        The current study aims to examine whether topic familiarity can be associated with, and can also substantially contribute to, the testlet effect often found among items sharing a common passage in reading comprehension tests, particularly by using the Multidimensional Item Response Theory (MIRT) bifactor model as the main data analytic scheme. Data analyzed in this study were item scores collected from 830 Korean high school students who took a 8-passage, 32-item reading comprehension test (4 items per passage) and a 40-item self-reported topic familiarity questionnaire (5 items per passage). The results of analysis revealed that (a) the bifactor model best fit the test data; (b) the self-reported topic familiarity score was not correlated with the testlet factor scores at a statistically significant level; and (c) the overall topic familiarity score had a positive correlation with the general reading ability score, however. Implications of these major findings are discussed in terms of the usefulness of the bifactor model and the nature of testlet effects in reading tests, along with avenues for further investigation.

        현행 규제요건에 따르면 국내에서 발생된 모든 폐밀봉선원은 자체처분 대상, 극저준위 또는 중·저준위 방사성폐기물에 해 당하며, 기본적으로 방사능 농도를 기준으로 한 처분방식 제한규정을 준수해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 분류체계 이외 에 IAEA 및 국외 폐밀봉선원 사용국의 방사성폐기물 분류체계, 폐밀봉선원 고유 특성 등에 대한 검토 및 분석결과를 토대 로 반감기 및 A/D 값(각 선원의 방사능(A)을 작업자 및 일반 대중에 대한 잠재적 위험도를 의미하는 방사성핵종 고유의‘D 값’을 활용하여 정규화한 수치로 선원의 상대적 위험을 평가하는 기초적인 기준으로 사용)에 대한 기준을 추가적으로 적용 하여 국내 폐밀봉선원 분류체계에 대한 방안을 제시한 후, 각 범주에 대한 처분방식을 도출하였다. 다양한 처분시점을 상정 한 국내 폐밀봉선원 특성 분석 및 처분방안별 대상 수량·체적 평가결과를 통해 본 연구에서 도출된 처분방안을 처분 예상 시기와 무관하게 2015년 3월말 기준으로 임시저장 중인 모든 폐밀봉선원에 대해 적용할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 단, 방사능 량을 확인할 수 없거나 비방사능 또는 A/D 값을 산출할 수 없는 선원에 대해서는 본 연구결과를 적용할 수 없으므로 처분방 안 이행을 위해서는 사전에 비방사능, 체적 등의 선원 고유 특성이 반드시 확인되어야 한다.

        The advances of the Internet open consumers new opportunities to share their consumption experiences, opinions and feelings with others. Online customer reviews (OCRs) are a crucial source of information for consumers and are regarded as one of the most influential types of electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM) in shaping consumer attitudes and facilitating purchase decisions (Plummer, 2007). Prior research has produced a number of valuable insights on OCRs (e.g., Dellarocas, Gao, & Narayan, 2010; Hennig-Thurau et al., 2004; Mayzlin, Dover, & Chevalier, 2014). Especially the influence of OCR valence (positively vs. negatively framed information) has received considerable attention both from practitioners and from scholars (e.g., Xue & Zhou, 2010; Yang & Mai, 2010; Lee et al., 2009). However, we argue that scientific insights on the influence of OCR valence remain limited. Specifically, this paper shows that the level of source credibility (high vs. low) as well as the type of product (search vs. experience good) are important moderators of the influence of OCR valence on several consumer OCR reactions (product attitude, product quality, and product trust) under specific circumstances only. Four hundred and sixteen respondents (70% females, average age 24 years) participated in an experiment with a 2×2×2 between-subjects full factorial design manipulating the OCR valence (positive vs. negative), the source credibility (high vs. low) and the product type (search vs. experience good). Results demonstrate that the effect of positive OCRs from highly credible sources on diverse outcome variables is larger than from low credible sources. By acknowledging Chaiken et al.’s (1989) theoretical extension of the heuristic-systematic model (Chaiken, 1980) we provide empirical evidence that source credibility intensifies the impact of positive OCRs due to the additivity effect. In contrast, credible negative information is not more influential than incredible information. A similar mechanism becomes operational when considering product type. Here, positive OCRs about experience goods have a stronger influence on product evaluations than similarly valenced information about search goods. This research provides further support for the crucial role of credible, positive OCRs in affecting consumer behavior in contrast to their negative counterparts. From a practical perspective, marketers should consider including highly credible OCRs from trustworthy and experienced customers’ peers as decision aids. This can be achieved, for instance, by including personal postings from Facebook. Such a strategy is particularly efficient as positive OCRs increase the consumer’s confidence towards the product while credible negative OCRs are not more harmful than incredible ones.

