        This paper examines the seismic performance and structural design of the ceiling bracket-type modular connection. The bracket-type system reduces the cross-sectional area loss of members and combines units using fitting steel plate, and it has been developed to be fit for medium-story and higher-story buildings. In particular, this study conducted the cyclic loading test for the performance of the C-type and L-type brackets, and compared the results. The test results were also compared with the commercial FEA program. In addition, the structural design process for the bracket-type modular connection was presented. The two connections, proposed as a result of the test results, were all found to secure the seismic performance level of the special moment steel frame. In the case of initial stiffness, the L-type bracket connection was found to be great, but in the case of the maximum moment or fully plastic moment, it was different depending on the loading direction.

        Building hardware joints are welded in most cases, which have risks of fire and explosion. Besides, the secondary damage of the destruction of the welded parts can be caused by the horizontal displacement of the structure due to earthquake or wind load. This paper compared the horizontal displacement following abilities of welded building hardware and non-welded building hardware. To do this, We conducted actual formation shake table test, and checked on the horizontal displacement following ability of structure by comparing their responses to earthquake load. We made the 2m-high framework to examine the responses of the actually constructed building hardwares, and analyzed the displacement responses of the welded-typed, non-welded-typed, and cruciform bracket building hardwares. We conducted the test by increasing acceleration rate until displacement reached 40mm corresponding to allowable relative story displacement II. The result of the test showed that the building hardware using welding work made cracking and breakage on welded connections of welded building hardware, but non-welded building hardware with no use of welding work and cruciform bracket building hardware make no problem, and that non-welded building hardware is superior to that of the welded building hardware in the horizontal displacement following ability due to earthquake or wind load.

        Using trapezoidal corrugated plates in shear reinforcing systems improves stiffness and flexibility in the deformation along the corrugation. However, shear buckling behaviors is difficult to predict the relationship between the corrugated shape. In this study, a cyclic loading test of the trapezoidal corrugated plate was performed to evaluate the effects of energy dissipation capacity were compared according to the test results.

        In this study, trapezoidal corrugate plate were subjected to cyclic loading under displacement control. And then, results from the experiment, the behavioral characteristics and mechanism of energy dissipation were investigated. This result were different to the cumulative size of energy dissipation capacity in load-displacement curve. Based on these results, Influence of the shape is very large and it is determined the define an appropriate shape for the size.

        This paper aims at developing an environmentally friendly modular dome structure system with highly filled extrusion wood-plastic composite (WPC) member, and manufacturing a real-size specimen by modularizing members and nodes. The member used in the model is the WPC member with 70% wooden fiber contests, which is higher then previous WPC one. Its members and nodes are modularized by analyzing geometric characteristics of icosahedral-based geodetic dome. Applicapability of the 6ea prototype nodes and 3ea prototype members to the modular dome is examined with the results of the modulaization and the making process for the real-size specimen. Besides, from the analysis results, the lowest buckling mode is expected to be a nodal buckling on a node near the boundary.

        This study investigates the geodesic dome based on an icosahedron and development of joint modules that make up a dome structure in order to model the modular dome using the wood-plastic composite member with 70% of wooden fiber contests. The purpose of this work is used as a basis for verification of structural performance of WPC in the real structures.

        Large span roof structures require an analysis of their static and dynamic behavior depending on the physical parameters defining the structures. Therefore, it is highly desirable to estimate the parameters from observations of the system. However, the study of the behavior of such structures shows the existence of critical parameters. A small change in such parameters causes a significant change in the motion behavior. In this paper we study the parameter identification problem for shallow sinusoidal arches considering damping effect.

        This paper aimed at modeling a triangular mesh for triangular grid dome by using improved harmony search algorithm. For this purpose, an optimization process to find a regular triangular mesh on the curved surface was proposed and a program for this was developed. The objective function consisted of the standard deviations of the area and the boundary length of each triangle, and the design variables were regulated by the upper and lower boundary conditions which were calculated depending on the nodal connectivity. Triangular grid dome, which initially had consisted of irregular triangular meshes, was selected as target example. In dome model, its result was very approached to the minimum standard deviation of the area and the boundary length of each triangle.
