        본 연구에서는 거세방법에 따른 한우의 안심살(M. psoas major), 꽃등심살(M. longissimus thoracis) 및 우둔살(M. semimembranous)의 육질특 성과 지방산 조성을 조사하였다. 공시시료는 송아지가 7개월령에 도달하면, 외과적 수술방법을 통해 한쪽 고환을 제거한 반거세 한우(half-castration; HC) 9두와 양쪽 모두 제거한 완전거세 한우(complete-castration; CC) 8두를 이용하였다. 거세된 송아지는 24-26개월까지 동일한 조건에서 사육한 후 도축하고 3개 부위(안심살, 꽃등심살, 우둔살)를 채취하여 육질 분석하였다. 거세방법에 따른 그룹 간 지방함량은 HC 그룹이 2.97~11.06%로 CC 그룹보다 낮은 함량을 나타내었으며, 수분함량은 HC 그룹이 65.39~70.90%로 CC 그룹보다 높은 함량을 나타내었다(p<0.05). 3개 근육의 pH는 5.47~5.54 범위였으며, pH와 보수력은 거세방법에 따른 유의적인 차이는 나타나지 않았다(p>0.05). 육색은 L*값과 a*값에서 HC가 CC보다 낮게 나타났다(p<0.05). 가열감량과 전단력은 HC 그룹의 꽃등심살이 CC 그룹보다 높은 값을 나타내었다(p<0.05). 지방산 조성은 palmitic acid, palmitoleic acid, vaccenic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, linoleneic acid와 PUFA, n6에서 HC와 CC 그룹 간 유의적 차이가 나타났다(p<0.05). 특히, 지방산 조성에서 HC 그룹과 CC 그룹 모두 oleic acid가 가장 높은 함량을 나타내었다(p<0.05). 따라서 거세 방법은 한우육의 근육 내 지방, 육색, 연도와 같은 이화학적 특성과 지방산 조성에 영향을 미칠 수 있다고 사료된다.

        The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of dry-aging and wet-aging conditions on the chemical composition, meat quality traits (color, water holding capacity, cooking loss, WBSF and pH) and shelf-life TBARS (2-thiobarbituric acid reactive substances) and VBN (volatile basic nitrogen) of loin (M. longissimus thoracis), sirloin (M. glutaeusmedus) and top-round (M. semimembranosus) cuts of Hanwoo cows. The dry-aging condition (temperature ℃, relative humidity %) was done for 60 d as 2℃, 65%, 20 d+2℃, 75%, 20 d+4℃, 85%, 20 d while, the wet-aging was done for 60 d at 1℃, 85%. Results revealed that moisture content was significantly higher in the dry-aged samples than that of the wet-aged samples at 60 d (p<0.05). The a*- and b*-values were significantly higher in 3 cuts as compared with those treated with wet-aging condition. During the dry-aging time, the WHC significantly increased in the loin and sirloin and they were significantly higher than wet-aging condition at 40 d and 60 d (p<0.05). The WBSF values significantly decreased with increased aging time and there was no significant difference between two aging methods. The TBARS and VBN contents significantly increased with increased aging time for all the wet- and dry-aged cuts, and their levels still fell within the acceptable standard limit. Generally, the TBARS and VBN contents were significantly higher in the dry-aged cuts, probably due to the increased levels of protein and fatty acids oxidations. Based on the results obtained in the present study, it can be suggested that application of dry-aging method can improve the quality characteristics of beef.

        Diphosphine dinuclear gold(I) complexes were synthesized from the reaction of bridged diphosphines and gold ions. As a bridged diphosphine, 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)metbane (dppm) or 1,1'-Bis(diphenylphosphino) ferrocene (dppf) was introduced. As anionic ligands, CI was first coordinated to Au, resulting in (diphosphine)(AuCl)2. Then, the ligand, SPh, was substituted for Cl in the chloride complex to give (diphosphine)(AuSPh)2. As a result, three digold complexes, (dppm)(AuCl)2. (I), (dppf)(AuCl)2. (II), and (dppf)(AuSPh2. (III) were prepared in this study. The thermal properties were investigated at first hand to confirm that the gold complexes were in fact formed. The digold complexes were decomposed above 200℃ while the ligand, dppm or dppf, melts under 180℃ The photoluminescence (PL) spectra of the spin-coated thin films showed the maximum peak at 590, 595, and 540nm for the complex, I, II, and III, respectively. These complexes were found to give the orange color phosphorescence. Therefore, these digold complexes can be candidates for orange-red phosphorescent materials in organic electroluminescent devices (OELD). Further studies on application of the complexes as a dopant in an emitting layer are in progress in our laboratory.

        Organic Electroluminescent devices(OELD) consisted of multilayer structures have been studied for the application the application to flat-panel display. Metal-chelate complexes, zinc bis(2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)benzoxazolate) (Zn(BOX)2) and zinc bis(2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)benzothiazolate) (Zn(BOX)2), have been intensively investigated as an white-light emitting layer and recognized to have good electroluminescent(EL) properties. In this study, (Zn(BOX)2) and (Zn(BTZ)2) were synthesized and characterized by FT-IR, 1H-NMR, UV-VIS and PL. Their EL properties were also studied and their ionization potential(IP) and electron affinity(EA) were also measured by cyclic voltammetry(CV).

        Recently, high luminance and efficiency were realize in organic thin film electroluminescence (EL) cells with multilayer structures including an emitting layer (EML), hole transporting layer (HTL), and an electron transporting layer (ETL). In this study, Bis(10-hydroxybenzo[h]quinolinato)beryllium (Bebq2) was synthesized. PL and EL characteristics of their thin film were investigated by fabricating the devices having a structure of ITO/PVK/Bebq2/Al, ITO/PVK dispersed with TPD/Bebq2/Al. The EL color of these device was greenish and the wavelength of their EL peaks was located, respectly, at 495nm, and 492.5nm.

        It is well known that the metallo-phthalocyanine(MPcs) are sensitive to toxic gaseous molecules such as NO2 and also chemically and thermally stable. Therefore, lots of MPcs have been studied for the potential chemical sensor for NO2 gas using quartz crystal microbalance or electrical conductivity. In this study, 2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-[octa-(dodecyloxy)] copper phthalocyanine and 2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-[octa-(octyloxy)] copper phthalocyanine were synthesized and their possibility of LB film preparation were tested. It was confirmed by using FT-IR, DSC, NMR, UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy and Elemental Analysis that CuPc derivatives were successfully synthesized. From the π-A characteristics and limiting areas of two CuPc derivatives it was found that the preparation of LB films with these CuPc derivatives is possible.