        Ni-C composite films were prepared by co-deposition using a combined technique of plasma CVD and ion beam sputtering deposition. Depending on the deposition conditions, Ni-C thin films manifested three kinds of microstructure: (1) nanocrystallites of non-equilibrium carbide of nickel, (2) amorphous Ni-C film, and (3) granular Ni-C film. The electrical resistivity was also found to vary from about 102 μΩcm for the carbide films to about 104 μΩcm for the amorphous Ni-C films. The Ni-C films deposited at ambient temperatures showed very low TCR values compared with that of metallic nickel film, and all the films showed ohmic characterization, even those in the amorphous state with very high resistivity. The TCR value decreased slightly with increasing of the flow rate of CH4. For the films deposited at 200 oC, TCR decreased with increasing CH4 flow rate; especially, it changed sign from positive to negative at a CH4 flow rate of 0.35 sccm. By increasing the CH4 flow rate, the amorphous component in the film increased; thus, the portion of Ni3C grains separated from each other became larger, and the contribution to electrical conductivity due to thermally activated tunneling became dominant. This also accounts for the sign change of TCR when the filme was deposited at higher flow rate of CH4. The microstructures of the Ni-C films deposited in these ways range from amorphous Ni-C alloy to granular structures with Ni3C nanocrystallites. These films are characterized by high resistivity and low TCR values; the electrical properties can be adjusted over a wide range by controlling the microstructures and compositions of the films.

        Pollutants removal efficiency in pretreatment(GAC filter, multi-media filter, disk filter) and RO facilities was investigated for the Jeju Samyang spring water source where raw water intake has been stopped due to sea water intrusion. In addition, preliminary feasibility analysis was conducted between RO and groundwater intake systems. Turbidity removal in 4 different pretreatment processes was less than 25% due to low concentration of turbidity(i.e., less than 0.21 NTU), while multi-media filter is recommended for the pretreatment facility based on the low organic content in raw water as well as cheaper operation and maintenance cost. The average concentration of Cl- in raw water was 691.4 mg/L, while that of RO permeate was 9.1 mg/L(i.e., removal efficiency was 98.4%). In addition, TDS removal efficiency was 98.1%, which was quite high. The production cost for RO system(Q=4,000 m3/d) was 362.1 won/m3 considering installation, operation and maintenance cost for 30 years. While that of groundwater was 262.6 won/m3 which was low compared to the RO system. However, it is recommended to introduce RO system for Samyang water source rather than new groundwater development because Samyang water source has been discharged to the sea without any usage, while groundwater can be used for other purpose as a sustainable water source.

        Quiet environment is essential for improving quality of living and rest. For example, noisy neighbors degrade quality of sleeping of residents. Due to emphasis on energy saving of buildings, more insulation and tighter sealing is applied for windows, doors, and walls of new buildings. As results, not only energy dissipation of new building is reduced, but also interior of new buildings have become significantly quieter. However, sound and heat insulation performance of existing buildings is relatively worse, when compared to that of recent buildings. As elapse of time, gap between bricks or concrete of building and sealing grows larger, worsening of sound and heat insulation performance of buildings is unavoidable. To provide quiet room for quality control of products or other purposes in noisy environment, indoor noise chamber is required in practice. In present work, sound transmission through indoor noise chamber is measured using different noise sources. For the worst case, noise source and sound transmission of door slam noise is shown.

        The en-riched 58Ni powders are dissolved in acid solution and coated on a Cu target for proton irradiation at cyclotron to produce 57Co radioisotope. The condition of the plating bath and the coating process are determined using the en-riched powders. To establish the coating conditions for 57Co, non-radioactive Co ions are dissolved in an acid solution and electroplated on to a rhodium plate. The thermal diffusion of electroplated Co into a rhodium matrix was studied to apply a 57Co Mssbauer source. The diffusion depth from surface to matrix of Co is depended on the annealing temperature and time. The deposited Co atoms diffuse completely into a rhodium (Rh) matrix without substantial loss at an annealing temperature of 1200 for 4 hours.

