        유리전이온도가 95℃인 폴리스티렌 균질막에서 CO2의 수착과 투과실험을 온도는 60℃, 수착실험은 1.6 MPa 범위, 투과실험은 2.5 MPa 범위 내에서 각각 행하였다. 낮은 기체압력하에서는 수착등온선이 dual-mode sorption model에 일치하였으나 1.3 MPa 이상에서는 직선이었고, 직선부분은 원점까지 외삽되었다. 평균투과계수의 압력의존성은 dual-mode mobility model로부터 위로 편기되었다. 수착등온선으로부터 폴리스티렌 막은 1.3 MPa의 기체압력에서 수착된 CO2의 가소화거동에 의해서 유리전이가 일어난다는 것을 알았고, 이는 평균투과계수의 증가와 일치하였다.

        최근 ADCP (Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler) 등 첨단장비를 활용한 유량 및 하상측정, 각종 하천기본계획 수립 시 확보되는 횡단측정 자료, 식생 및 서식처 등 하천환경과 생태자료, 드론 등을 활용한 영상자료 등 방대한 하천 정보가 확보되고 있으며, 다기능보 등 다양한 하천구조물 및 친수구역이 증가하는 등 이전과 비교하여 괄목할만한 수준으로 정보의 양이 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 다양한 하천정보를 체계적으로 저장, 관리, 공유하기 위하여 표준화 된 데이터 모델의 수립이 필요하다. 하천 정보의 경우 하천 시설물, 하천 단면측량 자료, 하천 시계열 측정 자료 등이 특정 하천을 중심으로 관리되는 반면, 기존 데이터 모델 연구에서는 특정 주제도에 기반하여 하천 정보가 레이어 형식으로 제공되어 상호 연계되지 않아 하천 정보의 효율적 관리측면에서 적합하지 않았다. 또한 신규 정보를 추가 시 기존 데이터 모델의 과다한 수정이 필요하고, 기존의 데이터 모델의 경우 표준화되지 않아 활용성이 매우 낮고, 유역중심으로 구성되어 특정 조건에 해당되는 하천 정보 검색이 어려운 단점이 존재하였다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 주제도 및 레이어 형식으로 구성되어 있던 데이터 모델 형식에서 벗어나 하천흐름선을 기준으로 데이터모델을 구축하는 방안을 제시하였으며, 하천흐름선과 하천 시설물, 단면 측량 자료, 계측 자료를 순차적으로 수용하고, 최근 신규로 생성되고 있는 다차원 하천 정보의 추가 시 기존 데이터 모델의 형식을 수정하지 않고 유연하게 대응할 수 있는 관계형 데이터 모델을 구상하였다. 또한, 하천과 유역의 논리적 저장방안 고려하여 한 개의 하천을 다수의 세그먼트로 구분하여 코드(Reach Code)를 부여하는 방안을 제시하였으며, 구상한 데이터모델을 통하여 국가하천과 지방하천 등 유역의 다양성을 포함하는 한강권역의 섬강유역을 시범하천으로 구축하였다.

        The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of forest activities on the movement skills, fine muscle functions and prosocial behaviors of children with a developmental disability. 12 children, aged 8 to 10, participated in this study; all of whom were either autistic or had an intellectual disability. The participants were divided in half and designated to either the experimental group or to the control group. The Forest Activity program was carried out once a week (from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m) for 10 weeks in a forest near D school in Seoul. Gross Motor Skill (MSTB-B), Fine Motor Skill, and prosocial behavior (PBSYC) was used as measuring tools to test the effects of the Forest Activity program on the participants. The application of the Forest Activity program showed improvements in flexibility and equivalence areas of Gross Motor Skill; as well as improved fine motor skills in accuracy and stability areas of small muscle function; and finally, there was an increase of prosocial behavior in 5 areas out of a total 7 areas (leadership, providing assistance, communication, empathy, proximity seeking). This study supports previous research in demonstrating the effectiveness of programs applying forest activities, such as the forest healing program, to enhance physical and mental stability.

        Highly homogeneous and functional stem cell-derived hepatocyte-like cells (HLCs) are considered a promising option in the treatment of liver disease and the development of effective in vitro toxicity screening tool. However, the purity of cells and expression and/or activity of drug metabolizing enzymes in stem cell-derived HLCs are usually too low to be useful for clinical or in vitro applications. Here, we describe a highly optimized differentiation protocol, which produces more than 90% albumin-positive HLCs with no purification process. In addition, we show that hepatic enzyme gene expressions and activities were significantly improved by generating three-dimensional (3D) spheroidal aggregate of HLCs. The 3D differentiation method increased expressions of nuclear receptors that regulate the proper expression of key hepatic enzymes. Furthermore, a significantly increased hepatic functions such as albumin and urea secretion were observed in 3D hepatic spheroids and HLCs in the spheroid exhibited morphological and ultrastructural features of normal hepatocytes. Importantly, we show that repeated exposures to xenobiotics facilitated the functional maturation of HLC, as confirmed by increased expression of genes for drug metabolizing enzymes and transcription factors. In conclusion, the 3D culture system with repeated exposures to xenobiotics may be a new strategy for enhancing hepatic maturation of stem cell-derived HLCs as a cell source for in vitro high-throughput hepatotoxicity models.

