        To examine the in-place strength development of concrete of nuclear containment structures with the wall thickness of 1200 mm, mock-up wall specimens were prepared. For maturity evaluation, the temperature rise in the wall specimens owing to hydration heat of cementitious materials was also measured. The in-place strength of concrete was measured using core specimens collected at different locations of mock-up walls. Test results showed that in-place compressive strength development was 1.5 times higher than the strength measured from the standard cylinders. This indicates the maturity effect is needed to be considered in predicting the compressive strength development of concrete in mass structures.

        This paper presents the results of researches to developing the precast modular bridges. Procedures to decide types of bridges, results of the optimizations to minimize the cross sectional areas, concepts of joints between modules, and the results of the experimental tests to evaluate the performance of joints are presented in this paper. It is expected that the precast modular bridges may be the effective alternatives to rapidly replace deteriorated bridges and damaged bridges by disasters.

        To evaluate the seismic performance of CFFT pier reinforced by FRP, quasi-static loading tests have been conducted using the real-scaled specimens in this study. The cast in placed CFFT specimen and the precast CFFT specimens were used in these tests. From the results of the tests, it is observed that the ultimate deformation and the ductility can be improved by FRP reinforcement though the hoop reinforcement is minimized.

        본 연구에서는 급속시공을 위한 단지간의 슬래브 형식의 프리캐스트 모듈러교량의 종방향 연결부 상세를 제안하고자 한다. 슬래브 형식의 프리캐스트 모듈러교량은 횡방향으로 분절되어 제작되므로, 분절된 프리캐스트 모듈 사이에는 종방향의 연결부가 형성된다. 이에, 종방향 연결부의 형상과 제원을 결정하기 위해 전단키 개수, 폭, 높이, 경사각, 연결부 폭을 변수로 선정하여 해석적 연구와 실험적 연구를 함께 수행하였다. 결과 분석을 위해서 연결부에 초기 균열이 발생하는 균열하중에 대한 경향을 검토하였으며, 종방향 연결부의 효율성을 평가하기 위해 효율계수(efficiency factor)를 제안하였다. 해석 및 실험에서 얻어진 균열하중과 본 연구에서 제안된 효율계수를 이용하여 연결부의 형상 및 제원을 결정하였다.

        This paper presents the results of a life-cycle cost (LCC) analysis to select an efficient maintenance action for a deteriorated waterfront structure. Three different maintenance actions, a routine maintenance and two types of rehabilitation methods, were assumed and the corresponding the LCCs were calculated using a LC activity profile. The results of the analysis indicate that the LCC analysis can be effectively used to examine the maintenance alternative actions during the decision making process.
