred at relatively low mean wind velocities between 13m/s and 16m/s in the 2nd Jindo grand bridge. To control the vortex shedding Multiple Tuned Mass Damper(MTMD) was installed in the mid span. The control effects of MTMD was verified by assessing the damping ratio before and after installing MTMD. This paper present the evaluation of damping ratio of a cable- stayed bridge based on measuring data through unified remote monitoring system.