        Hepatocyte-like cells (HLCs) derived from human pluripotent stem cells have received extensive attention in the development of drug screening and toxicity testing. However, it has been reported that stem cell-derived HLCs showed hepatic functions that were too limited to be of use in drug screening and toxicity testing, possibly due to the lack of sufficient intercellular communication under conventional two-dimensional (2D) culture conditions. Therefore, a 3D differentiation system may overcome the in vitro limitation of 2D culture to produce stem cell-derived hepatocytes with mature metabolic functions. In this study, the feasibility of using a silicone-based spherofilm, specifically designed to produce spherical cell clusters, to generate uniformly sized 3D hepatic spheroids from hESCs was investigated. Hepatic spheroids generated on the spherofilm showed more homogenous size and shape than those generated in conventional low-attachment suspension culture dishes. Results of immunohistochemical analysis showed that expression of the mature hepatic marker albumin (ALB) increased over time during the hepatic maturation process. Furthermore, the 3D culture system mimicked the in vivo 3D microenvironment. Laminin, which is an important component of hepatic ECM, was expressed in hepatic spheroids. The results of immunohistochemical analysis indicated that the 3D culture environment is capable of generating an in vivo-like microenvironment. In addition, quantitative PCR analysis showed that the mature hepatic marker ALB and cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes CYP3A4 and CYP3A7 were expressed at higher levels in 3D culture than in 2D culture. This indicates that the 3D culture system is suitable for hepatic maturation and that our size-controlled 3D culture conditions might accelerate hepatic function.         Mannitol is commonly used to reduce intracranial and intraocular pressures and to prevent dialysis-disequilibrium syndrome. However, intravenous mannitol infusion in various cases has the potential to result in acute kidney injury (AKI). We present a case of mannitol-induced AKI that developed after low dose mannitol infusion and resulted in recovery after hemodialysis. A 66-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital with a diagnosis of left middle cerebral artery infarction. On hospital day 5, cerebral edema was observed on a follow-up MRI. D-mannitol 35 g was given intravenously every 8 hours. Four days later, serum creatinine levels were elevated from 1.2 mg/dL to 3.5 mg/dL. The serum osmolal gap was found to be 52.4 mosm/kg H2O and urine output was reduced from 2.78 mL/kg/h to 0.69 mL/kg/h over three days. Hemodialysis over 2 hours was performed and renal function subsequently improved to baseline function. A potential risk of AKI exists even with low dose mannitol infusion in patients with advanced age, underlying renal impairment, and concomitant use of nephrotoxic agents. Mannitol-induced AKI may be rapidly reversed by short-term hemodialysis.

        The objective of this study was to rapidly evaluate fatty acids in a collection of millet (Panicum miliaceum subsp. miliaceum) of different origins so that this information could be disseminated to breeders to advance germplasm use and breeding. To develop the calibration equations for rapid and nondestructive evaluation of fatty acid content, near-infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRs) spectra (1104-2494 nm) of samples ground into flour (n =100) were obtained using a dispersive spectrometer. A modified partial least-squares model was developed to predict each component. For foxtail millet germplasm, our models returned coefficients of determination (R2 ) of 0.89, 0.89, 0.89, and 0.92 for palmitic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, and total fatty acids, respectively. The prediction of the external validation set (n=10) showed significant correlation between references values and NIRs values (r2 =0.64, 0.90, 0.79, and 0.89 for palmitic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, and total fatty acids, respectively). Standard deviation/standard errors of cross-validation (SD/SECV) values were close to 3 (2.62, 2.40, 1.85, and 2.23 for palmitic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, and total fatty acids, respectively). These results indicate that these NIRs equations are functional for the mass screening and rapid quantification of the oleic and total fatty acids characterizing millet germplasm. Among the samples, IT153514 showed an especially high content of fatty acids (48.14mg~;g-1 ), whereas IT123909 had a very low content (34.44mg~;g-1 ).

        The main nutritional problem of sorghumxsudangrass hybrid (Sorghum bicolorxSorghum sudanese) silage is low quality and palatability. This experiment was conducted to evaluate whether organic com grain and crushed rice addition of sorghumxsudangrass hybrid silage increases forage quality of the silage. The sorghumxsudangrass hybrid silages with added com grain and crushed rice were similar to conventional corn silage in moisture content. However organic sorghumxsudangrass hybrid silage had low pH values. Silage added with gain and byproduct had higher crude ash, acid detergent fiber (ADF) and neutral detergent fiber (NDF) contents than control corn silages, while its non-fiber carbohydrate (NFC) and total digestible nutrients (TDN) showed the opposite results. Lactic acid, butyric acid and lactic percentage oftotal organic acid (UT) of sorghumxsudangrass hybrid silages were higher than those of com silage, but acetic acid was higher than control. In vitro dry matter digestibi/ity (IVDMD) of com silage was higher than other sorghum silages. Feed intake of sorghumxsudangrass hybrid silage added with crushed rice was highest among silages. Therefore, these data indicate that crushed rice and com grain added sorghumxsudangrass hybrid silage could be recommended as the most effective treatment for increasing silage quality and palatability.