        The present study aims to compare teacher talk and the course book used as a source of vocabulary input. For the research purpose, part of Yenny Corpus (Kwon, 2013) was used to analyze the vocabulary content of the two input sources. Yenny Corpus consists of a total of 247,398 words collected from EFL classes of four native and five non-native university lecturers. In this study, however, the data of 1,416 words by the native teachers and 1,651 words by the non-native teachers with their course book scripts were used. To analyze the quantity and quality of the vocabulary use (e.g., level, diversity) of the two input sources, some representative word lists such as BNC-COCA 25,000 word family list topped on Range Program (Heatley & Nation, 2002) were applied. The results show that the teachers (including both native and non-native teachers) orally provide 8,090 word types while their course books introduce 4,713. The non-native teachers provide a little more vocabulary input compared with the native teachers’ talk. In addition, the level of the vocabulary provided by the non-native teachers seems more appropriate for their students’ vocabulary ability. Nevertheless, in order to generalize the findings further research is needed in different settings.

        본 연구는 수질오염 및 비점오염에 대한 일반인들의 의식을 알아보고, 비점오염 저감을 위한 교육의 필요성과 참여의 사 등을 파악함으로써 비점오염 예방과 관리에 있어 일반인들의 참여를 이끌고자 수행되었다. 이를 위해, Onpanel에 가입된 전국 20대 이상 성인 남녀 1,000명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문의 구성은 수질오염 인식현황, 비점오염 예방활동, 비점오염 예방을 위한 대책마련, 비점오염원 저감을 위한 국민교육 필요성, 홍보 및 캠페인 참여의 식, 비점오염 저감을 위한 조직 활성화 방안 등으로 구성하였다. 설문조사 결과 응답자들의 수질오염에 대한 관심도가 높게 나타났으며 특히 비점오염 관심도는 연령, 학력, 소득이 높을수록 더욱 높은 관심도를 보여 비점오염원에 대한 홍보·교육의 실효성을 높일 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 비점오염에 대한 관심도, 정보, 교육, 저감활동 관련 경험이 많을수록 비점오염 저감교육의 효과를 긍정적으로 인식하였으며, 비점오염 저감교육의 효과를 긍정적으로 인식할수록 교육 참여의사가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 비점오염의 관리를 위해서는 국민의 공감대 형성이 반드시 필요하며, 비점오염 관련 정보, 교육, 저감활동에 대한 참여경험을 높이는 시민 활동 프로그램의 공급과 쉽고 전달력 강한 홍보가 지속적으로 이루어져야 할 것이다.

        In this proceedings, preliminary results of the KVN Source-Frequency Phase-Referencing (SFPR) observation of 3C 66A and 3C 66B are presented. The motivation of this work is to measure the core-shift of these 2 sources and study the temporal evolution of the jet opacity. Two more sources were observed as secondary reference calibrators and each source was observed at 22, 43, and 86 GHz simultaneously. Our preliminary results show that after using the observations at the lower frequency to calibrate those at the higher frequency of the same source, the residual visibility phases for each source at the higher frequencies became more aligned, and the coherence time became much longer; also, the residual phases for different sources, within 10 degrees angular separations, follow similar trends. After reference to the nearby calibrator, the SFPRed maps were obtained as well as the astrometric measurements, i.e. the combined coreshift. The measurements were found to be affected by structural blending effects because of the large beamsize of KVN, but this can be corrected with higher resolution maps (e.g. KAVA maps).

        The short time scale X-ray variability associated with the accretion disk around compact objects is complex and is vaguely understood. The study of the cross correlation function gives an insight into the energy dependent behavior of the variations and hence connected processes. Using high resolution RXTE data, we investigate the dynamical cross correlation function of an observation of a black hole source XTE J1550-564 in the steep power law state. The cross correlation between soft and hard X- ray energy bands revealed both correlated and anti-correlated delays (≤ ±15 s) on a correlation time scale of 50 s. It was noticed that the observed delays were similar to the delays between X-ray and optical/IR bands in other black hole and neutron star sources. We discuss the possible mechanisms/processes to explain the observed delays in the dynamical CCF.
