The author examined the response of File fish, Stephanolepis Cirrhifer (TEMMINCK et SCHLEGEL) to the surface attracting lamps(0.5W, 0.8W, 1W) line in the experimental water tank (550L×58W×73H cm). the attracting rate was investigated in accordance with the interval of lighting and putting out hour (1, 5 minute)when each of the attracting lamps was gradually switched off after they were switched on all at once. The results are as follows: 1. Total distribution rate of fish in the illuminated section was 96.9%(mean 19.4%) in case of 1 minute interval, and 98.4%(mean 19.7%) in case of 5 minutes interval. 2. Mean distribution rate of fish at the illuminated section: ① Distribution rate at interval of 1 minute were 19.9% in 0.8W, 19.3% in 1W and 18.9% in 0.5W respectively. ② Distribution rate at interval of 5 minutes were 19.8% in 1W, 19.8% in 0.8W, and 19.5% in 0.5W respectively. 3. Attracting rate of the last section showed increasing as illuminating time elapse without interval and lighting source. 4. Attracting rate of fish in only last section switched on: ① Attracting rate at interval in case of 1 minute were 98.0% in 1W, 97.0% in 0.5W and 83.0% in 0.8W respectively. ② Attracting rate at interval in case of 5 minutes were 99.3% in 1W, 97.3% in 0.5W and 93.3% in 0.8W respectively.

The accuracy of the position fixing with telemetry techniques depends in general on the accuracy of the location of the receiving point(hydrophone). To increase the accuracy of the coordinates of four hydrophones suspended down at both sides of the vessel anchored, each hydrophone motion is compensated using a depth pinger mounted on the seabed of 30m depth. The pinger location is calculated with a hyperbolic method. Using this technique so called hydrophone coordinates calibration, the movement of the Remotely Operated Vehicle(ROV), which has the same type of pinger mentioned above could be tracked down more accurately. Under the maximum variation ranges of a hydrophone of 5.2m in athwartships, 3.2m in alongship, and about 0.2m/s of the moving velocity in both directions, the ROV track with calibration is more close to the reality than that without calibration Tow depth pingers of same frequency can be distinguished by the use of three factors; The pulse period, the phase and the pulse period variation allowed in acquisition of the pinger as far as its pulse period is varied in smooth

In this study, we selected a DC servo motor as an actuator of the marine diesel engine governor and constructed the position control system of the DC servo motor using the algorithm proposed by authors. Next, we proposed an another method to construct an adaptive control system for marine diesel engine by regarding the controlled system including the DC servo motor as a second order controlled system and verified the validity of this method through the real time control responses. Finally, the results have shown a good response characteristic

Among various Power converters, a variable voltage variable frequency (VVVF) three-phase PWM inverter is regarded as most promising power converter due to its capabilities, which permits the control of voltage, frequency and harmonic contents in a single power stage employing only on DC source. As a modulating technique of the PWM inverter, the regular sampling technique has rendered possible the on-line computation and generation of PWM control waveforms with a reasonably high switching frequencies. In this paper, microprocessor based three-phase regular samping PWM inverter with real-time control algorithm and control circuits for driving three phase AC motor has been developed. Harmocic components of PWM waveform were analized theoretically in terms of Bessel function series and then calculated by digital computer and observed with spectrum analyzer

In this paper, the corrosion fatigue crack propagation behavior of structure rolled steel (SWS 41C) was investigated by changing the thickness, and this experiment was done by the three point bending corrosion fatigue tester. The main results obtained are as follows: 1) As the thickness of specimen becomes thicker, the corrosion sensitivity to initial stage crack becomes some sensitive, and that the fatigue life becomes more sensitive. 2) The crack growth rate to initial stage crack (da/dN) was retarded as the thickness of specimen becomes thicker. But after initial stage crack, as the thickness of specimen is more thicker, da/dN is more rapid. 3) As the corrosion fatigue crack length grows, the accelerative factor of thick specimen (t=12mm) is more higher than that of thin specimen (t=6mm). 4) As the corrosion fatigue crack length grows, the corroson potential of both thick specimen and thin specimen becomes more less noble potential, however thick specimen (t=12mm) tends to more less noble potential than that of thin specimen(t=6mm).

The critical strain energy release rate and the failure mechanisms of glass-carbon epoxy resin hybrid composites are investigated in the temperature range of the ambient temperature to 80℃. The direction of laminates and the volume fraction are [(+45, -45, 0, 0) sub(2) ] sub(s), 50%, respectively. The major failure mechanisms of these composites are studied using the scanning electron microscope for the fracture surface. Results are summarized as follows: 1) The critical strain energy release rate shows a maximum at ambient temperature and it tends to decrease as temperature goes up. 2) The critical strain energy release rate increases as the content of glass increases, and especially shows dramatic increase for the high glass fiber content specimens. 3) Major failure mechanisms can be classfied such as localized shear yielding, fiber-matrix debonding, matrix micro-cracking, and fiber pull-out and/or delamination.