        일본 학교교육에 있어서 국제이해교육이 처음으로 거론된 것은 1998년 개정 학습지도 요령 중의「종합적 학습시간」에서였다. 물론 국제사회에 대해서는「사회과」등을 통해 학습이 다루어져 왔으나, 이는 외국의 지리 사회 등을 이해하는 데 그쳤었다. 1986년 임시교육심의회의 제 2차 답신이 계기가 되어 국제 이해교육을 실시하였다. 답신의 내용은 학교교육에 대해 다음과 같이 3가지의 실현을 요청하는 것이었다. ① 폭넓은 시야에서 일본 사회 문화의 특성을 주장할 수 있으며, 다양한 이문화의 뛰어난 특성도 깊이 이해할 수 있는 능력을 지닌다. ② 일본인으로서 나라를 사랑하는 마음을 가짐과 동시에, 자국에 대한 이해만으로 상황을 판단하는 것이 아니라, 폭넓은 국제적, 지구적, 인류적 시야 속에서 인격의 형성을 지향한다. ③ 다양한 이문화를 깊이 이해하고, 충분히 의사소통이 가능한 국제적 커뮤니케이션 능력의 육성을 도모한다. 위 답신의 발표 배경을 토대로 본 논문에서는 일본 학교교육의 역사를 고찰하였다. 그리고 사회 변화에 호응하며 다음의 두 가지 사고가 경합하면서 일본의 학교교육이 이루어져 왔다는 사실을 분명히 하고자 하였다. ① 일본 사회 문화를 어떻게 전달할 것인가. ② 미래 사회를 짊어질 아이들에게 어떠한 능력이 필요한가. 또한 그를 어떻게 획득시킬 것인가. 일본사회가 다양화 국제화 되어가는 상황 속에서, 국제이해능력 육성은 차세대를 짊어질 아이들에게 있어 필수 불가결하다. 그러나 현 국제이해교육은 영어 능력 육성에 초점이 맞춰져 있는 경우가 많아 본래의 목적이 달성되고 있다고는 말하기 어렵다. 그러므로 금후 위의 답신을 실현하는 교육실천이 필요하며 이를 위해 국제적 시야를 지닌 교원 양성이 필요하다. 그 하나의 시도로서 나가사키대학과 한양대학교가 실시하고 있는 교육실습을 포함한 단기유학제도는 중요한 의미를 지닌다고 생각한다.

        The Purpose of this study was to offer the raw data for drawing up the conservation plan by analysing natural vegetation in Midongsan, Chungcheongbuk-do, Korea. The period of survey was from July to October, 2004 and the size of plot was 100m2. In the results of analyzing the physical environments, the range of altitude was 303~550m and soil pH was 5.4~6.8. The angle of slope was 3~57% and topographical factor was composed of ridgeline. In the results of analyzing a importance percentage, the dominant species in tree layer, Pinus rigida, P. densiflora, Quercus mongolica, Q. variabilis and Q. acutissima, P. rigida, Q. mongolica, Q. acutissima, Platycarya strobilacea and Q. variabilis in subtree layer, Rhododendron mucronulatum, Symplocos chinensis for pilosa, Lindera obtusiloba, L. erythrocarpa, Rhus trichocarpa and Weigela subsessilis in shrub layer. In the results of species diversity index, species diversity (H') was from 1.2401 to 2.5540, maximum species diversity (H'max), from 1.9459 to 2.8904, evenness (J'), from 0.5644 to 0.8836, dominance (D), from 0.1164 to 0.4356.

        “Yeonganbyeo”, a new japonica rice variety (Oryza sativa L.), is a mid- maturing ecotype with high lysine content in kernels that was developed by the rice breeding team of National Yeongnam Agricultural Experiment Station (NYAES) in 2001 and released in 2002. This variety was originated from the single cross of Milyang 122/YR13616 Acp1 (in 1992/1993 winter) and was selected by means of a mixed method of bulk and pedigree breeding. The pedigree of “Yeonganbyeo” was YR15815-B-B-B-30 and designated in 1998 as “Milyang 164”. It has about 83cm in culm length with lodging tolerance. This variety is resistant to bacterial leaf blight (K1, K2, K3), stripe virus, and moderately resistant to leaf blast disease. Milled rice kernels of “Yeonganbyeo” has high lysine content of 4.31% (ratio of amino acid components in total protein), a clear translucent with non-glutinous endosperm and clear in chalkness and good at eating quality by pannel test. The yield potential of “Yeonganbyeo” in milled rice is about 5.45 MT/ha at ordinary fertilizer level of local adaptability test. This cultivar would be adaptable to the southern plain of Korea.
